Thanks for watching everybody! It always means so much to me that you all tune in every time. I hope you dig the pedal and the demo. This is one of the most fun pedals I've played in a long time. If you like it, then please consider leaving a like, comment or go all the way and share the demo with your partners in tone. Every action means more than you could possibly think. The word of mouth can be so powerful and meaningful. As always, thank you for being awesome ❤
The expression port is only meant for connecting an expression pedal, not other effects pedals. You only use the in and outputs on the pedals to make serial effects chains. You need something like a Boss EV-30, Moog EP-3 or Mission Engineering EP-1 to use the expression functionalities on the Lysis.
@@thepedalzone Sooooo, just got my Lysis pedal and thought there was a problem with the expression jack. I was using a short right angle patch cable and it didn't work (mono). So I grabbed a longer (straight end) cable (which was stereo) and it worked. Any idea why this is happening?
Thank you very much! And yes, I totally agree with the "Synthy but not synthy" part. It sounds synthy, but still remains firmly rooted in the world of guitar, and I love that!
It's such an epic pedal! Recommend you check out the MkII version of it though. It's way more versatile. I have a demo of that one on my channel as well :)
That pedal truely is amazing, but what amazes me even more is your approach of playing. Demoing guitar pedals can be boring and sometimes even annoying, for a lot of times the demonstrator can play a mean guitar, but he (or she) doesn't do justice to the pedal 'cos he (or she) just doesn't know what to do with something that isn't another klon klone, or another screamer. And then there are those who don't even know how to play the guitar at all. With you I don't know how well you can play the guitar. Atleast you know what you can't do, 'cos I never heard you playing poorly. That's a gift. And it's better than that, 'cos what you excel in is to create the perfect sonic atmosphere to demo the gear, whatever it may be, in a way that shows exactly what you can do with it. And it allways impresses and inspire me. That tells me you're a musician. Not just another guitar nerd. Thanks again!
I don't know how you personally define a "good" guitar player or someone who plays "well". If that means high technical proficiency, shred abilities and muscle memory full of licks and riffs, then that's not me. I'm not a "shop player" or whatever you wanna call it. My abilities are what's on display in my videos. I can't do more than that. A good musician to me is someone who plays to the song, and not someone who plays to be heard. So in this demo context, it means someone who plays to make the pedal shine, and not someone who tries to shine through the pedal. My strength is that I'm willing to invest the time it takes to learn a pedal deeply, almost to a level of product specialist, so I can concisely show what makes a pedal special. If that requires me to hone certain playing skills, then I'm also willing to invest the time on that front. I know my limits, but I also know that I'm willing to push my own limits in order to demonstrate a pedal the way it deserves to be demonstrated. Thanks for the taking the time to watch the demo, and then write a kind and thoughtful comment. Means a lot to me.
ThePedalZone ; That's exactly what I meant! And it's so important, because it makes everything you do both authentic and credible. I can listen for hours, just to hear you play. Your playing moves me everytime. ❤️
Great video thanks now i want another pedal 😂 by the way you make excellent demo videos, all great in showing the range of a pedal in a lot of styles. Keep up the good work!
Makes sense, seeing as the pedal appears to draw inspiration from the visuals of Isis. Background kinda looks like the cover of Oceanic and the font is definitely based on their logo.
Every video you do confirms you have the coolest taste in pedals. I’ve been looking for a first fuzz, and I’ve always wanted something more than just a muff. This looks fun enough to spend time exploring. Thanks for the rad sounds, Stefan!

Really happy you liked the demo and the pedal. It’s one of my favorite releases in recent years. You should really check out the latest MkII version of it. I have a demo of that on my channel as well. It takes the original Lysis to a whole new level of epic awesomeness
@@thepedalzone heck yeah I'll look at it right now. It's like you make organic synths but without midi that's what these pedals industries needs to do is make it available more and advanced to where we don't need hardware keyboards or midi pickups any longer

@@thepedalzone I had to repeat that statement because my thoughts were pretty much obliterated after hearing that pedal. I was trying to wait for the new year to get another pedal (your show and a few others have been very effective) but since you had pretty much sold me on the 76plus (truly astounding pedal) I had to hear its darker, more bizarre cousin. Annoyingly not disappointed. Bad for my wallet, challenge to my discipline, portal to another tone dimension. I may need pedal acquisition therapy. Enabler! =)
Loved the review! The reasons you stated at the end of your video are exactly why I bought a Walrus Audio Luminary V1 over the Lysis, because the V2 flutter control is a tremolo whereas the V1 is actually a chorus/vibrato sound, because it provided more control and functionality and allows me to pair my favorite fuzz pedal with to achieve the same results and deeper with its presets and internal dip switches. However, the WA Luminary V1 doesn't have the warp feature and while not exactly a deal breaker, it was in fact a bummer not to have. Nothing a glitch or oscillating pedal couldn't fix. Admittedly, for me, it was a very tough call to decide between the two as I really wanted the Lysis, but the Luminary had it all where it counted for me. I would definitely love to see you feature the WA Luminary V1 or V2 with your chops and pedal pairings of choice some time on the channel! Cheers!
Wow, just amazing man! Really cool concept for a pedal and theirs alot of options onboard!
