Nice thank you very much for all the info, i will definitely use much of your build tricks for sure. Can you just share the exact paint brand you used ?
@Long Ann I buffed it all with a sanding sponge first for paint adhesion. Primer filler sprayed and then Dulux flat black rattle can and Tamiya Ts-28 Olive Drab 2 spray for shrouds. :)
From another pulse rifle stl kit. I dont recall the name. If you email me (address in channel info), I can send you the modified grip file and stock if you would like it.
Just watched your extra info video, your build is perfect to me, i have not started mine yet but your my #1 reference for doing my mod soon. You should turn back the comments on this new video, just a thought ! again AMAZING WORK truly !
Hi, Thanks.. Because it's more of a slideshow rather than me commenting, the idea is you pause at the screen you want to see or read. Otherwise it would be a very long wait to the next screens. UA-cam attention span isnt long enough to have that much time for each frame. At least I dont have a long intro and ask you to like and subscribe 10 times! Id rather keep it brief. :D
This is the BEST Nerf pulse rifle mod i've seen so far, I'm definitely going to use many of your ideas Bro, in order to paint mine that i just got for christmas, finally someone that thinks the way i think about this rifle. And yes i'm going to use Olive Drab too simply because I was going to, and because its the way it looks onscreen, in video games, action figures, its call movie accuracy period end of discussion. I saw many people who completely removed the firing nerf barrel underneath the prop barrel but again, just like you did, i was planning on removing just the tip and paint the rest inside black, so it can keep on firing and using sound effects. The only thing i am not equipped to do is 3D print front grip cause i'm not equipped for that. And I wasn't planning on fixing the magazine, but now that i see the result, I will give it a shot. Can you elaborate on how you fixed the magazine exactly ? Cheers buddy and again, Awesome mod truly ! I am jalous. And by the way just like you, i also hate weathering, i always want my props to looks as new. I have an E-11 Star wars blaster and I kept it just as new, and the funny thing is as time goes by, it weather itself so why bother right ?
Hey! Thanks for the kind words! Im really happy how it came out, especially for a NERF gun. It looks great at a glance. The olive drab : I want a replica of how it looks in the movie, not a replica of the prop. You know what I mean exactly. It's a different shade than my motion tracker but its the only spray I had and looks great. I put a very slight silver rub n buff touch on the high points, barrel tip, switches etc, but its just noticeable. I deliberately wanted to be different from the highly weathered crowd. They must be new at the start right? haha Removing the NERF barrel and shortening the internal barrel back to the heat guards works super easy and is super clean. It fires just as well and you cant see it at all. A friend 3d printed the grip for me and it fits perfectly. There is a big difference between the NERF and the actual size when you see them side by side. The NERF looks fine otherwise. For the magazine, I removed the bottom (undo screws and it slips off over some little notches), remove the notches with a small file. I traced the pattern (nerf base top plate) onto paper (its in two parts - you dont need the top later). I then copied that onto the MDF sheet (8mm i think?) and cut it out. I put the magazine in the blaster and slid the MDF piece on so it had the exact clearance (it sits lower because of the thickness) and epoxied it on. Then epoxied on the Nerf bottom plate. Then shaped it to the right angle and puttied it smooth. Looks so much better. The right shape adds so much to the profile. If you need any other info or photos let me know, ill get you my email. When you take the whole thing apart it seems daunting, keep all the parts in a safe place, but it goes back easy. Take reference photos as you go! Cheers! Happy bug hunting!
This is the best example I’ve seen on UA-cam
@@user-xs7ph7gx2o thanks!
btw I filled the screw holes with EVA after I did the video, so you dont seem them filled here.

Great build on the nerf rifle - I get mine soon and I am totally gonna copy that barrel customization... Looks close enough for me as a prop
Great tutorial, one of the best I've seen on UA-cam. Where did you get the 3D printed grip?

I’m sure it’s a great mod but I couldn’t barely read a line or two and forget trying to sneak a peek at the pics.
