Thank you for saying how much hard work they are! They can be a lifetime companion - they can be _two_ lifetime companions if you get one of the longest-living ones when you're older yourself (so please make sure your bird will be cared for by someone it likes!). But they are _constant_ work, _especially_ members of the parrot family. That includes budgerigars - they're also very companionable and smart, and seriously undervalued imho. They're not as flashy as big parrots, but they can be terrific companions (if you treat them well) and they're smart too! My gran would let hers out of its cage for a fly around the living room (this was in the early 70s, and probably before then, so she would have been considered quite progressive by some people). When I went to stay with her, we'd have a daily reading time, and Beauty used to come and sit on one of our shoulders - the ones touching each other - and would "read" with us! He loved it - he was free to fly around anywhere, and if the story wasn't so good, he might fly off (he'd fly into his cage when _he_ wanted to return, but if someone was to come to the house, he knew Gran needed him to go back to his cage to keep safe. Ringnecks are highly intelligent birds, and they can learn a lot of things if correctly taught. Psittacine birds in general are very nice and intelligent. On the Ringnecks, females are the dominant ones. If they don't like a male they can even kill him. In this case, as the male was already an adult bird, and he already lived on that territory (the house) and the female much younger and arrived later, she obviously accepted him. Would be curious to know if those eggs have hatched and baby Ringnecks were born. Love your videos!
@@christinehutchins123 Guess you mean the eggs hatching. If the parents did a good job there's no reason why not. But only the owner knows I suppose. Maybe she will update us on that some day...
@@RyosukeTakahashiRX7 I see. So in nature each male and female, before they decide to mate, first thing is they must check all their compatibilities with an expert geneticist, right?...
@@bluelight3183 No, but there's natural selection lmao. Most parrots in captivity are inbred af for color mutations or due to lack of new bloodlines which is why pet budgies as example rarely live longer than about 5~10 years when they'd be able to live around 15.
Birds of a feather flock together indeed 😍😍😍 such beautiful birds! Hope you, Schiele and Vonnegut all had a Happy New Year with many more to come 🎊💙🦜💙🎊
It's true though, and many people who get parrots never should have done it. They don't realise they're bringing a creature into their home that will be loud, messy, destructive and get into everything. They're really intelligent and they need lots of stimulation or they'll get bored and even more destructive than they naturally are. They are gregarious so they need tons of interaction and love and time from their humans or they become depressed and develop behaviour problems like self-harm or incessant ear-piercing screaming. Not a pet for everyone.
@@stimela1000 I’ve also read that they form deep bonds with their human so it’s fucked up if you later decide the bird it’s not for you and abandons it.

African Ring Necks are the sweetest birds. I love these 2. THIS is an amazing pet owner we should all be this way putting our animals needs above ours. Absolutely amazing!
Lol at 3:32 poor Vonnegut wanted to buy himself a yellow egg so he put it in the shopping cart but Schiele is so dominating while she put her toothpaste in the cart, she removed Vonnegut's egg from it and not only she removed it but literally threw it down the table 😢
Birds are meant to fly. They should NEVER live in a cage. Breaks my heart to know there are so many living caged up and they can’t even move around like intended. These birds are very well taken care of! Thank you for sharing and being so good to them.
Personally when I was a kid my mom gets afraid of my green ringneck parrot when isn't in the cage but when she isn't near we let it loose in the house Not all of us likes keeping their parrots always in the cage
Totally agree with you.. that's why it needs a lot of preparation and knowledge before owning any pets, otherwise they will be living in minimum condition :(
First of all I love them. 💗 But a baby parrot that still has to be fed with breeding porridge through a syringe has been removed from his parents too early which I really don't support. Other thing: with many parrots/ parakeets (not all) the females are the dominant ones and not the males. So Schiebe acts totally normal 😄. Thus said, I'm a loving parakeet owner for more than 30 years. If I'm wrong pls correct me.
So thankful to lovely people like this who advocate for these beautiful little animals and try to spread educations that just sticking them in a cage is unutterable cruelty.

That's what I was wondering too!
@@christinehutchins123 Guess you mean the eggs hatching.
If the parents did a good job there's no reason why not. But only the owner knows I suppose. Maybe she will update us on that some day...
I hope not. There's no reason to put in more baby birds of parents which genetic lineage isn't even known.
Awhh...lol they are adorable.
Laughed at her hanging upside down by the door frame 😄
Birds of a feather flock together indeed 😍😍😍 such beautiful birds!
Hope you, Schiele and Vonnegut all had a Happy New Year with many more to come 🎊💙🦜💙🎊
Stories like this crack me into tears every single time 🥺😭 it’s so crazy and beautiful ❤️😍
Lol they are so lovely and funny 😄, happy new year friend
“They are like 3 to 5 years old that never grows up” stays with you for 30+ years. Yeah, I’m not getting a parrot.
😅👌🏻😂
@@stimela1000 exactly right....parrots are probably the most difficult pets to keep
0:41 is so cute 🥺
Birds are beyond smart. They are loving and affectionate. Having birds I also first thought they are easy pets to have in the house but boy are they bundle of work but very rewarding! They all spend the day out of the cage and love to get into trouble going on adventures. Glad these two sweeties have each other! ♥️🦜❤️
so pretty
thank you
God bless you
Absolutely adorable!!! God bless you for caring for & loving these beautiful birds❤️ We need more people like you in this world 👍🙏❤️
She is a whole mood! I love her.
Hey
My God, beautiful beyond words! This made my heart smile! What precious little parrot people! God bless!
So clever! Some animals really can fill in a human's shoes! I very often prefer more an animal's company than a person's! xx
I say that all the time. 😄 Paws are definitely better company than most humans. I'm the person who notices a dog dish on the floor at someone's house and asks if I can play with the dog, doesn't matter that I'm 37.
Beautiful! What a pair of angels! Wonderful!
This story makes me happy 💯
They are going to have some cute adorable babies
This is so cute!🥰
SWEET BIG BROTHER !! PERCOCIOUS LITTLE SISTER !! GOOD FOR YOU...FOR EDUCATING YOURSELF, & OTHERS ABOUT BIRD CARE, & STIMULATING ACTIVITIES. I HAD A CONURE FOR 33 YEARS...♡☆♡
at 0:41 he kissed her its adorable
They are adorable! I had two parakeets for 7 years..I lived in a small apt and could leave them in my bedroom w door closed and their cage open. It worked out well..they didn’t make too big of a mess and had their freedom all day when I was gone. They were so sweet and funny.❤️
I really love them, happy new year friend
1:12 “this is green, just like us. And there’s this cute round thing, just like you”
African Ring Necks are the sweetest birds. I love these 2. THIS is an amazing pet owner we should all be this way putting our animals needs above ours. Absolutely amazing!

Everything is awesome? Am I sensing a lego movie reference when she said that
Those birdies are just so cute.🥰🦜🦜It's so sweet how he keeps kissing his little sister and making that cute sound.
Lol at 3:32 poor Vonnegut wanted to buy himself a yellow egg so he put it in the shopping cart but Schiele is so dominating while she put her toothpaste in the cart, she removed Vonnegut's egg from it and not only she removed it but literally threw it down the table 😢
Too beautiful. And their little shopping trolley😂….
Beautiful family. Birds should only sleep in a comfortable cage at night. During the day they need to be free. This family has it right.
White ppl have outstanding empathy towards animals (for the most part)
NUNCA me canso de mirarlos..
Me tienen hipnotizada
Cracking up at the end scene... not only takes it out of the cart but pushes it on the floor. Lolololol 😛
I did too, see me comment above(?)
@@silvergirl8763 no, sorry. It was a great scene
Thats cute! What a kick watching them together. They bring a bunch of emotions to you every day. Joy is one of the best I'll bet.🙏❤
Birds are meant to fly. They should NEVER live in a cage. Breaks my heart to know there are so many living caged up and they can’t even move around like intended. These birds are very well taken care of! Thank you for sharing and being so good to them.
Personally when I was a kid my mom gets afraid of my green ringneck parrot when isn't in the cage but when she isn't near we let it loose in the house
Not all of us likes keeping their parrots always in the cage
Totally agree with you.. that's why it needs a lot of preparation and knowledge before owning any pets, otherwise they will be living in minimum condition :(
Kissing his baby sister on the head just completed melted my heart. 🥰
Also thank God for good pet owners. This sweet lady is a diamond. ❤️
Hey
WHOA!
How'd she manage to pull out the door lock? I really appreciate their intelligence and sweet personalities!
We've had our Sun Conure for about 2 years now. We suspect she's female, from her behavior. We just adore her! She's like a doggo with wings!
U know....they will miss you soo long.... Like 70 years in their life 🙁🙁.... But still spend the good time with them 🤗🤗🤗
1:33 that’s clearly a bat in disguise
He is so precious to the new baby God bless them both
I would go crazy having a bird. So needy. I think I'm fine with my lazy cat.
I LOVE these two. Such complete opposites as well but they love the kisses
Since I subscribed here my stress has dropped.
So thankful to lovely people like this who advocate for these beautiful little animals and try to spread educations that just sticking them in a cage is unutterable cruelty.
So cute and smart! I wish people stop keeping them as "easy pets" in small cages, etc.
