This turned out soooo beautiful!! 😍 Buuut...wat about being able to use the restroom? Would they just have to move the table Everytime they needed access to it?? 🤔 I wish they would've addressed that..
I like the way you hid the W/D, but I wonder if they could've turned the bathroom off the kitchen (that they don't use), into a laundry room. Just add a pocket door to save space.
I love how the open shelving really opened up the space, but I would feel obligated to load everything in the dishwasher when cleaning the kitchen. I just don't know how else you'd combat dust or the grease thing that happens in actively used kitchens. So mucheasier to clean a cabinet door.
The grease build-up is definitely an issue. Anything that isn't used frequently gets gross, that's why I hate open storage in the kitchen. Upper cabinets really can make a space feel claustrophobic, though. I love the open look.
🩵🩵🩵 I love it!!! Great job 👏 can't get over it....sooo beautiful, especially those appliances love the color and how everything comes together....awesome 🤗👍👍
I did this in my kitchen. I had a curtain over the washer and dryer, but I decided for the money I paid for it I wanted to look at them. 😅 The downside is I had to eventually add a tray to the washing machine which ruined the look. It's a pain to level if you have crooked floors. But great for space-saving.
Love this makeover!! The seafoam appliances are to die for 😍. But did anyone else notice the fridge opens the wrong way??? That would drive me bananas!
I am a big fan of your projects and think that you have an amazing taste and creativity! in this makeover I am not sure that open shelving in the kitchen will work. I know that kitchen grease plus the dust combination is very tough to clean. so the design looks good, but usage is questionable.
Please dontttttty end tjis season..monika this show is only reason to tune this channel..monika u are a magician...nd magnet to attract fair amount of subscribers nd viewers on this channel...
The finished look is very nice, but wondering why bathroom was still blocked off by table. Was thinking if they didn’t use bathroom they could of turned it into laundry area giving more space for table in kitchen…just a thought, beautiful job though.
Love the laundry solution! The reveal definitely fit the request - very atmospheric. Open cabinetry.😢 Dusting. Maintenance. So glad it's headed back out of fashion now.
Loved the result but there are 2 things I would change: I have almost the same kitchen. It’s just laid out differently. But colors and style are very similar. I even have the ikea island. My butcher block countertops were covered with 3 coats of poly. I can’t remember which one. I wasn’t worried about the food safety issue because it was my intention to always use cutting boards. They’ve held up beautifully for 10 years. Plus I didn’t stain them first. The poly brought out the color of the wood without it. So, I’d seal the suckers with poly. Second, that table is still blocky and obstructive. I’m surprised you didn’t do a banquette attached to the new shelving unit and along the wall. Then they could have gotten rid of a couple of those chairs and turning the table horizontally might have provided better access to the bathroom. Or replace that table with something smaller with a drop leaf or gateleg. I’m guessing that these two eat by themselves most of the time. So there’s not a lot of reason to have a huge dining table.
Love this show but now I'm super disappointed. They didn't show all the "behind the scenes" work that was done. Things like; they cut off the soffit and I'm sure they had to repair the wall and ceiling space above where the cabinets were. Also, the wall got new bead-board backsplash where the shelves went. They made it look so simple but the truth is this was a major renovation and not just a weekend project. The other issue is that the kitchen is now missing a microwave for the sake of the design. Not very functional.
Likewise seems like just decorated honestly and bought new appliances this couple could've done this. Removed cabinets to add open shelves to fit her likes not functional in a small kitchen also went rather cheaply on finishes as well. The curtain covering the washer & dryer could've just just cabinets that open and push on the side of the units on a track.
Monica! I'm in love with that butcher block stain color! Can you provide more info? What is it, specifically, and can you use it on other woods? Thanks. This whole space is gorgeous!!
Hi, Andrea! Monica used Watco Butcher Block Oil & Stain on these countertops. The color is Hazelnut. This is a food safe oil & stain that is specifically designed for butcher block or other wood products that will be in direct contact with food (e.g. cutting boards, salad bowls, serving utensils, etc.). The mint green appliances are a nice offset to the black, yet any color appliances could work. I'm glad they liked the green. I would probably choose red or navy if they had it. Her ideas are excellent for unifying the entire kitchen.
So I have to ask what did you do with the dryer hose that was hanging out the window? Because you didn’t address that when you were talking about the washer and dryer! But the kitchen looks fabulous.❤❤
Wow - I liked the original kitchen. Black and white and checkerboard floor are right up my style alley. Don't like the washer/dryer combo in the corner but I knew Monica would find a way to minimize them and like what she did very much. I'm not a fan of open shelving, period. I would have kept the uppers but painted them the same color as the new wall color. The laminate countertop didn't bother me either; the faux marble coloring was good and it was easy maintenance for two guys. Butcher block is lovely - when it's new - but it takes upkeep/maintenance and will two guys DO that? Remains to be seen. Covering the new washer/dryer with the butcherblock, the storage unit above the washer/dryer and the curtains was perfect. Not a fan of the dining table and chairs, I think they're too large and clunky looking for the space but that's what they had and budgets have to be kept in mind - along with the large size of the two male homeowners. The beautiful pale green appliances are BOSS! The new peel and stick floor is cute, but I liked the checkerboard better. Too bad it couldn't be repaired. Overall, an A+ makeover.
Great makeover as usual...looks wonderful and has helped with some decisions I needed to make. However, there was no info on the back splash, and whether the bathroom was easier to access. The issue I have with open shelving, while it looks great, is the grease factor that settles over everything... it's not for us. Keep the makeovers coming!
Yes would be nice to have hidden the washer & dryer with doors that roll in Linda Davis on her new england fine living channel on youtube has her washer & dryer hidden behind cabinetry in her tavern should see that video stunning can't even tell its there. For resale value we understand not removing the bathroom but was hopeful to move the door on the other side of that wall & close off that door since they did have this type of help. Why not go for granite counter tops since working with Lowe's just seems like was waste of resources to give this home a honest upgrade. Love Monica this one not as much.
Great design but why not put the washer-drier in that bathroom? They said they don't really use that bathroom nor the dining area because of the layout. You could've done much better there.
The kitchen looks so much brighter and warmer, truly awesome!!
This turned out soooo beautiful!! 😍 Buuut...wat about being able to use the restroom? Would they just have to move the table Everytime they needed access to it?? 🤔 I wish they would've addressed that..
Love the way the kitchen turned out!! And I love how you hid the washer & dryer!! Genius!! And Monica you look fabulous!!🥰
She does look fabulous!
Always great to see The Weekender on a weekend.
I YELLED when I saw the retro style appliances! Gorgeous!
I like the way you hid the W/D, but I wonder if they could've turned the bathroom off the kitchen (that they don't use), into a laundry room. Just add a pocket door to save space.
What a great idea! I have a feeling that wouldn't have been a weekender project, though. Maybe something for the future?
Pocket door is a good idea. She didn't tell us what happened with the bathroom access, and I want to know!
I love seeing Monica on the Weekender as well as during the week “somewhere else” lol! She’s great everywhere she appears!
Where else does she appear? I love all her content!
@@Yaro79514 she is often on Live With Kelly and Mark.
What a lovely couple. Amazing what they did with this house!

Love your work from you and your team! Can’t wait for another season 😁😁⭐️
i absolutely ADORE scott and satchell omg, and the kitchen transformed soo nicely, great job everyone!!
Monica you never fail to amaze, your so talented. What a lovely couple who loved the transformation as much as we all did.
I absolutely love the retro appliances!❤
I love everything about that kitchen it is so beautiful this cozy looking and homie and inviting I just love it I'm glad that the couple loved it 🥰
love the look except anyone else notice the tile not lining up? @6:47 eek :/
Love this! I would have this in my house for sure!!
The kitchen turned out beautifully. I was hoping you were going to use butcher block!
🩵🩵🩵 I love it!!! Great job 👏 can't get over it....sooo beautiful, especially those appliances love the color and how everything comes together....awesome 🤗👍👍
Another home-run Monica!!! I LOVE the results!!! So sad the season is over already though!!! ❤❤❤
I wish it was longer, too.
Lowe's should invest in a longer season or all year around and working with Monica. Great combo!! Cheers
WHAT? Only seven episodes, and it took Lowes YEARS to bring Monica back to The Weekender. This is heart-rending. Geez.
Always excited when Monica and The Weekender pops up on my notifications!!! ❤❤❤❤
She is really talented. I am glad she worked with Lone Fox and I got to see her work. ❤
AGREED!! lone fox brought me here, monica made me stay/follow 🥰🥰
The kitchen is so cute! I would love a kitchen like that.

Do you need to seal the butcher block countertop against water damage?

I thought the same 👍
What happened to the dining table and toilet situation? Couple mentioned that as a problem in the intro part.
Love, Love, Love this!!!!! Great job Monica.
The tiny kitchen makeover you had done years back was my favourite until this one! So, so pretty and practical and cosy! Love it!🤩
That kitchen looks fabulous. I was super excited for them. Monica, I'm going to need you to head my way next.
Love the kitchen!! Always great makeovers Monica!!
Lovely. Can you link the 2 in 1 washer dryer?
LOVE this KITCHEN!
What a great transformation for this kitchen! Monica is beyond amazing. And these appliances, be still my heart! Looking forward to Season 7!
This is incredible! I couldn’t see the vision when you started but holy moly, you did it!
So sad this is the last for the season!
Wow. . . doubled the size of the room without moving a wall!!
Sooo sad 😢 The frig doors do not look reversible.
Saved the best for last imo! Fantastic!!
Love the laundry solution! The reveal definitely fit the request - very atmospheric.

Love the makeovers- like that it’s achievable for mere mortals ❤
Love the makeover. Just wondering what you did about the bathroom which was not used😊
Did you close the bathroom off? Just curious

Gorgeous!! Im a sucker for mint and the vintage vibe appliances are NEXT LEVEL!! Also loveeee the curtain hack!
Great kitchen.
Beautiful, so inviting!
Love this kitchen ❤❤❤❤!
The layout of this kitchen sort of reminds me of the Tiny Kitchen that Monica did a few seasons back!

Like the shelves and the open cabinets…still struggling to get my head around them to actually put them in use in my new kitchen. Thanks again.
A kitchen really shouldn’t be a weekend project. You end up with things like stick on flooring.
Should u have a fridge right up against an oven top like that? The heat from the element will burn and discolour it. Otherwise awesome
This looks great!
Looks great! Can the fridge door opening be swapped? Seems like it would be more functional

I love love love this kitchen!!! I want it
Love it!
I loved it!! ❤❤❤
I love the new look but you totally missed the opportunity to stack the washer and dryer and make more room for their kitchen table and restroom door.
❤❤❤
I love it!
Beautiful

❤❤❤❤❤
Awesomesauce!
Looks really great but personally I hate open shelves because of the dust they collect.
I watched another channel that suggested not to put fridge next to your stove.
How do you deal with the seam on the countertop where the two pieces of butcher block meet?
Love, love, love the kitchen and the appliances are amazing
I need to make a skirt like that to cover my washer and dryer!!
Love it! 🖤
Amazing. Luv this . Really warm and inviting
Hi just wanted to ask if it’s ok to put oven and refrigerator side by side
Love it. You really made it so much nicer.
Love these!!
The dryer was vented out of that window.... where is it vented to now?
beautiful work it gives so many ideas love it
Love the overalls, fun and funky!
Looks nice, but where will they vent the dryer?
❤❤❤
Love everything except the appliances,
