Nailed it. That’s one of my favorite solos (I cant play it)...but I remember how especially mind bending it was when it first came out.
What inspired you to learn it...and how did you go about it?
David Hallowell Thanks! I think it’s a really futuristic song :) considering that it was released in 1978. I think it inspired many musicians of the eighties...I studied it using the function “slow motion” of UA-cam.
Ahh - thanks. I remember lifting the needle on vinyl back when -- slow motion would have been a boon. I'd forgotten it was 1978 ... absolutely ahead of its time.
Have you watched the video of Gino performing the song with a whole orchestra (in Sweden or some European setting?).

Di sicuro tecnicamente é un po’ avanzato rispetto ai due fantastici ed epici soli di cui parlavi. Kid Charlemagne forse é piú semplice. Ad ogni modo sono due bei soli ed in entrambi i casi avrai scelto bene ;) buon studio!! 🎸🎸

Fa davvero piacere ascoltare la raffinatezza e il gusto del più bel solo di Carlos Rios, era il 1978 e si iniziavano a percorrere le strade della fusion, del jazz elettrico...Complimenti davvero per l'assoluto controllo del bending e per la pulizia di esecuzione. Cosa ha usato per amplificare quella meravigliosa top flamed PRS ? Canta che è una delizia !!!

Hi, currently there are only the tablature and the video with the solo played slowly.
I'm organizing to write the scores also through a software but doing it by hand would be a big job and I should waste a lot of time.
In the future I will use a midi guitar and a software that will allow me to write the scores while I play.
In this way I will only have to refine what the program wrote.
Follow the channel, when the scores are available I will write it in the title.

Ciao, scusa ma non mi era arrivata la notifica del commento. La backing track è un file midi scaricato in rete. Basta caricarlo in un programma tipo Garage Band o Logic e vengono applicati i suoni dalle librerie stesse del programma.
