I have a bit mixed feelings about Extraction 2. The action in Extraction 2 is extremely well made, clearly better than the action in Extraction 1 (which was also very good). Also I appreciate that they tried to put some character development into it, though those scenes slowed the tempo down a bit too much. I think the story of Extraction 1 is a bit better and also I even prefer the limited character development in the first move to the attempts to do the same in the second. But I did have a very good time seeing both movies, so in the end they both get my thumbs up!
One thing I absolutely love about this movie is how they portray a woman realistically performing in combat. And Golshifteh definitely delivered in that. Now don't get me wrong. She definitely kicked ass but she also had some struggles which are definitely realistic to how women would be on the battlefield. Chris Hemsworth's Tyler Rake also had his struggles but he handles them much better in a sense that he's a lot tankier than Golshifteh's Nik Khan is even though both are just as well-trained as each other. On top of all of the combat stuff, the way Tyler Rake and Nik Khan interact with one another in heart to heart moments are always a treat. You always get the sense that maybe they might get together, maybe not, but at the end of the day, they are partners. Not necessarily in the romantic sense but as badass buddies. In short, she's not a girlboss. She's just a woman.
Just finished watching it. Didn’t think a sequel would top the first film because it was so well done but I was dead wrong 😳 This is easily in my top 5 favourite/recommended action movies of all time now

The story was atrocious and the dialogue felt weird.. then I saw one of the Russo’s wrote it and it made sense.. some of their dialogue sometimes ends up sounding off.
The first one was good to me. This one man...real trash. Still cant get over the fact that Rack held onto the pole after being shot in the middle of his palm. Mann..I wanted to turn off at that point.
Went in with fairly low expectations as the first one was ok, all I remember is Chris beating the crap out of some guy for 10 mins straight and some clever stunts. This one is next level in every way possible. Better story, better dialogue, bigger budget, better stunts, etc. The prison yard scene is nuts and if you're anything like me you'll be laughing a few times at the epicness of the action scenes. Can recommend and am looking forward to part 3.
This movie feels a lot like The Raid 1&2.. The fighting, the hand to hand combat, the shot continuity, the prison riot scene, the karambit weapon used for fighting, the brutality of using anything to be a weapon, the knives stabs, and a lot more.. I enjoyed it.. this movie deserves to be in theatres. I love how nik & yaz gets bigger role in action. Will there be extraction 3? I hope so
This movie should have been a theatrical release. It's my favorite movie of the year so far. Netflix dropped the ball by not having it on the big screen. It's not too late. I recommend they get it on some screens if they can.
Extraction’s 1 & 2 we’re amazing and I only hope they put the same amount of effort and care into the 3rd one. And that it’s released in the theaters. And I have to say, Golshifteh Farahani is easily my celebrity/Hollywood crush. She’s absolutely gorgeous and a complete bada**.
i like the formula of what they're doing to this franchise. the heart of the story has let them film in different countries giving these countries the opportunity to shine.
Simple is better when it comes to action. Let’s all take a moment to appreciate that this is 80’s Commando that has been refurbished, renovated, and updated.
3:59 LOL the laugh is contagious. I loved the action in this movie and this is exactly the reaction I was hoping for from you, Chris. I kept thinking "this is giving John Wick a run for his money."
Got a chance to check this out early in theaters. It was amazing. Sam Hargrave spoke about some of the scenes. He said the train and helicopter scene was practical. The next one should be in theaters for a lil bit.
It's so surprising when Thor is able to be so agile, I guess that Asgardian armor really weighed him down. I love it when big guys are graceful. Of course he also smashes things, and that's good too.
The son really passed me off. How on earth can you watch your dad beat the holy he'll out of your mom and still think he's a good, and then get passed off at the good guy for killing him in defending your mom's life?!
I got all the way into the one-take shot to where the camera 'flies' up to the overpass and starts following a different antagonist into the building I had to stop and go this has been one single shot for how long? Rewind...wow, well done, and it's still going!
I enjoyed this one more than John Wick 4 tbh but I also realize that is a purely personal thing. The "Wick-verse" and the whole "cabal ruling the world"-thing doesn't appeal to me, but the self-contained nature of the Extraction movies really do.
Great action film. Up to par and I would say even a little better than the first one. Anyone caught the director cameo with Sam Hargrave digging the hole before the villain drops the suit guy at the beginning of the film?
I saw both Extraction 2 and JohnWick 4 this weekend for the first time. I loved both but honestly I think I liked extraction 2 a little better. It kinda reminded me of The Raid. Really liked it and can’t wait to see the next.
Oh man the funniest death to me was that dude that was unconscious and he slid of the side of the building. Man such an awful way to go out, I couldn’t help but 😂 😂
Hemsowrth being in some of the most hated franchise movies made in the last couple years (Thor: Dark World and L&T) and MIB: International has really overshadowed the fact that he's an underrated actor.
The action of this film is insane. I absolutely love the camera work as well it makes you feel like you're in there great work i'd give this movie a 10/10. Chris Wick 🔥
It’s Hemsworths version of John Wick. He’s just asked for help and he goes and kicks ass. Doesn’t need a real huge plot. Just action packed cinematography
Be very rare for 2 flicks to be streamed, then have the 3rd be a theatrical release. Don’t think that’s ever happened, but this would definitely be a success.
@Benson i don't have youtube premium, yes i'm annoyed with most ads, I'm just saying hearing Chris talk about his sponsors is fun and interesting and he has a good speaking voice, so that's why I don't skip his sponsors
Not knowing anything about this movie going in . The one thing I remember mentioning was how well done the camera shots and long scenes were, the emersion really stood out. It turned a 5.8/10 movie into a 7.8/10 movie .
fantastic film from the start to finish, the 21 minutes action scene was exhilarating, incredible. love action films like the extraction and john wick franchises.
Between the John Wick franchise and Extraction, who needs Marvel or DC? Nothing that is produced from the latter, with their over reliance on CG, can compare to well shot and choreographed action sequences that both the John Wick and Extraction franchises offer. Additionally, from a storytelling perspective, the smaller and intimate scale of John Wick and Extraction makes them far more relatable than comic book franchises where the fate of the entire world, universe, or multiple time lines are at stake.

I was surprised when I saw the first one and enjoyed it so much , i need to watch this one now that you gave it a great review! Thanks Chris!!
I absolutely loved this movie. I was in awe of the action and the way it was filmed
What was great about this too is that all the main actors clearly did their own stunts
Definitely just a classic “don’t think ... just watch” standard popcorn flick
Well done truly 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Absolutely amazing movie! I wasn't expecting such blistering action being filmed like that!
Would love to see Chris as The Punisher with this kind of this style of filming
I liked this a lot better than John Wick 4. Just a really fun action flick
Thank you Chris. No one I care for on YT had reviewed it. I agree, this movie deserved a theatrical release.
Simple is better when it comes to action. Let’s all take a moment to appreciate that this is 80’s Commando that has been refurbished, renovated, and updated.
That’s just an insult to Commando.
That prison fight had me on the edge of my seat. Just incredible. What an excellent follow to the first 10/10
In my opinion was better than the first. More fun and less dark and gritty, less violent and less repititive. Really better sequel, loved it
3:59 LOL the laugh is contagious. I loved the action in this movie and this is exactly the reaction I was hoping for from you, Chris. I kept thinking "this is giving John Wick a run for his money."
I was absolutely blown away with the 21 minute long take. Truly fucking masterful.
Masterfully bad
@@HunterMagunter Delusional
@@ipman127 you're delusional, you like terrible movies
I’ve nvr clicked so fast on a review video in my life. Perfect thing to come home to after work!
I 100% wanted to see the extraction movies in theaters.
I got all the way into the one-take shot to where the camera 'flies' up to the overpass and starts following a different antagonist into the building I had to stop and go this has been one single shot for how long? Rewind...wow, well done, and it's still going!
Chris “I like everything” Stuckmann
So cool seeing your review include some behind the scenes clips I've pulled at my work!
I like this film. I wanted a lot of ACTION with a silly plot. And this is what I got. I am happy.
I enjoyed this one more than John Wick 4 tbh but I also realize that is a purely personal thing. The "Wick-verse" and the whole "cabal ruling the world"-thing doesn't appeal to me, but the self-contained nature of the Extraction movies really do.
I really liked the first film. Great stuff behind the scenes, thanks Chris! Another great review. As usual. 🙂
I love your channel man such a awesome truthful movie reviewer don't ever change
Great action film. Up to par and I would say even a little better than the first one. Anyone caught the director cameo with Sam Hargrave digging the hole before the villain drops the suit guy at the beginning of the film?
You read that Magic Spoon plug like a hostage video.
Watched it the day it came out. I was impressed! It definitely earned a recommendation from me.
I saw both Extraction 2 and JohnWick 4 this weekend for the first time. I loved both but honestly I think I liked extraction 2 a little better. It kinda reminded me of The Raid. Really liked it and can’t wait to see the next.
Same, I definitely liked this better than the last 2 wick movies. Jw4 was so over the top it was just silly to me.
Spiderverse was my best overall movie but this movie was my best action movie so far this year.
All the scenes and characters had real tension and the fight scenes were some of the best ive seen because of one continuous cut
Without being interested in the film itself, I saw the making-of for its simulated one-take, and I was honestly quite impressed.
The fight scene with the woman on the train .. even that was awesome
The action of this film is insane.
I absolutely love the camera work as well it makes you feel like you're in there great work i'd give this movie a 10/10. Chris Wick 🔥
"I expect kick-ass action" You and me both, sir. Movie delivered our wishes
This is almost gareth evans level of filmmaking in this movie. I was surprised how good this film was. Really good. 8½/10
Chris' sponsors are the only ones I don't skip on UA-cam 😅
SomeMoreNews has the best ad reads
@Benson i don't have youtube premium, yes i'm annoyed with most ads, I'm just saying hearing Chris talk about his sponsors is fun and interesting and he has a good speaking voice, so that's why I don't skip his sponsors
Son of a bitch… I actually did sit through those sponsors and I want my damn bowl of magic spoon cereal now! 🤓🤓
Wick and Rake, the almost indestructible protagonists 🔥
Actions are lit!
After how over the top jw4 was I honestly like these better
This channel is the best. We will support him no matter what.
Honestly, this movie, and especially the 2 recent John Wick movies, were a real chore to get through.
U crazy
Between the John Wick franchise and Extraction, who needs Marvel or DC? Nothing that is produced from the latter, with their over reliance on CG, can compare to well shot and choreographed action sequences that both the John Wick and Extraction franchises offer. Additionally, from a storytelling perspective, the smaller and intimate scale of John Wick and Extraction makes them far more relatable than comic book franchises where the fate of the entire world, universe, or multiple time lines are at stake.
Loved Extraction 2 better than 1(One was good) Extraction 2 was fantastic!! Story, action, drama, fight scenes....Awesome!! 👍🏽😁👍🏽
