I’ve just recently upgraded from the previous clubman JCW to the all new 2020 model and man it’s a hell lot of fun owning that thing! With 70ps more than the previous model it’s a real rocket. Unlike you I really miss the popping that the previous one was doing. Just made it even more aggressive. I totally agree with you about what makes this car special: the personality. People love it. And I’m not speaking about car lovers in particular but everyone! My 70 years old neighbour looks at it with the same smile as her 4 year old granddaughter. It makes heads turn and it also makes quite some other drivers of sports cars in a way higher price range curse when this beast wins against them as soon as the red light turns green. I got it for the practicality as a daily driver. It has plenty of space. People in the back can sit very comfortably even on long journeys and you can literally fit half of your household in the booth. My alternative was the new CLA 45 AMG but to have the same size I would’ve needed to opt for the shooting brake and there is quite a price difference there if you want to have the same configurations. All in all I’m very happy with this little devil! I have pretty much the same exterior specs as in this video.
It took me ages to find the Mini I wanted because over the years it’s come in so many different specs and finishes picking one can take ages. Mines only a 2005 model but it just has that fun factor without breaking the bank
I had a ‘15 manual Cooper S and it was the ultimate London daily. I loved it! ‘Upgraded’ to a 17’ Golf GTI and while it’s bigger and way more practical and looks better I’m still missing the Mini, the engine tone and response is just a completely different experience to the very quick but ‘boring’ golf engine.

"Hmm... I like what you've done there. Congratulations." 🤣🤣 This is one of the best reviews on the new Clubman. Certainly agree that it seems pricey. But I went all-in and spec ordered a fully loaded Iconic trim. Don't regret it for a moment. YOLO, right? There's nothing else like it and its closest 'competitors' do not have the character and cool factor. Thanks for this fun review.👍
I have one. an absolute classic. Will never get rid of it. Superb to drive. I have the six speed manual which I highly recommend over the flappy paddle.
I'm surprised how much people seem to like this thing. To me it's the complete opposite of what a mini should be. If I wanted a fast, expensive and relatively luxurious estate car a 2 year old s4 for under 30k seems like a much more attractive proposition. Insightful video non the less Sam. Much appreciated during these times.
Understand what you're saying but not sure the Clubman is trying to be luxurious and at the end of the day, when Aston Martin and Bentley are making SUVs the days of manufacturers sticking to one type of car are behind us. Thanks for watching!

I get this is the JCW and everything, but 0-60 under 5 seconds?! That's verging on outrageous. I was stoked when I bought my 92 Rover Metro GTi to find that it still managed 10 seconds to the 60 mark... for me that's quick enough, still thrashes everything the moment a corner happens, and has enough poke on exit.
