    xHP Transmission tune fixes all the issues you mentioned, which is great. Having owned two of the M40i's they're basically the perfect car for all functions. its fun, sporty, good on MPG, its stylish, great technology, can store an incredible amount of stuff, it can tow (up to) 4500lbs. Beautiful car all around

    I have a 23 in Brooklyn Grey with black Vanasca leather option and my wife has a 23 X5 with Sensafin and you’re right. Give us Sensafin. My only issue with the X3 m40i

      Thanks for the feedback. I recently recorded a quick video discussing 3 issues in X3 M40i and I mentioned firm seats as one of them. Certainly, better cushioned seats would benefit X3 M40i so much. Do you like X3 m40i or X5 more? My wife wanted X5, but I got X3 M40i for us

      Yep, B48 engine is also very efficient but at the some time quite responsive.

    nice video man. i mostly drive in sport individual - comfort for damping & transmission, sport for steering & engine. 28 miles round trip to work, i average about 22-23 mpg with occassional hard accelerations. this engine/transmission combo in B58 is a beast!

    • @100miledrive

      Thanks a lot for the feedback. Spot on. getting about 22-23 mpgs. With me it really depends on traffic/mood. But yes I had round trips to work and back as high as low 30s mpg and as low as low 20s, so it really depends. My Sport Individual has same settings. At first I thought i would be mostly in Sport Plus, but transmission really keeps it in low gears all the time. I found that to be mostly fun on twisty roads.

      @@100miledrivei tried eco pro but i wasnt feeling it at all. i use comfort on long drives (live in SoCal, make frequent drives to Sacramento), and on these trips i average about 27-28 mpg. for daily use, i dont use comfort as it shuts down the AC at stop lights. i also turn auto hold off as well as it makes creeping up more difficult. i have a tight garage. sport individual is my happy medium and daily use. a little growl and pops, low that wife wont notice but enough to make me appreciate what’s underneath the hood.

      @@overload-58 That's funny you mentioned about using Sport individual where wife wouldn't notice some growl and pops. I do exactly just that sometimes and she really does not notice that something changed :)))) Or I think if she does notice she kind of knows that this car has a lot of power and it probably does it naturally.

      @@100miledrivelol! same boat man! my wife doesnt notice it. but in full sport, or sport plus, she does. i reserve those to my solo trips. also in the process of changing tires from the stock alenza run flats. got michelin PS4 all seasons, but the rear ones are out of stock until late next month. they will help with the overall comfort. did u end up getting a mobility kit? in case u run into trouble? or is BMW assistance enough?

    • @100miledrive
      @100miledrive  Рік тому

      @@overload-58 yes I should get mobility kit. For now just carry a regular air pump. The funny thing about regular tires is that when I go to the dealer and they see it and we talk about it they absolutely understand why I did that. Run-flats are too harsh on X3 M40i and they know it.

    This video was great. I recently purchased my x3 s30, and I love it. However, I was thrilled you commented on the seats; I feel the same as you described. I have noticed that I am more comfortable if I turn on the heated seat function. I am more relaxed, and I'm convinced that the heat causes the seat to soften up just enough not to reposition myself as much.
    This video has also convinced me to look seriously at the 40 with the hybrid system when I'm ready to trade up in a few years. Cheers!!

      Thanks a lot for the feedback. Yes, seats is one of the downers I see on X3. While their quality is OK, but they should be more comfortable. I can see they do a lot of work on X5 base seats but not on X3. As far as X3 M40i it's really a fun car but expect it to be firmer than X3 30i. it is really designed for more performance, also it is a heavier car. I do like it though especially on regular non run-flat tires.

    I would remove the plastic protectors. I’ve seen them melt and bond to the screen.

    I just bought a 2024 x3 M40i last week. It has only been a couple of days and i’m already on Amazon looking for a seat cushion. My last car was a VW with leather seats and it was very comfortable. I drove across the country with the VW. Otherwise, X3 is a very nice sport suv or sav. I drive long road trips for hours. Seating comfort is very important to me. I’m hoping it gets better before the 1200 miles break in is over. If the seating issue continues to be a problem, i’ll end up selling it for something else.

    • @100miledrive
      @100miledrive  Рік тому

      Yep, I also found seats quite firm in this car. They are certainly better quality for Sensatec than in previous generations, but why not make them softer, more comfortable. I will soon be making a video about my ownership experience with my X3 M40i and firm seats is one of the major complains I also noticed, especially like you mentioned on longer trips.

    So eco-mode won’t do much for city driving 😐

    • @100miledrive
      @100miledrive  6 місяців тому +1

      In the city it should also help as it reduces throttle input a lot. It becomes very smooth car unlike comfort and sport mode where this M40i jumps all the time. I probably should record a video on MPG in the city. The funny thing you won't drive it as much in EcoPro as it is not as enjoyable.

    How expensive is premium gas in California?

    • @100miledrive
      @100miledrive  Рік тому +1

      So Arco type of gas in my local neighborhood is around $5.19 for 91. Shell (what BMW recommends) is around $5.45 for 91, but I have their membership so it is $5.35 per gallon. California is the highest for sure. I think that is the biggest reason why people are switching to EVs in such a fast pace.
