Yeah though it probably still sucks. Its probably a lot of money, and depending on where they had their personal cards, it can still be some emotional connections. But them being alive is top prio.
The most important thing is you all made it out safe. Take all the time you need to recover and upload in the new and improved skill check studio. Maybe take all the ruined cards and make a little piece of wall art for the new setup to honor the fallen cardboard warriors o7
I hope you guys can recover some of the cards with humidors, etc. For the rest of it, industrial space heaters can do some good work. Take all the time you need to get ready. We'll be here when you are.
Glad everyone is alright! I also appreciate your guys experience and insight on hurricanes. Being from landlocked in the west I can’t even imagine a hurricane!
Glad you guys are okay. Im in SC and we were hit hard by the hurricane prior, but you guys got me into MTG and the ability to play at home with no power and no internet really helped me get through it.
Thanks for the update! I'm glad to know y'all are safe, and I'm sorry to hear about (and see) the damage (seeing water come in like that must have been terrifying).
I think everyone is just glad that the crew's is alright so that we can continue watching high quality, commander gameplay. I'm sorry for the loss of product, but it's more reassuring knowing the boys are still in town.
7:10 as someone who has in the past been heavily impacted by floods here in Brisbane Australia due to a cyclone and storm surge, the clean-up can genuinely take more months than sense.
Such a shite situation but glad you're all safe. Just got into magic heavily about a couple of months ago and your channel has been fantastic binging it. If there's anything we can do to help you guys get all sorted please let us know. All the best 🤝
Used to live in Florida, I moved a few years back but I remember some of those hurricanes. I'm glad everyone at the studio is doing okay, and homes are mostly intact. For the curling cards, I've heard you can bake them in the oven to remove the curling effect. Obviously I wouldn't recommend doing this without research, but still worth holding onto the really expensive cards to see if you can salvage them to at least be sleeve-able :)
sending my energy, i got extremely lucky with Milton, and i am pretty sure i am roughly in ya'll's area good luck with whatever insurance shenanigans you'll have to deal with.
excited to see more updates... maybe you guys should even play a game while the guys are just rebuilding the set behind you would be hilarious! like Charlie and Matt just ripping out the bad drywall behind y'all!! but Good Luck excited to see what comes next
Slightly east of Tampa luckily inland enough to not have to deal with the flooding problems of a lot, but lots of property damage from wind and trees. So many trees. Good luck getting everything back up and running.
Glad you guys are doing okay and are in good spirits. It's silly to apologize for slowing down on content when you're literally just trying to survive.
I was in sc near the boarder with nc the damage from helene was insane the level of destruction is hard to describe. glad ya'll are okay these storms are nothing to play around with.
Hopefully this helps: You might be able to save some of the cards by drying them, up stack them in box to flatten them out (use a lot of spare lands to fill the box with normal cards) and using the moist absorbing packets they have in shoe boxes. Hopefully they can dry up as they're flattened but that's what I do to straighten out my foils. You have to press them flat for it to work.
Glad y’all are ok and mostly everything is ok. Hope y’all can get everything replaced and repaired. And hope y’all do more dnd content when y’all get everything back to normal
when it comes to walking through standing water one of the most dangerous things you can literally stumble upon is stepping onto a manhole, in which in most cases the lid will be removed resulting in a sudden drop, causing you to fall inside and swept away by the undercurrent that resides within. it's often just the weight of the lid that keeps them in place rather than being bolted down or anchored in one way or another.
I’m sorry to hear this. I got completely lucky, but my whole town and surrounding community in south GA were destroyed by Helene. We’ve never had to deal with hurricanes so it set us back so far. The crops are destroyed, homes, businesses, everything. Dear god the TREES
You might want to consider making a waterproof hurricane room for your cards and electronics. The storms aren't going to get any better in our lifetimes.
@80AM. I know, but it's only gets worse as the climate warms. Regardless of what ppl think is causing it, it's happening. "Once in a century" storms/flooding are barely once in 5yrs now.
Hey glad y'all are alright. Have you guys heard of the TTRPG world called The World of Darkness? It is a gothic punk world with either light combat with heavy roleplaying or vise versa, intrigue, monolithic organizations, personal horror. There are different game lines like Vampire: The Masquerade, Werewolf: The Apocalypse, Mage: The Ascension, Changeling: The Dreaming, Wraith: The Oblivion, Hunter: The Reckoning. In these game lines you can juggle things like maintaining a regular life but keep your supernatural life separate. Keep your beast or your rage or other thing in check or deal with the consequences to power through something else.
Take your time my dudes. Number 1 thing is for ya'll to be able to get up and running in a safe manner without feeling like you have to rush things out just for the sake of the viewers
Living in Tampa watching y'all go through water and just thinking to myself "I know almost exactly where that is and jfc if there's a downed power line guys ..."
I'm very grateful to hear y'all are okay physically, it sucks to hear about all of the Magic cards you lost! 😭 I wonder, did you wind up losing cards viewers sent in for sharpie commander?
It’s a special evaluation recovery insurance that you can get for art pieces and other collectibles the insurer takes the aggregate of previous value points and speculative value then insures to a limit based on the data. Each card would have its own value assessed then applied to the group aggregate. The premiums would make it not worth imo but the mini thought experiment is nice to think of.
Glad you guys are okay. Material can be replaced, lives can't.
Yeah though it probably still sucks. Its probably a lot of money, and depending on where they had their personal cards, it can still be some emotional connections. But them being alive is top prio.
RIP Bristly Bill
F
Hey, brightside, we will see different decks now
Skill Check: Extremely Moist, Extremely Critical
As someone just a little south of you guys and got very lucky, glad you guys are on the up and up
The most important thing is you all made it out safe. Take all the time you need to recover and upload in the new and improved skill check studio. Maybe take all the ruined cards and make a little piece of wall art for the new setup to honor the fallen cardboard warriors o7
And they could potentially use them for some block out commander.
I hope you guys can recover some of the cards with humidors, etc. For the rest of it, industrial space heaters can do some good work. Take all the time you need to get ready. We'll be here when you are.
Hurricane be mad at the magic pulls
Glad everyone is alright! I also appreciate your guys experience and insight on hurricanes. Being from landlocked in the west I can’t even imagine a hurricane!
Glad you guys are okay. Im in SC and we were hit hard by the hurricane prior, but you guys got me into MTG and the ability to play at home with no power and no internet really helped me get through it.
Glad y’all are safe, I live in Parrish and it’s crazy how massive this storm was living through it.
Thanks for the update! I'm glad to know y'all are safe, and I'm sorry to hear about (and see) the damage (seeing water come in like that must have been terrifying).
Glad that everybody made it out safe. Hope that everything calms down quickly
I think everyone is just glad that the crew's is alright so that we can continue watching high quality, commander gameplay. I'm sorry for the loss of product, but it's more reassuring knowing the boys are still in town.
As my newest favorite channel, I hope everything works out and yall, and you come back even stronger!
Buy a humidor for the pringling. They will still be water damaged, but they will be straight for a sleeve again.
Good to see you guys are doing well!
I'm glad yall are safe, yall are my favorite magic channel

Thank you guys for the update! Glad you are all okay, I will wait patiently for any and all content you guys make.

This is why I invested in a giant waterproof trunk to keep all my cardboard in. Hopefully I'll find it floating instead of drenched
My entire collection got destroyed, I feel the pain. Glad to see the damage wasn't worse
Glad you all made it through, excited to see what you come out with when you get to.
i was honestly worried about you dorks lmao glad your safe !
really sorry to see you guys lost a lot of stuff in the storm. hopefully you can recover as much as possible. excited for more content!
sending my energy, i got extremely lucky with Milton, and i am pretty sure i am roughly in ya'll's area

Here in GA we’ve never seen the kind of devastation Helene brought. So. Many. Trees.
Glad to hear everyone is okay🎉
Glad you guys are all safe. Looking forward to seeing business as usual when you're ready
Glad you guys are doing okay and are in good spirits. It's silly to apologize for slowing down on content when you're literally just trying to survive.

You guys should take all of the ruined cards and give em the sharpie commander treatment, the Milton Special.
YES!!!
Glad everyone is ok, seriously. It’s way more important that everyone is ok than churning out commander videos lol.
Glad you guys are ok!
Glad y’all are ok and mostly everything is ok. Hope y’all can get everything replaced and repaired. And hope y’all do more dnd content when y’all get everything back to normal

Stay safe, stay positive. Best of luck guys
Glad you guys are safe, take your time getting back to norm👌🏾
I am just glad you guys are all ok. Don't worry about videos. Make your space safe first.
Glad you guys are OK. I’m sorry about the cards.
So glad y'all are safe! Can't wait for DnD and the next box battle
I’m sorry to hear this. I got completely lucky, but my whole town and surrounding community in south GA were destroyed by Helene. We’ve never had to deal with hurricanes so it set us back so far. The crops are destroyed, homes, businesses, everything. Dear god the TREES
I'm heartbroken that the videos will be slow but I know that it'll be worth the wait knowing you guys are safe.
You might want to consider making a waterproof hurricane room for your cards and electronics. The storms aren't going to get any better in our lifetimes.
they're particularly bad this year due to the weather pattern shift over the east central pacific aka el nino.
@80AM. I know, but it's only gets worse as the climate warms. Regardless of what ppl think is causing it, it's happening. "Once in a century" storms/flooding are barely once in 5yrs now.
important thing is everyone's alive and well. it's ok for content to slow down as recovery efforts kick in.
As much as the cards hurt my soul I’m glad you boys are all doing ok
As an extension to the don't stand in standing water thing. I heard that the hurricane displaced some gators....... that sounds fun
And sharks
@@guitubagrips9719 and sharks yeah I forgot about that one
Glad you all are safe. Look on the bright side you all have more cards for sharpie commander.

So sorry to you guys who suffered damages, we are glad you all are safe though!
Wish you all the best guys
Glad you're well

New episode idea: "Baptized pack battle: We soaked our magic packs in water before playing a game"
Im glad you guys and the crew are safe, but on a brighter note, FUCK KARAKAS LETS GOOOOOOOOO
Glad you guys are safe sucks to have so much cards destroyed
Love your guys videos hope one day to play with you guys
“Go ahead and go through those cards BUD” 🤣
love you Ryan!
like a bag of chips is pretty funny. seriously tho i hope you guys are good. Stay safe
“Go ahead and go through those cards bud” 🤣
Glad everyone is okay. It sucks that the cards were lost but they are replaceable.
Living in Tampa watching y'all go through water and just thinking to myself "I know almost exactly where that is and jfc if there's a downed power line guys ..."
Can't wait for game using hurricane damaged cards
my wife: why dont the flip the camera when were looking at the cards.
Me: Good question.
Hang in there guys! Stay dry!
Dude those are now collectable. They have limited time Milton spit on them.
Wowza, that’s one big twirly whirly
The real question though is if bristly bill is ok?
Milton is just jealous of your magical skills, sorry for all the shit y’all have dealt with, we look forward to seeing you back!
You can file an insurance claim for magic cards
You know this actually makes me wonder. Does flood insurance cover speculative prices of cards?
If those dice rolled a 20, would it be a moist critical?
Those cards received a m0ist critical. Damn.
THE O DAWG ❤❤
I'd buy a PSA 1 Grade storm damaged magic card off you guys 😂
So, when's the Commander video with decks using only flood-damaged cards?
was the thumbnail a creep cast reference?
Just another October in Florida
It's would be fitting to see you guys to play some mtg dandân format. 😅
I hope the cards can be restored/playable again
damn. Those cards are almost as warped as foils.
Damn didn't know you guys were getting slammed
Critically moist, unfortunately. But, seriously, that sucks and take all the time you need.
I'm very grateful to hear y'all are okay physically, it sucks to hear about all of the Magic cards you lost! 😭 I wonder, did you wind up losing cards viewers sent in for sharpie commander?
Just wondering if you could make a video on how you guys organise MTG cards? I’m a new collector 😌
Yo! How can I get a hold of some of those soggy magic cards? Don't toss em out, I will gladly take damaged cards!
Good lord, this is why I deal with snow. 🤷
the important part is your ok
Can one INSURE a magic collection? Can you guys get pringling insurance, moving forward?

wash your damn hands after touching floodwater, that shit's nasty. maybe wash the packs too, if you think they're resilient enough
How much value was lost with leaky walls
RIP the cards 😫
check for mold
Oof brutal.
Dang that sucks about the cards, natural disasters are an okay-enough excuse for a dip in content
