    After watching your video and having the exact same issue. The one thing I did as well as change the fuel; filter, was to drain the water from the fuel tank. You have to use the key to unlock the hatch cover located on the front of the machine, open the valve and let some of the fuel/water drain out. That seemed to do the trick. Hopefully this added step will help someone watching who is having this same issue. Like you, I’m out in the middle of nowhere and its hard to get someone to come out or to haul my machine over an hour to the Kubota dealer.

    Thanks Chris. I have the same model with about 500 hours on it and started noticing the exact same problem (power cutting off intermittently at full throttle and sometimes dying). I bought it used, so don’t know when the fuel filter was last changed. I ordered one from Messicks, so we’ll see.

    I had 2 cats and 3 kubota’s and when the fuel tank got low meaning a quarter tank or less you could count on it starting to sputter and lose power or just flat out stall...especially when you were on sloped ground and not sitting level...I could have a quarter of a tank of fuel and if I tipped forward for more than 20 seconds, the machine would run out of fuel and stall...my Cat 305C would do it...my Kubota U55-4 and U35-4 does it...also when I bought the 55 it had very little hours on it when I started having issues with it and there was a fuel check valve recall on the machine and they replaced it and it worked fine after that!!...my advice is to keep it full of fuel and keep the fuel clean and you should have no issues!..good luck!!

    Good day. I just wanted to ask if there is a part two or whether your problem was fixed. I currently have the same problem and so I changed the fuel filter but no fix. I haven't had a chance to further diagnose my issue.

    I'm at the other end of a diggers life, my old KX 121-2 1998 ish had a similar issue, I noticed the glass filter bowl always had some dirt in it, but after running out of fuel none of the fuel purge points would work, I ended up pumping the tank dry and found 20+ years of dirt from cans, literally 3/4 inch of mud and sludge in the bottom of the tank, cleaned it, treated the rust with phosphoric acid, ended up looking like new and 100hrs later virtually no debris in the glass bowl.....morale of the story! fuel funnel filters!

      I certainly hope so. If not, maybe its just one of those weird things that will go away after the machine breaks in a bit 🤞

    had that issue with a KX040 mini ex. turened out that I found small piece of plastic (remnant from tank manufacturing process was lodging against exit tube of tank, plus I found a piece of paint/powder coating flake lodged in the 90 degree fitting for fuel line going into fuel/water seperator. all good now.

      I have a kx040 2019 code 2 then 64. It fires up after about a minute dies down then codes appear again. I replaced the two fuel filters. Drained the tank put fresh diesel. Drained the air out of the system. Still the codes continue spoke to a tech he said it’s a fuel sensor, replaced that then it was a fuel rail sensor replaced that. Now they found a short in the fuel rail sensor red wire. Ran a jumper wire from the rail sensor hot wire to the EUC connector. Still the code appears 2 then 64. Rail presser high and open circuit in rail or coil? $4500 into this and still no results! I hate kubota

    Kinda sounds like what happened on our john Deere Skidsteer. Remember that video where the filter gasket got sucked in the tube that goes to the filter?

    Hopefully it was just the filter, could have been anything, dirty fuel or they didn't clean the tank and lines.. could even be an air leak.. good luck!!

      I hope it was just a fluke. The machine sat out all night in the cold the day I had the issue so maybe that contributed to the problem.

  • @jonstevensmaplegrovefarms3754
    @jonstevensmaplegrovefarms3754 3 роки тому +1

    If its cold out are you using summer fuel?
    Water in the fuel?
    Have seen lots of weird with new stuff. Plastic floating in tanks, plastic shavings in lines..

    • @dehavenfamilyfarm
      @dehavenfamilyfarm  3 роки тому +1

      The small amount of fuel I put in was winter blend- I am not sure what was in it when they brought it. It could have been some water because the power loss happened after the machine had sat out all night it the cold.

    Chris I am not sure if you watch Stoney Ridge Farmer, he's Kubota gator have a device in the exhaust that you have to smack with a rubber hammer, it is part of the service but I know your machine have very low hours, he had a power loss problem until he found that out.

    I wonder sometimes if the problem is from where you buy the fuel. Ive had similar problems. Mostly with gasoline, back 1999 my had a new Chevy Alumina. After six months the fuel filter plugged off. This was happening with a lot people at this particular business. Dirty fuel.

    Hey Chris! I just purchased a kx057-5 after owning several Kubota’s I have been very happy and was extremely happy to see the upgrades to the new -5 however I’m seeing a intermittent power loss or possibly a power restriction? Not sure, the machine only has 6 hours on it and only had about 3 hours when this started. Did this filter swap at such a low hour seem to do the trick long term? This one’s only had the fuel from the dealership in it so it couldn’t be restricted to mine alone if that’s the case.
