Due to the color of the floor I think getting the wall color right was a big challenge, however the truffle pink has a warm, welcoming and romantic feel, lovely for a new couple. Loved the coat rack and table. The stairs do look better with the two colors. Really, for the budget and constraints. Pretty good job.
I plan to borrow many ideas as soon as I have a place to call h♡me. My furry family member and I are currently staying with my daughter and her best friend. It would be so great if y'all would spotlight how to make a catio =^..^= Thank you for the kind reply. I appreciate you!
I’ve been binge watching ALLL WEEK and I started my own weekend room remodel!😂 I’m moving into my new apartment soon so I’m so inspired! Love, love, love it all!💕✨
Thank you Lowe's for creating this show. It provides me and others great ideas for our homes. I am looking for the white wood planks that were installed on the ceiling in a bedroom.
This is a miss for me. I would change the color. A dramitic one like blue or just maintain the white. The wall treatment is ugly. This need an appropriate dramatic multiple level light fixture. That one is just lost in the space.
I actually liked the original better... it had a nice, farm house kind of feel. There were things that needed to be updated, but it was bright and beautiful. I really disliked that paint color I think it made the space feel old and dated. The moulding also made it feel dated. I think the light would have been cool in a more modern setting, but with the rest of it, it also felt dated, and the carpet on the stairs again, made it feel dated. I loved the furniture, but the look overall was like walking into my grandparents' house. I half thought I smelled cigar smoke!
Staircase was truly the saving grace. The paint color and cheap moulding job really ruined this makeover. Would of looked amazing without the moulding and the walls painted a soft grey.
Love the wall treatment and the side table the railing. Not in love with the pink but the homeowners seemed to like it. And like she said, paint is not permanent
didn't rate this one. The paint was pink, the moulding had gaps and looked cheap, and didn't like the new light. Stairs were the saving grace. should have put curtains on the door windows. Other episodes have been great.
omg this is so amazing. A woman seems more dormant than the man. it's not the case there. and she is doing it very friendly and responsible way. I'm gonna watch all of her videos. this is so inspiring
The garage door needs dark paint on the panels to elongate the the square garage-door windows, to balace the other windows and shutters, which are all long rectangles
Hold the phone... You're scared of heights??? The first time I saw you you were painting the outside of a house with two stories! LOL!! And....I believe that I spied something about this show being cancelled? That's so tragic! I just found this and all I can think is, this needs to be an hour long show so that I can see the details of all the project how-to's 🤗 Come On Lowe's!!! Keep this show going!!!
High fives for vertigo and overcoming it! I am not sure about that paint color, but the new fixture and the faux paneling were both great. Maybe a white or tan stencil pattern over the pinkish paint would tone done the weirdness of it.
Really love ur projects!! So inspiring! Just plz pretty plz don't show a clip of the end result in the beginning of the video. Kinda spoils the fun in watching it till the end wondering how it's going to end up. Tx
Dated ...? The Foyer looked great... I liked the floor, the rails were a fine looking wood ... now it's like a dank Love-Hotel in the countryside of Japan ...
The wood colors aren't dated to me .. but the banister shapes are. The pink walls bleh 🤢 looks granny along with the banister shape. A nice bold punch of blue on the walls that matched the outside shutters maybe 3 shades lighter and the railing kept the same would have helped along with removing the carpeting on the stairs for a more luxurious feel.
Lmao they were all "it's Almost Kind of Pink!!! IS THAT oKaY Dude???" And he's just saying "it's a pretty color but you're painting my home and paint is sometimes unpredictable" and she's going "ooooOooh boy this guy does nnNOT like this pink!!! He has to Believe the Process!!!!" Girl stop pls
6:34 to 7:18 I just notice that using the stairs would be more convenient way of going to the top of the scaffolding, instead of climbing through the scaffolding itself.
peggyt1243 lol. We tend to butcher French words in the States, especially in the South. Actually, they butcher most non-English words. Gracias is "grassy-ass", DeKalb is "de-cab", and the list goes on. But, if you pronounce it correctly you're uppity, 'cuz you know, 'Merica.
Hi, Chelsey. Monica used HGTV Home by Sherwin-Williams "Flat Steppe" to paint the banister and "Alabaster" for the spindles. You can take a look at the colors here: low.es/2oDwQqF and here low.es/2q6ttJX. Be sure to subscribe to see new episodes of The Weekender first when season 2 returns April 27.
Mildly unrealistic to do in a weekend for a new home owner. Even with 3 people painting into the night, they will at least need to touch up the paint on the trim (11:25) and figure out the scaffolding. More like a 2 weekend project, but overall great look! Also, great intro!
This was a missed opportunity. The staircase shoiuld have been converted to a elegant, curving staricase that winds it's way up, in the a mahogony color. The white spindles are too much of a contrast to the banister. That would have given a much greater sense of elegance.
Lowe's - Do NOT cancel The Weekender. This is a GREAT show.

Iddttiiiitiktgfjfjjkm,
So enjoyable to watch. Would love more time to detail project "how to's"
Snoop Y did you say this because you were worried ab how ugly this project was

I'd change the color and take the carpet off of the stairs.
Traci Morgan i agree. the color is awful
Exactly what I was thinking!
Couldnt agree more! I'm a designer and I hated the pinky white and would have removed the carpet.
I think beige, or grey would've been fine. Heck, even a bold splash of black on the wall by the console would've been good too.
I totally agree the carpet makes the pink look even more dingy and gross but she did so Awesome with everything else
❤️ More shows like these please! Love Monica!

BRING BACK THE WEEKENDER!!!
Monica and Matt are fantastic! What a wonderful creative quick fix program for inspiration with any home!
Starfire Rising glad you're enjoying The Weekender. Have you tried one of the projects?
I plan to borrow many ideas as soon as I have a place to call h♡me. My furry family member and I are currently staying with my daughter and her best friend.
It would be so great if y'all would spotlight how to make a catio =^..^=
Thank you for the kind reply. I appreciate you!
Starfire Rising our feline pal would love a catio. :) We'll keep it in mind.
I’ve been binge watching ALLL WEEK and I started my own weekend room remodel!😂
I’m moving into my new apartment soon so I’m so inspired! Love, love, love it all!💕✨
Danny's face at 6:11 is pure fear 😂
love love love Monica's style and talent.

You are excellent at reading the homeowner style and reactions.
This is a miss for me. I would change the color. A dramitic one like blue or just maintain the white. The wall treatment is ugly. This need an appropriate dramatic multiple level light fixture. That one is just lost in the space.
Great job!! I think, maybe, the color doesn't come across the video as well as it may look in person but everything else is great!!
Janet Orgeron in other words the color is awful
This is just amazing what can be done and completed within one weekend... but this is because you have the right tools and knowledge for the project.
I thought the overall look was great, but aren't you supposed to caulk around the moulding where it meats the wall?
She didn't caulk around the moulding. You can see she didn't when she started painting.
I thought that was only for functional baseboards to make a seal.
I actually liked the original better... it had a nice, farm house kind of feel. There were things that needed to be updated, but it was bright and beautiful. Completely agree!

Love the wall treatment and the side table the railing. Not in love with the pink but the homeowners seemed to like it. And like she said, paint is not permanent
Wow. Before I started watching The Weekender, I just made a few DIYs that didn't match to a theme. Now I feel very inspired
she's brave to be up there like that I know I cant
yeah... this show is great. but this pink was just out of place.
didn't rate this one. The paint was pink, the moulding had gaps and looked cheap, and didn't like the new light. Stairs were the saving grace. should have put curtains on the door windows. Other episodes have been great.
Alistair Dymock dxqwsww
I didn't like this one
Loved that colour on the walls!
I think the owner smiled more when Monica climbed the scalpel than when she mentioned her ideas. Too funny!!
om
you're such an amazingly talented designer. I wish I could be on the show with your help and yes I just can't stop watching
This is my introduction to The Weekender. It's short, but still fun to watch.
I LOVED that paint color after I saw it on the walls.
This is one of my favorite episodes.
Bring Lowe’s to Australia 🇦🇺....we love this show!!
7:10 why... didn't she just step over the banister? Would have been safer and easier at the top of the scaffolding
The floor was the main feature here for me. The warm paint complemented it well.
Wow! Talk about facing your fears. I felt for you Monica
I am taking all I have seen with the weekender back to Mexico and my moms new home. So hope I do a good job. Will take before and after pictures.
omg this is so amazing.
A woman seems more dormant than the man.
it's not the case there.
and she is doing it very friendly and responsible way.
I'm gonna watch all of her videos.
this is so inspiring
Monica you are so funny, beautiful, talented ..you are my inspiration
I need this in my life.
i love that little table and coat rack!
The garage door needs dark paint on the panels to elongate the the square garage-door windows, to balace the other windows and shutters, which are all long rectangles
I could tell the diy side table was supposed to resemble the griffin collection from Pottery Barn! Looks good!

I think she is great. How about coming to Rome, Italy and give me ideas for my bedroom!!
Monica this is so cool!
This show is awesome and I love it and I'm a kid!!!!
I loves this show!
I love the colour...
I wish the weekender showed the final prices. With a disclaimer that prices vary by region. It would be nice to have a rough idea
I was not into the pink wall color. But loved everything else.
If your afraid of heights it helps to have someone holding the opposite side your climbing to keep the ladder in place!
Really love ur projects!! So inspiring! Just plz pretty plz don't show a clip of the end result in the beginning of the video. Kinda spoils the fun in watching it till the end wondering how it's going to end up. Tx
How do you change bulbs in the light fixture? Love the change!
Dated ...? The Foyer looked great... I liked the floor, the rails were a fine looking wood ... now it's like a dank Love-Hotel in the countryside of Japan ...
Monica is so lovable!!
Everything is beautiful. I don't lean toward pinks.
Noooo to the pinkish walls...what were you thinking ??? the only thing I like is the light...
I would have tried getting on the scaffolding from upstairs!
I would NOT have been able to get up on that scaffold. No.Way. I felt SO sorry for Monica.
The husband looks like the actor in 50 shades of grey series .😊❤
This was such a great room. Was.
so who was the architect who put a stair in front of a double wide doorway? project itself is great... thank you...

Why are YOU not on HGTV?! Love, love, LOVE!
6:34 to 7:18 I just notice that using the stairs would be more convenient way of going to the top of the scaffolding, instead of climbing through the scaffolding itself.
all that, so you could buy the leather backpack you wanted. lol. Beautiful. I have no entry... 1940s home.
I guess all Canadians are "fancy" because we all say "foy eh". It is a French word.
peggyt1243 lol. We tend to butcher French words in the States, especially in the South. Actually, they butcher most non-English words. Gracias is "grassy-ass", DeKalb is "de-cab", and the list goes on. But, if you pronounce it correctly you're uppity, 'cuz you know, 'Merica.
I'm a New Yorker and I say "Foy eh". Never have I pronounced it Foyer!
What's the lighting fixture? Its exactly what I've been after!
What products did you use to paint the banister? It looks very nice
Hi, Chelsey. Monica used HGTV Home by Sherwin-Williams "Flat Steppe" to paint the banister and "Alabaster" for the spindles. 09:37 hysterical!
As someone who has painted stair railings, that would have taken the entire weekend alone :(
Why not use the stair to the scafolding instead???much more easy and safer...hahaha!
I would have painted the wall before putting those vertical strips of wood on them.
Should’ve used a huge chandelier to draw the eye up instead of that tacky mounding.
Ugly color 😣 but great show really enjoy it 👏👏 as long as the homeowners are happy that's all that matters 👏👏

Very nice 👍
Lowes is the new HGTV!
She literally could have just walked up the stairs and then climb the scaffold lol
Oh poor Monica😄
I think I know why their neighbours were visiting more often, and why Lara wasn't expected to climb the scaffolding.
Whaaat, the old light looks so cool, why did they change it? ☹️ And oh, hi Matt 😏

I loved everything except the paint color
Please don't show the final product at the beginning. It spoils the fun. If people want to see they can just fast forward to the beginning.
I love your channel, but I think the most part of your videos get a low audio. Anyway, congratulations for the excellent job.
RESPONDER
Monica awesome
walls are too pink, makes the space feel smaller, darker, and dated :(
This was a missed opportunity. The staircase shoiuld have been converted to a elegant, curving staricase that winds it's way up, in the a mahogony color. The white spindles are too much of a contrast to the banister. That would have given a much greater sense of elegance.
Talented nice
How do I get her to come redo a room in my home??
More Monica
Are the couple from out west? The exterior and location don't make me think leather and buffalo. But the treatment is interesting.
I’m Canadian. Dang my house may need work.
Used to hearing it the french way and hearing it as "foyer" is kind of cringey for me
The foyer isnt the biggest problem, what Happyend to the Livingstones room 😳
Sorry guys it is really irrelevant but is "are you loving the weekender?" gramatically correct?? 12:00 😔🤔
Well, technically, you're right. We're using a stative verb in a progressive tense. But it just feels right, doesn't it? :)
sometimes grammar means nothing in english
I usually love everything on this show but that pink, no thank you.
Hate the pink paint :(
this was maybe one of the hardest projects...high ceiling, strange shape and no proper function. well done monica it turned out another space.
Monica- where’s your khaki green coat from?!
does no one see how she could have climbed the stairs and just hopped over the edge instead of climbing?
