Basically we took away our freedoms to travel. And for what?? What did we actually get. Nothing.

It was all to protect their off shore accounts and make the wealthy wealthier. They had no regards to our rights and protection or needs. But they had to lie to convince people. Thank God l smelt a rat. What planet is she on?
@@dwhovian6731 We have lost so much - cynically I could say that it was a way of transferring wealth to the already wealthy. Our poorest 20% is now poorer that Poland's poorest 20%.
@@robertbose990 haha even my Mum's Polish plumber is laughing as he packed and moved back to the much more affordable and prosperous Poland. But don't worry, the UK is hard at work with trade deals with, um, Chad and Fiji, so it'll be all right soon enough. Utter insanity.
Apparently something something sovereignty and something something fish 🙄🙄
This Belinda woman is the best argument for rejoining
You might have a long wait for that
First, there’s NO SUCH THING as “..,rejoining”, because EU law offers no mechanism whereby an ex-member can rejoin.
Second, the UK’s previous, privileged, semi-detached, membership status, replete with rebates, opt-outs and continuous special treatment, evaporated the moment the referendum result was announced. It will NEVER be on offer again.
Back in reality, the European Commission is utterly unlikely to even open the envelope containing the UK’s FOURTH membership application for the next 35-50 YEARS!
The UK is free to apply, but any new accession treaty will be on the same terms as ANY OTHER applicant country.
Lastly, Ms de Lucy is a very strong argument for any UK application to be vetoed....
unfortunately she is also the argument why this is not within reach
Why are you scared about the UK making its own laws and having its own freedom?
@@thebossguide4859 The freedom to comply with the E.U rules without any influence .
The woman in the green dress is bonkers. Clearly. We can make our own rules. Well, we actually used to participate in decision making in the EU. Now we cannot. And she complains about it. The ten year max passport rule is an EU rule. We are OUT. Get over it!
The quality of TV journalism is so poor - the host was not able to ask the lady in green any pertinent questions - she was more interested in getting the people on the phones - TBH I don't want to listen to the ill-informed on the phone.
Yep bonkers Belinda - international law (in other words agreement) is dangerous. I thought disagreement might be slightly more dangerous.
Totally agree with you, what a nasty woman she is.
Yep, an EU rule which applies to all 'third country' passport holders. She bleats on as though the EU has singled out UK passports - butter ollocks.
Belinda is talking complete nonsense.
Total Brexiteer tripe!
She's still using the same pseudo arguments of the 2016 referendum, as reality has kicked in, new arguments can't be found.

What benefits? 🥱🤔
I noticed that, too 😂
Same when they talk about how 'undemocratic' the EU is. They probably never voted in the EU elections...
Brixit has been very, VERY beneficial, for the EU!
For starters, support for EU membership has significantly increased, even in historically Euro-sceptic countries like Denmark.
Support for even holding an ‘In-Out’ referendum, where constitutionally possible, has fallen off a cliff.
And we have seen, POST-Brixit, that our union is more cohesive, and faster-reacting.
Thanks, Brixiteers!
Not all of us voted to leave for any kind of benefit
When comparing the UK with Germany, people on the British side always forget that Germany is much richer than the UK and people in Germany earn a lot more with a moderate cost of living. Even the poor are richer than poor people in the UK. Germany also has universal health care but no waiting lists. There is free education, cheap public transport and the unemployment rate is lower than in Britain. Germany is not a land of milk and honey, but the people are far better off than the British. The slight recession that both countries are currently experiencing is not hitting the Germans as hard as the Brits.
Exactly.
Wealth is better distributed in Germany and energy, food and transport costs less. Also the UK Brexited partly because of the EU Anti-Tax Avoidance Directive that we knew was coming in 2019.
@@triffid68 that was exactely the reason together with monopoly control which Uncle Rupert did want not to happen ( to him !)

Belinda De Lucy was a member of the Brexit Party that stood down in 2019 in order to get Johnson’s deal through. It was agreed in writing before they stood down so it seems hypocritical to complain that they didn’t get the Brexit they wanted when they active brought it in to being.
She has the ultimate get out of stupid card and that is to simply say that Brexit was not "done properly" - if it had been we'd all be zillionaires by now.
this blond lady is the perfect example of never date a tory nor pay her any attention.
Brexit was essentially like building a 30ft solid wall around your house and expecting to get to the local supermarket the same as before. After scaling the ladder and climbing down the rope, you must queue up and show ID to get in the store, then everything in your trolley must have paperwork, any meat will need a vet's certificate, ditto with fruit and veg, and when you get to the check-out, not only are you paying more, but you'll have to wait 2-3 weeks before delivery - Brexit was always going to be a disaster.
wrong, you want to be governed by foreigners - unelected foreigners. I do not. The EU is in a mess - Germany in recession - yet the traitorous remoaners have long wanted to stop brexit and remain tied to the faceless bureaucrats in Brussels.
What "disaster"? What a profoundly stupid thing to say.
I think your response is actually profoundly stupid. The lady in green didn’t come up with a single positive impact of Brexit. The UK economy is 4% smaller.
@@greattobeadub The 4% figure is conjecture - based on a hypothetical situation. The chief advantage of Brexit is that the UK has recovered its sovereignty and will avoid being absorbed into a European megastate.
@@dogglebird4430 The best of luck with that. You'll need it.
Germany is the last country UK should be comparing with in the EU. Germany alone can bankroll the whole of the EU. Their manufacturing industries are massive and even in a recession their GDP is soo much higher than the UK who is also in a recession

Back in reality, pensioners in Ireland get approximately TWICE the UK’s weekly rate, as well as a much greater range of secondary benefits.
Based on this show... I can't take the UK serious anymore.
When I listen to people like Belinda as an EU citizen and someone who was totally against Brexit I hope the UK does not re join anytime soon we doing fine without the UK Thank you.
You gotta have a bit of sympathy for the 48%, though. 😊
I never voted for this.
You aren't though are you? You're wef controlled to allow mass immigration like all the west.
The 52% seem more angry and up for a fight. It's hilarious.
Gotta agree…unfortunately, until it registers in everybody’s mind how they made an uninformed decision out of pure ignorance and naïveté, Britain cannot be allowed to rejoin, otherwise they will just continue their cherry picking and be a hindrance to the European project.
We have enough to deal with Poland and Hungary…
we used to pass hundreds of uk laws whilst being in the EU. The only eu laws we exercised our power of veto were the ones abolition of tax havens, Schengen and the Euro. Very odd
Uk is not united anymore
Never has been urban myth 😂
Hasn't been United for years
I am really tired of the EU as being described as undemocratic. I, as a British citizen, had no vote in the referendum, which took away all my other EU voting rights. If anything, the UK was far more undemocratic, and I was basically living under a dictatorship.
As an EU citizen I get very annoyed by people in the UK describing the EU as undemocratic especially as you live in a country that has an antiquated First Past the Post electoral system and an unelected House of Lords sort that out and then they can lecture the rest of us .
Why didn't you have a vote?
So if you love it so much, why don’t you move to the EU??? No balls??🤷🏻♂️

In Germany everything still functions, while the UK is literally falling apart.
@@jonathanscott7372 Germany has since become the third largest economy in the World - overtaking Japan and only behind the USA and China. Something that doesn’t get widely reported in the UK. It does have problems, but most of those problems are to do with finding alternatives to Russian oil.
Belinda utters just ideological BS.
@@rory7590 Russian gas, but pretty much
Where are the benefits of Brexit? The woman in the green dress never said when asked.
An the old go to Germany’s in recession - nothing to do with being in the EU. It’s due to their economy being dependent on Russian oil and gas that’s no longer available.
German here: No, that's wrong! Firstly, Germany hardly bought any oil from Russia, but rather gas. But although Germany now has other suppliers, the price of gas has fallen to the level of 2019, so there are no problems with oil and gas. Germany also does not generate electricity from gas like the UK. And only 50% of Germans heat with gas, while in Great Britain it is around 80%. - The problem: Germany produces enough renewable energy, but has to shut down wind turbines because the power grid is not ready. This means that electricity from other European countries has to be purchased unnecessarily, which leads to higher electricity costs. In addition, the global economy is weakening, which makes it difficult for an export nation like Germany to sell products when demand is falling.
We would love to be in Germany's shoes. Their economy is going through a dip, but the national wealth and financial strength is miles ahead of where we dream to be. LSE studies have the French and Germans being 13% and 14% respectively more productive than their British counterparts.
The health system, social care, road maintenance, full supermarket shelves all function in Germany, whereas in the UK............... We have none of the problems that the UK has after brexit
Very true .@@stephenconway2468

The fact that none of the current member states WANTS to leave is a totally different issue....
"Unelected dictatorship"?
Your ignorance concerning the EU is just awesome.
You literally haven't got a single, solitary, clue.....
Belinda De Lucy is way off the mark. The British people have gained nothing from Brexit and lost loads. We do not have control or self-determination because we still have to abide by EU rules and we no longer have a say in them. De Lucy couldn't give one single verifiable example of a Brexit benefit. Also the ECHR protects the rights of British citizens which is essential with our government who would deprive us of them at the drop of a hat.
She though, like other Brexit grifters, has more to gain in continuing to promote a fantasised version of Brexit, than accepting the reality of the British people & industry. None of these "Brexit is wonderful " merchants can give one single genuine Brexit benefit. (they will never divulge their own benefits though )
If you travel to a country outside the EU, these same passport rules apply and have done for decades, so not that big a deal. I completely agree with Nina, compared to the rest of the clusterf*ck of Brexit, this is nothing.
That conman is as thick as mince. The question is what Brexit has achieved that is good. She had nothing worth a damn. What does she say to all the industries that have gone down the tubes. The poverty has gone up, and Brexit is a total disaster, and we are now isolating ourselves and making things worse for all people.
Christ almighty! This kind of bothsidesim on these talk shows is exactly what got us into this mess in the first place. Opinion over facts! Looks like we haven't learnt a thing since 2016! Patrick Minford Paradigm!
We can self determine....under what real world constraints. We are actually now a rules taker as the big boys in the world, US, China and the EU decide global matters. We are not a state in the US, and we are not part of China. We used to be a strong voice in the EU. In case people don't know, we used to lead a group in the EU mainly made up of Ireland, Denmark, Netherlands and Sweden. We out shouted the French on key matters. The majority of standards that the EU has came from us!
The scandal about depuration of shellfish, where we could not export our shellfish caught in polluted waters, was the EU following a standard that we introduced to the EU!
Now we are a rules taker. That is what Brexit self-determination meant and means now.

We don't lock people up because they have differing political views, Hitler.

Who allowed this woman in green to come on this show. She is just repeating the shallow arguments which have led to Brexit snd turned out to be wrong.
What the UK also doesn't seem to understand, is that EU citizens can travel throughout Schengen countries with just an ID card. So many never bother to get a passport, and therefore give the UK a miss. European English language classes are migrating to Ireland, where a ID card suffices for instance..
British tourism industry is livid because the UK government decided that EU identity cards cannot be used for travel to the UK. So many potential visitors now go to other eu countries instead. We used to accept ID cards. Changing that rule was just self harm.

The UK sat on the top table of the EU parliament. While this was the case they wrote agreed to 95% of the very laws the government now say they do not want. The rules are the same for ALL non EU countries and we said we did not want to be a member country. There are no special laws being put in place against the uk.

Someone with an Irish passport living in the UK now has more rights than someone living in the Uk with a British passport! How's that for a Brexit bonus?
Empty green vessels make the most noise :(
The Germany thing again. In Germany you get higher pensions, In Germany, you can find a doctor when you need them, Germany takes many more asylum seekers, has less debt to GDP, better infrastructure (although they have to do more too), is too dependent on Russian oil and their economy has a higher percentage of manufacturing which is more pone for interruptions when energy costs go up.
German here: Not entirely correct, at least about the oil.
Firstly, Germany hardly bought any oil from Russia, but rather gas. But although Germany now has other suppliers, the price of gas has fallen to the level of 2019, so there are no problems with oil and gas. Germany also does not generate electricity from gas like the UK. Losing our EU citizenship also lost us freedom to stay and visit as often as we liked, we could take occasional or full time positions for work, study, retirement or even if you met someone and fell in love we could live anywhere with them in 28 other countries.
Switzerland and Norway are not in the EU but they are in the single market which allows freedom of movement work: travel, residency; retirement and basic medical allowances without having to prove income or medical insurance. Which is how it should be. We are Europeans and I for one miss the valuable opportunities that came with EU citizenship. Its funny how this woman mentions "Sovereignty" as being the key reason for Brexit. Fine. But when i mention to Brexit voters how about 5% of our laws were made in Brussels, about 45% of Scottish laws are made in Westminster, so obviously if Sovereignty is REALLY what its all about and not just some weird Ideological dislike of mean Europeans then logically they MUST support Scottish Independence when it comes back round?
