Can’t say there’s false advertising, the title says it all.

    “Extra” “Action”
    Coincidence? I think not!

  • @d3athraz0r22
    @d3athraz0r22 4 роки тому +226

This is a pure action movie that still managed to find time to explore:
Rakes tragic past that affects him
The kids disgust and sadness at being the son of a ruthless drug lord and being treated like a possession
Sajus love and fear for his family, particularly his son
Amirs mentor relationship with that phycho kid
(very briefly) you get to see a bit of rakes friendship with that other aussie guy before things go sour.
That for me is a lot for a movie like this, enough to feel something with each fight scene. Films like this benefit from simple stories so that it gets to focus more on the characters and action. Logan, The last of us, stories like those involving a badass taking care of someone who needs their help dont have convoluted storylines that would just ruin it. Just a simple end goal, and the journey to it and the emotions and rollercoasters that come along with it.

D3ath Raz0r You mention Last Of Us good example of a non movie but video game that dose the same thing simple plot get this girl to the fire flys. It’s what happens from point A to point B the journey and struggles. By the time you finish that game you feel you have grown with Joel and Ellie and you see that transformation of Joel not giving to shits just looks at Ellie as a job to complete to now he sees her like his own daughter to were he do anything to save her it’s a great simple story. I hate films with complicated plots and sub plots and it drags the film down to a crawl

And also in his role as a villian (cult leader type) in "Bad Times at the El Royale" from 2019.. Many people didn't watch that movie either and yes it's not a movie for everyone, some people didn't like that role, some did, I love it because it's a way different role than the ones we are used to see him... The scenes that are more emotional for me, would be when Saju was beaten up, but the first thing he did in the hotel room was to call his wife and son, he knew he couldn’t catch up to Tyler so he was waiting for death.
When the kid talked about him feeling everyone was treating him like a possession but not a person
When Tyler stop caring about the ten million cash, and fought his friend to save the boy. Because that is when he stop treating the kid like a possession. And I feel for the kid because that is probably the first real father moment he have.
When Saju got killed distracting the mercenaries from the kid.
When Tyler stayed behind to stop the mercenaries from catching the kid, but got killed.
So this movie is pretty well written. I feel if the Netflix label is gone and it premiered it would be a blockbuster

I respect your opinion. But I really disagree. The movie is 2 h and that’s literally all we get. And most of it is not played out long enough to sink in. I think this is super bare bones. I watched it because of the action but I wasn’t touched emotionally in the slightest. Everything apart from the action was super cliché. I couldn’t take it seriously. The last third of the movie I involuntarily had to laugh at the ridiculousness of what’s happening. They even have a boss fight with a sniper.

No Tyler wanted to save the kid because he couldn’t save his own. He wasn’t there for his sons passing and he didn’t wanna make that mistake again. Im sorry you lost your job and your housing during this crisis. Thank God you do have your mom and you should tell her you love her every chance you get because life goes by so quickly and life is so fragile in terms of one minute you have a good job and your own place and the next minute everything is gone. All moms are not perfect, they make mistakes like anyone else but the one thing you can always count on while your mom is still on the Earth is a mother's love for her children and even when you move out of the house when you become an adult and go out on your own, mothers know you will struggle because they did as well and you never stop being a parent even when your kids are out on their own. That's why you tell your mother you love her and buy her something small, even just a card and she will appreciate it immensely because someday your mom won't be there because she has passed on to the next journey if you know what i mean. Im 38 and a single dad with 2 kids and my mother helps me with them more than she should and it makes me tear up sometimes thinking she does it all for love of her son and love of her grandchildren.

*Spoiler:* I thoroughly enjoyed it as an action movies with a simple premise. Some felt it would have been better with more backstory on the kid. I agreed with your analysis until I saw the movie myself. This kid was just a package for Tyler, so we got to know the kid through Tyler's eyes, seeing when he no longer saw the kid as just a package. We see the kid dislikes the fact that his father kills people and reflects on the suffering of the victim's family in the aftermath, showing empathy for others, unlike his father, He seems to be kind, caring and well versed, based on his comment on drowning . He said his father sees him as a thing, not a person. And despite the fact that his father doesn't like his piano playing, he does it anyway. So he is his own person. Also he is smart enough to fully understand the situation he is in and how this situation would normally play out, no begging or pleading, a strong character, unwilling to bend to the ill will of others. So we see he is someone who most-likely will not turn out like his father and worth saving. Also it gave Tyler peace being there for the kid, since he wasn't there during the death of his own son, a bit of closure. So we know about this kid from Tyler's perspective, making us enter his role and asking our-self "what would I do in this situation?"

Part of social distancing guidelines is that you don't allow people into your home if they don't already live there, and you don't go visit them. It may be difficult, but it's to keep everyone safe. My own brother isn't allowed inside, and it sucks, but he goes out for various necessities, meaning I have no clue who he comes into contact with, and I have a compromised immune system. No one has any idea how much first- and second-hand contact people are making every day, and with whom. When we assume everyone is asymptomatic, things become a lot safer.
