"Sign of the Gypsy Queen" was originally written and recorded by Canadian singer Lorence Hud. The song became a hit in Canada when released as a single in 1973.
I love this song❤️. I play old rock cd’s in my truck. I found that when my two year old grandson got “restless”, this song somehow calmed him down and put him to sleep. Listen to “Say Hello” by April Wine , another great song👊👍

Great Canadian rock band. They had their biggest hits in the 70's-80's. Some of my favorites are “You Could Have Been A Lady”, Just Between You & Me”, “Tonight Is A Wonderful Time To Fall In Love”, "Roller", "Before The Dawn", "Oowatanite", "I Like To Rock" etc.
You're right. "Roller" is one of those amazing head-banging tunes. Canada has an impressive history of great music, esp Rock + Roll.
april wine, triumph, the tragically hip, etc. are great summertime listening bands for bbq type get togethers. now i want a burger and some potato salad.

"Sign Of The Gypsy Queen" is off April Wines "The Nature of the Beast" album. That album was huge when I was in High School the song "Just Between You and Me" was the theme song for my Junior Prom. Another song on the album that has vivid memories for me is "Crash and Burn" I was coming back from picking up my paycheck all excited to go out for the night. I was going pretty fast when my 1970 GTO hydroplaned from water on the road and I ended up in the ditch. No harm to myself or the car I just found it ironic that song was playing when it happened.

Lorence Hud was the one who wrote and released it as a single in Canada in 1973, April Wine released on the Nature of the beast LP as a cover in 81 great song, great band, great pick Rob and Angie!

A banger from the 80s. This album could be heard at parties from cars IMO this was their best album they did. I still listen to this album quite a bit and have it on my playlist. Very underrated band and a great band

Another great Canadian band, I've seen them a few times over the years, one of my favourites since I was a teenager. Their genre is hard rock but they do have a lot of great rock & ballad type songs. Check out their live version of Roller, a great rocking song that shows how great the band plays it.🇨🇦

Hey guy's, the Lorence Hud written version of this song is really good too. Lorence actually played every instrument on this song and all of the rest
on the whole LP/CD. You'll find some other nice songs on this first LP. Some other very good April Wine songs that you and your commenters should

I suspect a lot of people will point you to their song “Roller”, but “Just Between You And Me” is one of my favorite songs of the 80’s. I’ve loved it since watching it over and over on early MTV.
