- In honour of the late Jason David Frank I've modified a pink series lightning collection morpher to make a custom Hasbro Power Rangers Lightning Collection Tommy Oliver Green Ranger Morpher without buying official decals.
DIY on a Power Rangers Lightning Collection Power Morpher by Hasbro from the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers (MMPR) line turned into a Power Rangers lightning Collection Green Ranger Morpher.
Here i walk you through the process and show you what easy to find and cheap products you can buy to modify your own morpher.
As we move towards the Power Rangers 30th Anniversary, May the power protect you all!!
Hope you enjoy, any tips or queries please leave a comment. I'll be doing more morpher reviews / modifications so if you enjoyed please subscribe so you don't miss out!

Just ordered the yellow morpher at half price and was dreading modding it to look like a generic morpher as none of them can be bought anymore at a reasonable price, watching what you did with electrical tape, saved me a bunch of time and energy, ill just do that and call it a day :P
I did the electrical tape trick with a pink morpher and left it at that and it looks fantastic so definitely worth doing. I’ve got a lense mod which is super cheap which I’m just finishing the edit on so that might give you a finishing touch idea too 👍
The tape idea is great. Doing it now.
Just made one out of the yellow ranger and also ordered all the front decals from BD15 to go with it. Thanks for the simple and helpful video. This project was super simple and now I have a green ranger morpher for my cosplay
Thanks I’m glad you found it helpful 😊 this has definitely been the easiest conversion to do - I keep being tempted to pick up a yellow morpher to turn it into a master morpher now though
Around 7 months later and we now have Tommy’s master morpher.
Did you manager to pick one up? I've got one that should be arriving this week so I'm looking forward to comparing to my cheap custom job
@@order66collectibles managed to order one still waiting on shipping confirmation, got lucky and managed to order it before they ran out of stock and switched to pre-orders.
Just made one with the pink morpher just like your video! Came out awesome!!! Love my green ranger morpher. Even better with the pink as it was his gf on the show. Makes it that much more special
Ah amazing!! So glad it’s turned out well for you! Did you pick up a coin from starlight studios?
@@order66collectibles I did. I ended up doing the decal set from BD15 and the coin from Starlight Studios and sold my yellow ranger one I used for practice till this one came in the mail. It turned out absolutely perfect I love it. I actually like the pink better than red. Just something special about it
@@RyanBlaze awesome 😊
Is it possible to reprogram the audio bits with different sound bites? It's gotta be right? It cant be too hard of a custom job
Yeah I would have thought so...though you saw in this video how much i struggled just finding my way around the simple process of taking plates on and off so maybe someone a bit more tec-savi than me will know 🤣
So finished painting it and it looks great but for some reason when I press the button it gets jammed and the morpher won't open fully, any advice on this?
that sounds like the paint is sticking a little - it could be a couple of things.
1) if you did a lot of coats, the thickness of the paint could make it stick.
2) the paint might be a little tacky (sticky) still.
3) when you put the plates back on you made them too tight (easily done).
I've had other morphers experience that problem and they 'cured' themselves over time just from me opening and then pulling the plates into position when they got jammed. The cause of the problem for me was usually that I hadn't left enough time between coats so the paint remained a bit sticky. If your plates feel sticky at all to touch then id take them off and leave them for a day or two to hopefully finish.
try loosening the plate screws - not enough to make the plates feel loose, half a turn or so. It could be that when you put them back on and tightened the screws it made them lower onto the morpher than normal which would cause the plates to catch when opening.
if that doesn't work I'd take the plates off and very very slightly sand down around the edges of the plates because it is likely that it is those bits which are catching on the morpher. Just need to be careful not to remove all the paint so use a very fine sand paper.
Hopefully one of those three options works for you. Let me know and fingers crossed for you
What about voices? Does it say pink Ranger voice lines? If so, is there a way to change those?
It does when you use the official coins but if you put a starlight studios coin in then it makes an electric sound - think I show it at the end of the video 👍
Great job! My question would be, Where did you get the coin?
Thanks buddy! The coin is from Starlight Studios - I'll pin a link to their ebay page in the description for you :)

What kind of gold paint did you use?
Rustoleum metallic finish bright gold. Here’s a link to one so you can see what the can looks like

If you don't mind me asking where did you get the power coin for it?
Don’t mind at all - I grabbed this from starlight studios - they have a store on eBay 👍
@@order66collectibles Ok I've heard of them guys do they also have the same stuff available on etsy too?
I might get a yellow morpher to customize it into a green ranger morpher. I do have the master morpher but it would be nice to also have Tommy’s first morpher.
That’s a good shout - yellow seem to be selling cheap at the minute too. I’ve picked up an extra bit for just £10 to complete this mod - video for that will be up very soon 😊
They did not make a gold morpher
I'm doing this
You won’t regret it 😊 hope it turns out great for you!
@@order66collectiblesI have an idea on how to get the coin to illuminate and say phrase in the Morpher (even tho it won't say Dragozord or anything like that), 3d print a green ranger coin, paint it and recreate the nubs/pins of another coin, for example, the red ranger's coin pins are to the left and up, I'd just recreate those pins on my dragon coin, and that way I have a fuctional dragon coin
