The scenes that are more emotional for me, would be when Saju was beaten up, but the first thing he did in the hotel room was to call his wife and son, he knew he couldn’t catch up to Tyler so he was waiting for death. I loved that scene, especially when the idiot teen tried to menace him with the knife saying " I will murder you " and Rake just slaps him to the ground and goes " fuck off! "
The opening scene where the kid hangs out with his friends, and roams around in his mansion all alone, and saju scolding him for hanging out with friends is in my opinion good characterization for the kid
Sahil Sehdev that’s right! Plus that scene in bed when he tells the story of been at dinner with his dad after his dad killed someone’s dad that same day. That tells a lot in so little about a kid who’s father is a gangster!! If he would have said more, they be complaining about focusing on the kid too much!! 😂😂
Agreed - there was more characterisation of Tyler, Saju and the kid than I would expect in a movie like this. Even the kid who fires the last shot at Tyler gets some development too. Not sure what this reviewer was expecting tbh.
I just saw the film earlier because I heard good things about Chris Hemsworth, and he is, but my God that 11-minute take was gorgeous to watch. Otherwise, I agree whole-heartedly with Chris in giving the film a B.

My mom used to be a professional hairdresser. During all this I lost my job and my housing so I'm back home, so that means I currently get haircuts for free. Gotta look at the plus side during all this
Im sorry you lost your job and your housing during this crisis. Thank God you do have your mom and you should tell her you love her every chance you get because life goes by so quickly and life is so fragile in terms of one minute you have a good job and your own place and the next minute everything is gone. All moms are not perfect, they make mistakes like anyone else but the one thing you can always count on while your mom is still on the Earth is a mother's love for her children and even when you move out of the house when you become an adult and go out on your own, mothers know you will struggle because they did as well and you never stop being a parent even when your kids are out on their own. That's why you tell your mother you love her and buy her something small, even just a card and she will appreciate it immensely because someday your mom won't be there because she has passed on to the next journey if you know what i mean. Im 38 and a single dad with 2 kids and my mother helps me with them more than she should and it makes me tear up sometimes thinking she does it all for love of her son and love of her grandchildren.
Lol you live with your mum! Jokes 😂😂 as long as you have a roof over your head and food to eat then lifes okay....remember there's always someone out there that has it way worse. ✌
Ovi showed plenty of character in this movie. He was a smart and sensitive young man with a good heart. He showed sympathy towards Tyler's son's death, wisdom with the line about drowning, AND he expressed disgust knowing that his father kills people. The movie even started with him doing regular kid stuff with his friends. His performance was believable and well done; I don't know how much more we could have asked for.
I think the problem arises when the fiction itself is so poorly written or created in such a half hearted way and unconvincing that it makes it almost impossible to suspend our belief when a movie requires it's audience to do so or when a movie wants to be taken seriously but the writing and content simply can't match up and is full of cringey WTF moments and dialogues throughout.
Everyone is talking about Chris Hemsworth. His character is super duper in a movie and Chris had done fantastic job in movie but randeep hooda had also done a great job bt I'm sad nobody is talking about him.He deserves 👏

Other critics say pretty much what Stuckman says. Excellent action scenes very well choreographed and edited but the plot and chracterization leaves a lot to be desired. But if you want to watch this movie expecting exactly that, then you will be pleasantly surprised. Im definitely going to watch it very soon. I always thought Chris Hemsworth gets a bad rap as an actor but i think with the right script and right director and a character that plays to his strengths, Hemsworth can hold his own like he did as Thor in all the Avengers movies.

That is what life is like for a kid of an imprisoned drug lord. These quick visual images to show how alone the kid is when not hanging out with his friends
Sahil Sehdev the kid even said how he felt about his father and how his father feels about him. And the father confirmed those feelings by only caring about being humiliated...I thought they did a good job with the time and pace they had
Considering this was a directorial debut, that one-shot was really impressive regardless of being able to notice where the cuts are. Plus Hemsworth towering over most of the goons only improves the fight scenes.

The kid who played Ovi was believable, likable, and not annoying at all. That is rare. I was pleasantly surprised, all in all.

This was a good action movie PERIOD!!! Waaaaaay better and more captivating than I expected from a Netflix movie. Camera work was insane and the stunts were very well coordinated. I think it achieves what it set out to.
TBH, Extraction might be my favorite new release of the year so far. I am a big action buff and this movie is like a treat for me. Everyone shines in this movie, and I have not expected this movie to be this good. Overall I am very impressed with this movie. So, 8/10.
Really? This movie bored the hell out of me. I am a true action buff too but this movie just didn't work for me. Did you see Unisol Regeneration? What did you think of that one?
*Spoiler:* I thoroughly enjoyed it as an action movies with a simple premise. Some felt it would have been better with more backstory on the kid. I agreed with your analysis until I saw the movie myself. This kid was just a package for Tyler, so we got to know the kid through Tyler's eyes, seeing when he no longer saw the kid as just a package. We see the kid dislikes the fact that his father kills people and reflects on the suffering of the victim's family in the aftermath, showing empathy for others, unlike his father, He seems to be kind, caring and well versed, based on his comment on drowning . He said his father sees him as a thing, not a person. And despite the fact that his father doesn't like his piano playing, he does it anyway. So he is his own person. Also he is smart enough to fully understand the situation he is in and how this situation would normally play out, no begging or pleading, a strong character, unwilling to bend to the ill will of others. So we see he is someone who most-likely will not turn out like his father and worth saving. Also it gave Tyler peace being there for the kid, since he wasn't there during the death of his own son, a bit of closure. So we know about this kid from Tyler's perspective, making us enter his role and asking our-self "what would I do in this situation?"
@@adambeers06 Social distancing means if you go out in public, try to stay six feet away from others. It means don't gather in large crowds. It does not mean don't let any friend or family member near you or in your house. I can't actually believe people need that explained to them.

Mike D The scenes that are more emotional for me, would be when Saju was beaten up, but the first thing he did in the hotel room was to call his wife and son, he knew he couldn’t catch up to Tyler so he was waiting for death.
When the kid talked about him feeling everyone was treating him like a possession but not a person
When Tyler stop caring about the ten million cash, and fought his friend to save the boy. Because that is when he stop treating the kid like a possession. And I feel for the kid because that is probably the first real father moment he have.
When Saju got killed distracting the mercenaries from the kid.
When Tyler stayed behind to stop the mercenaries from catching the kid, but got killed.
So this movie is pretty well written. I feel if the Netflix label is gone and it premiered it would be a blockbuster

Agree, his character development after he killed a man and at the end at the pool.

I'm sorry you lost your job, and I can say be happy you have your mom. What I would give to have my mom and dad right now.

Hey you have seen the movie so can I ask you a question about the very end?
It was a fun movie. My father never ever watches a movie twice, this was the 1st time he did.
