Tashi, rescued after MONTHS of suffering - Stray Rescue of St.Louis

- Donna has been tracking this poor girl with a prolapsed rectum....for MONTHS! She finally found her today when a man walking by said “yea, I know the dog you’re talking about, she’s been going in there” and pointed to a crumbling, abandoned house. The house was barely still standing and the only way in was across a weak, narrow board. And since that was the only way in, it would be the only way out as well....You'll have to see this rescue to believe it.
But thankfully everyone made it out safe. Tashi (which means Good Fortune) is in our trauma center now getting the emergency care she desperately needs after months of suffering. We're not sure how she survived this long on her own.
Dr. Schulz and our amazing vet techs are going to place a “purse string” today, a suture technique to temporarily hold in the rectum and hopefully give it a chance to heal, but she could still need additional procedures in her future. For now, we are hopeful and so thankful she is not alone in that deplorable house tonight all alone and afraid.
Tonight, let’s virtually “cheers” one another and Donna after getting this dog she’s been worried sick about for months. When they arrived we hugged her knowing how stressed she has been about this dog. She burst into tears, so much relief and worry released. She is finally safe and getting everything she needs.

I can’t imagine trying to carry that dog out of that house when the surrounding ground looked so unsafe! Kudos to you and thank you for helping that poor dog.

Poor baby...the places where you find them are so dangerous. It's a wonder how they get around in them..so sad! Pray he recovers! As well as gets a forever home. What's so sad too is so many rescues are pits or mixed or ones that are perceived dangerous and mean..nothing could be further from the truth..they need Love n compassion n care...they're no different than any other dog! too many backyard breeders, private owners breed so many. Look in the shelters, some kill shelter and it's mostly large dogs and those are mostly pit bulls or mixes of them. Shameful. We need more consequences for humans doing this, not the animal facing the negative consequences. People let this dog down. We need more animal welfare laws. Thank You for saving this dog.
Jeez that looks like a terrifying rescue. You must have to suck up that fear of shooting through the floor or having a ceiling land on you to accomplish that. Thank you for getting her out of there, and glad you all came out in one piece too!
These ruins should be pulled down, the rubble taken away and the owners charged for the removal of all the rubbish because poor Donna and the team from Stray Rescue shouldnt have to put their lives in danger just to save these poor dogs! Donna when I think about all the dogs and pups you have saved you are truly a Hero!

I know someone who has a double prolapse and she tells me it's more painful than Labour when she had her 4 kids, all the pain from all of the 4 times put together. I can't believe how derelict st. louis is, i've never seen so many abandoned houses anywhere....poor pup, hope she's good now.
I know I live in an area of mass that honestly is starting to become so poverty stricken & so much alcohol problems etc in the area it's starting to look like this area & I can't believe the stray pups I've seen around now & again it is just tragic! Thank God for Donna & St. Louis animal rescue

These abandoned houses are unreal. I am always so worried that Donna is going to step on a nail, or worse, go through a floorboard, but she knows what she is doing. This poor baby!!! So glad you got her!

The cities fell apart without tax income and the decaying family structures were replaced by gang loyalties. And those gangs engage in dogfights, backyard breeding and… well, these fine women rescue the dogs who manage to escape alive.

Why, why, why is it almost always pit bulls that end up in these horrific situations?? When I saw that poor pup with her neck down I just started crying. Donna, you & your crew must be angels. I've never even seen a pup snap at you. Its like they just know you are their savior. I bet Jesus was a lot like you.
Psychotic inbred gangbangers of several ethnic origins use them as clout symbols and then horribly mistreat them. The one's that escape without being turned into snapping crazies are basically trying to hide from their tormentors.

In Saint Louis, an important American city, it is shocking so many once beautiful homes are abandoned and deteriorated. Who knows how many stray dogs and cats are hiding in these "haunted houses"?

It’s so hard to see them just broken. Hopeless. Donna and all the crew have moved me. I worry about their safety and admire their bravery. I live in upstate and donate to this charity because I feel their truthfulness, their kindness, and their love to these animals.

Every time I see one of these rescues, it makes me feel even more tender for my own dog. He came from a shelter but was a surrender so probably has never suffered like Tashi, and he never will. I have a credit card that’s for nothing except a vet emergency.

Thank you for rescuing the dogs in the city. As a UK citizen I find it hard to believe this goes on. The state should have a free microchip, spay and neuter programme. Surely it would be a tremendous benefit for the poor animals to spend some tax dollars on.
Poor baby, she's got to be feeling lost and all alone, thank God you went for her, my heart aches everytime I see an animal alone and suffering. God bbn less you for helping them.
These derelict old homes that were once beautiful and kept a family safe & warm are so tragic. At least they provide a little shelter to outcast dogs.

My god she looks terrified! Poor girl has suffered a lot! When you show her at the end she looks just like my pit they are identical except mines a male. Donna does amazing work I live in Florida but if I lived there I would foster fail everytime! Thank you for all you do for our fur babies.
