I have had 3 rescued American Akita's and currently 1 rescued Akita Inu. If there were any issues about the 4 of them I would say the Akita Inu looks very sweet and cute but looks are deceiving. 🩹👀
"American" Akitas are actually Japanese also. They are a result of the crossing with German Shepherds and Mastiffs. There are lots of Akita Inus in America.
I would say there are move American Akitas then Akita Inu. The American Kennel club does reconize American Akitas but not Akita Inu Japan reconizes both.
If my Akita got loose maybe chasing after animals, he would not harm a person, he is an extension of me now, people always approach and want to meet him, he expects to be loved on even by strangers if they have good intent,
@@HighSpeedNoDrag I currently have one of those. He loves me but doesn't want the attention from others including human and k-9. He does think he is dumbo and wants to fly after birds. No problem with Coyotes they give off another smell. Other wildlife is o.k. as well.
there is no better feeling than running your fingers through a freshly washed akita. Our boy American has more of a Japanese features, and he is incredible to touch after a bath... if you have never felt this, you just cannot understand it.
"Akita" from US should have different name because is a completely different breed. The real Akita is gorgeous, intelligent, without odor, clean, souls reader....
No Akitas "American or inu " are from America both are from Japan if you do some research you would know this Their are pictures of America Akita in Japan before there was American Akita in America
What are you saying ? That American Akitas are ugly, stupid, dirty and smelly ??? You must be mistaken, that's not a dog you see. it's your own reflection in a mirror .
@@mikeweber8499 american akita have more mastiff and shepherd blood & looks japanese akita is more original looks both has same roots akita inu strongly mix with mastiff and shepherd in ww2 era in japan, american soldiers brought back this type of akita(mastiff shepherd mix type), japanese akita is try to return pure blood akita after ww2,that is japanese akita now body size and character is different
No proof at all of German shepherd in American Akitas Some mastiff but don't know where it came from The black color of America Akitas probably comes from the Sakhalin husky

***Correction, Helen Keller is Not the reason the Japanese Akita "migrated" to North America. After World War II, American Servicemen became fond of the dog and brought the Akita back with them hence, the North American Akita.
Where did I mention Helen Keller was the reason the Akita "migrated" to North America? The video says "she was credited with bringing the first Akita Inu to America," which she was. She brought Kamekaze-Go to America in 1937. World War II ended in 1945.
My Akita studied under a reiki grand master for 25 years in Japan to get in touch with his spirit animal samurai familiar. Do to suicide pact non disclosure contract, and this comment bringing dishonor to my family's mcdojo... And dog park reputation....
I understand an akita being willing to die to defend me, but id be willing to die to defend my loyal girl
De akita inu zijn zeer kindvriendelijk en heel familiaal aangelegd. Onze Akita inu is echt een TOPHOND
The Akita Inu, doesn't have an intimidating presence...however, the American Akita does!

What does it have to do with it?American
You forgot to include that the Akita was actually bred from the Japanese Wolf.
9:42 ngl that picture is kinda disturbing
Any additional facts, yes people use their Akita pets against care workers who are trying to help, reality is they dont need help but are scrounging
whats the difference between an American and Japanese akita? I cant tell
First . . . I think
Nice, but don't use Shiba Inu footage to represent Akitas please 🙄🙄
