  • The weather was perfect for this sheepshead trip with MJ. Sunny skies, low winds and a slow moving current an hour before and after low tide. We caught a good number of convicts using fiddler crabs rigged on Bottom Sweeper jigs. The bite was pretty much non stop, catching fish ranging in all different shapes and sizes!

    Enjoyed the video" can you suggest a good place to launch a boat in or near Charleston for some inshore sheepshead fishing which has lots or barnacle covered poles without having to make a long boat ride?

    • @SCFishTales
      @SCFishTales  2 роки тому

      Honestly, anywhere you put in around Charleston should have easy access to docks, which should all be holding sheepshead right now. I see them on floating docks all the time too.

    are you anchored up? how do u get close without banging the boat on the pilings?

    • @SCFishTales

      Yes, we were anchored. It took a few times to get the boat just right. Also, I always anchor on the downside of the current. That way my boat floats away from the pilings instead of toward them.

      It depends on where you live. Here in Charleston you can catch them year-round. During the colder winter months, the bigger ones move offshore and then come back in when the water warms up to about 60 to 65°.
