I'll give you 1 more tip, turn off your bluetooth connection when not in use to save more battery. Fantastic!
This is very true.. sucks cause I have watch 5 pro, so I either kill battery with one or the other if I do this lol
yeah I used to do that... until my phone was stolen... couldn't use the find my phone feature. I don't recommend
You shouldn't. Newer phones have Bluetooth LE. Meaning Bluetooth low energy. Even if you have Bluetooth on all the time it takes very little power.
@@fwkl 😂
BT low energy is a connection to low energy devices...
It doesn't mean that the BT is using lower energy 😅
@@boobtubeakatv1296 It does mean that ..since a properly designed protocol would use BLE as standby mode regardless of further bandwidth requirements.
Many thanks Saki, Greetings from Spain, Europe! Very helpful as always!
Great video saki. Easy to follow. Thanks for the tips.
First time to your channel and absolutely amazing. Thanks from Australia.
Great analysis, Thank you
Great video thank you so much ❤❤❤
Also there's adaptive power saving mode which enables power saving whenever needed automatically according to usage
Really useful info .. thanks.
Very useful video. thank you
Brilliant. Thanks a million
Thanks Saki!
Great video! Thank-you so much! I just changed from Apple to Samsung and this helped me considerably!
Honestly speaking i have tried all this before but still get average battery life.4h:30m sot and sometimes 5h is all i get which is a disappointment in my opinion.Samsung really needs to work on battery optimization on their next flagship because apple has left them in the dust on that category
What phone?
@@JRBowling1997 s22 ultra
@@Joker-yu5kp you don't game or anything heavy do you?
@JRbowling none of that, youtube, web browsing, social media etc... that's all. I also have the 14 pro max and the battery is much better than my s22 ultra
I bought a new sealed snapdragon 865+ Note 20 ultra 5G. I can easily pass 6 to 7 s.o.t with normal use and games. Barely no use i was able to manage 2 days before charging. Same settings described on this video.
Its safe to say my unit is more efficient than S22 ultra. Currently in Android 15 One ui 5.0
Nyc1 dr 👍
Batteries in the Galaxy phones has always been Samsungs week spot why oh why cant they give us better, other manufacturers manage to do it, I'm sure people would rather a fraction thicker phone for the sake of a bigger battery.
Very informative & helpful as always Would be good to have some idea of how much battery you are saving That is probably done by trying it yourself & seeing what works for you. If I disable my wifi on my old note 8 it still works well using the web 95 percent of the time & saves my battery considerably Also dimming the screen helps a lot to.
Would be good to a similar program for the Google Pixel 7 Pro or Iphone 14 if possible on these flagship phones,
Very helpful, many thanks Sam :)
Good idea, unfortunately Samsung watches and libre2 diabetes app needs Bluetooth on all the time!!!
Very informative
Thanks for the video.. I request you to make video on ONE TAKE video mode in Samsung smartphones.
What aboutwhen device screen is of over night? It looses 20% battery with all you recommended options? The same is Galaxy tab s8+
Thank you sir...
Good information
I know it says it in the disclaimer but when you turn on auto optimization and it restarts, will I still be able to receive alarms from the default clock app specifically?
Thanks Saki, Please make a video on how to stop some unnecessary services running in the background, Like Meta Service, Android Intelligence and many more.
quick tip you can unlock wifi developer options if you click intelligent wifi a few times to see connection information etc
Does the phone still have that mode where you keep the power saving mode using the biggest hertz?
Thanks for the tips Soccer
Donate my prize to a charity of your choice soccer, thanks
Thanks
Your battery level never changed for the whole entirety of the video. Mine went down 1% sometime after 6 minutes.
What's the difference between adaptive battery and adaptive power settings
I suggest you use Spen when you do tips and tricks on the S22 Ultra. Much more easier to see.
do you have a video to compare s22 60hz vs s22 120hz battery? And yes, I'm talking about the smallest s22.
Sacrifice the best visuals and performance to have good battery backup...
I absolutely love this channel!!! I just picked up a S22 Ultra, under the battery settings at the very bottom it has "protect battery" choice that limits battery to 85% charge, I would really appreciate your opinion on this Saki, please and thank you, I always thumbs up before I even watch your video, watching you from north of Toronto Canada 🇨🇦
Honestly I believe it's just for ppl who forget or irresponsible leaving it on the charger, maybe say the bad habit of plugging it in at night when you go to bed which I wouldn't recommend. It talks about it briefly in the description which pretty much covers why they added it. I would just recommend charging it in the day n pay attention to the time it says til fully charged then I subtract 5 mins off that for mine and ask Google to set an alarm for that time.
Like for example right now it says 25 mins so I would just say google set alarm for 20 mins. Done n done! The reason I recommend this way is you need as close to that 100 as possible without going over. It's okay for it to hit 100 as long as you unplug it exactly at 100. This phone has got a little bit of a bad rap for battery life n I feel 85 isn't enough but that's just me. Being conscious of how you're charging your phone is supposed to extend battery life.
Charging to 100% wears out/degrades your battery a lot faster. Limiting the Charge to 85% will triple the long-term lifespan of the battery. You also don't want to let it drop below 15-20%
@@SheerMayhem Ok thanks for the response 👍
@@SheerMayhem so they say.. I find it ironic this is just now becoming a thing. Everyone who works in the cell phone industry is telling me the opposite, that phones are supposed to be getting better with battery optimization/ handling charging the newer they get. I find it real strange I just barely upgraded to this s22 ultra coming from a Note 8 and I left that thing plugged in every night all throughout the night and had no issues ntm was never concerned about it going below 15%
There is no extra brightness setting. S22 Ultra I got in August. One UI5 + Android 13.
Saki, can you help me with something. The information i find on the internet is mixed. Is it worth it to use the 85% battery charge cap in the settings? Does that help with anything or will the battery degrade anyway within 2-3 years. I'm looking to change the battery anyway after 2 years of use, so is it worth it to try and preserve it in any way?
Me too
No, not in my opinion. Technically speaking yes it will help preserve the battery health, but it will do so at such small amount that I don't find it justified to give up 15% of my daily capacity. Especially if you're already planning to swap batteries in 2 years.
Depends on who you are and how you wanna use your phone for how many years without replacing the battery. If you plan to swap battery or a new phone after 2 or 3 years, you don't have to stop charging at 85%. Otherwise, you should.
I'm one of the people who care about battery health. I always use stop charging at 85% since from day 1 with no regret.
Even i keep 85% as limit for better battery life, however if someone could tell me at what percentage should i plug it back for charge? should i wait till the battery drains to 1-2% or should i do it before it drops to 20%?
@@dinosebastian9862 I usually put it for charge before it hits 20%
Idk I just like having that peace of mind you get when you have a full charge.
Disable printing service in connection options
Hey. Can anyone explain why my Google voice assistant had stopped working? New A13. It was fine yesterday. Will only work by typing Q now.
It keeps telling me to tap the mic. Bloody frustrating.
Which phone case is that ?
Problem with 'Deep Sleeping' Apps is that they don't get updated. So, You might save battery but have an 'ancient' version on app that might also have security flaw. Hence I have it disabled
It barely matters since most of the updates involve data collecting "optimizations"
Yes I'd like to save the battery life on the s22 ultra turning Bluetooth off one option battery-saving option but that is the second one but I'm pretty sure that there are more... Because he has 22 ultra the battery goes down quite quick...
It's not the initial settings that you showed like wifi, or resolution that consumes the most battery; it's certain apps like Chrome, Google, Samsung Internet, UA-cam, Instagram, camera etc. All of these are designed to run on a variety of phones, so they aren't battery optimized for a particular device. You can't put these core apps in sleep/deep sleep mode either, or else the phone will be useless.
You can put them in restricted mode, but their functionalities will be limited.
@@YssineVivo Yeah, that's what I said.
Uhhhh yeah you can k literally did on my phone
You can disable chrome and UA-cam and everything I disabled chrome and use Firefox
@@MystiqEevee Putting these apps in deep sleep will reduce the functionality of your device.
I don't see wi-fi power saving mode in my A53 with One UI 5.
good
Thank you so much for these great tips and information, as always. Just a quick question: Do you recommend enabling the 'Protect battery' feature?
I'd prefer it. It stops charging at 85 because when it's at 100, it stops charging and then it drops to 99 then to 100 making that a charge cycle because it goes from 99 to 100 thinking you're plugging it in again. Samsung says there's only about 450 charge cycles before you need a battery replacement so that's why I have mine on
@@emiliogarcia1011 Many thanks for your reply. Much appreciated.
No that's not correct a full charge cycle is calculated from 0 to 100% so when your battery drops to 99% then charge it again to a 100% that's only 1% not a full charge cycle
@@HaikalCharfeddine92 A charge cycle is when you plug it in at any percent then charge to 100. So, when samsung phones, (pretty sure only newer ones, I don't have any older phones to test) it stops charging at 100 then uses the battery however including background app usage etc. Then it drops to 99 and stops charging again then charges to 100 so it technically is a full charge cycle
@@emiliogarcia1011 A charging cycle is completed when a battery goes from completely charged to completely discharged. Therefore, discharging a battery to 50% and then charging it back up to 100% would only be counted as 1/2 of a single battery cycle that's what I learned in school. Also, if what you're saying is true everyone who keeps their phones charging would have ruined they batteries in less than 6 months.
Samsung has battery saver but this doesn't even work how can i get longer battery life i dont even use my phone too much but my z fold 4 battery keeps draining out fast but i dont want to switch or trade my phone
the deep sleeping is not really useful because when added the app into deep sleeping mode, when we launch the app when we need to use; the app will move out from the deep sleeping mode and no longer in there... this required keep on adding to the deep sleeping mode...
Thank you for the video editor tutorial! If I can't can't complete the video in one session, how can I go back and work on it again? Also, is there a length limit on a video I make?
I have my display max settings, res/brightness on vivid ect 120hz and so on, and on a 11 hr work day my battery is only at 80% that's with me listening to my ear buds 75%-80% of the night
Sir plzz tell the name of this case
Some of the options you show are not on the A32 5G or other lower-end A series phones that have been upgraded to One UI 5
Looking for power in app with long press?
Iam having fold 4 but there is no option of screen resolution? What to do now
What case is that ?
The "Protect Battery" limit battery charge to 85% should be enabled? Why?
Z fold 4 please optimized battery
i wanna know how to activate 120hz with the power saving on in note 20 ultra using oneui 5
On one ui 4 you were able to use Galaxy MaxHz to do this but they have yet to update it for one ui 5
My S22 ultra can't move image to secure folder.. anyone can help me?
Then why did you turned off adaptive battery when you are saying us to on it
VERY IMPORTANT QUERY .
Dear sir,
Will the battery go almost dead and useless ,if it is manufactured 6,7 months back, and kept without sale in the shop, even in the original pack ?
Probably that could be the problem with many customers .
Mine is a new ultra 5G.But to test it,I kept it ON in the night for 6 hrs,but kept it on aeroplane mode only .Still 2% Battery is consumed. No Bluetooth etc.were on.
During the day also about 5 hours I kept it with internet on,( not in Aeroplane mode ).But didn't use it.For that also 2% consumption of Battery is noted .But my another phone didn't show any consumption.
PLEASE CONFIRM.
Thank you.
no
Hello Saki. Can you please do a video about the camera's performance after upgrading from android 12 to android 13.?I have experienced problem zooming 100x when trying to take a picture of the moon for example.the picture is all blurry compared to when my S21 ultra was still on Android 12.hopefully after noticing your video later on,Samsung will fix the problem.Thank you.
android 13 made my camera look like a midranger phone! it's absolutely horrible
@@FunkySuperFunky yea
Experienced it today! Also my mic while on video is muffled but when i used portrait video it's loud and clear.. must be a bug!
did you decide to make this video because the most recent update makes our battery on the S22 Ultra last less than a day?
Yeah I'm getting major battery draining on my s22 ultra..it's annoying
I cannot find intelligent wifi
I was wondering and this is kinda of a dumb question is the samsung s21 5g a good phone in 2023? because I have the s21 and I wanted to hear some feedbacks from everyone.
its fine..but if you can trade it in for a free s23 for a plan like visible or mint mobile at like 30 a month..i would do that
@Spazzfrom1989 I wish I can do a free trade-in and get a free s23 but the ultra
@@Batmanofjustice yeah you might have to go with one of thos expensive 80 post paid plans for that..if you dont mind the costs..then wait a few months..youll prob find your deal
@Spazzfrom1989 maybe it's sucks tho because I've always wanted the ultra for years and it's sucks I don't have the money's
@@Batmanofjustice well if you can afford the 70 80 dollar a month plans..they might just trade ur s21 for free..so it might work out
Video brightness is grayed out😟
FHD+ makes my s22 ultra heat up 😢 is it normal?
Another thing that is usefull, in the developer options you have the ability to get a button (like the flashlight or wifi ones) that allowes you to turn all of the sensors off. Gyroscopes, acelorometers, whatever could possibly passievly eating your battery, just poof, gone
Where at in dev options? What's it called?
And there went your access to your camera and microphone...
You phone calls will sound like nothing without them sensors...
Shut them down and then try your cam, mics & phone...
You'll see 😊
Yeah my phone been draining faster since this update
👍
I can get up to 7 hours and some on screen on time on my Z Fold 4
LOL!!!!!
Battery optimization on the new processor really makes a difference
Hey
Hello
My bloototh is always in use
First of all turned off auto sync on any android devices
iPhones don’t have these issues
but why buy a phone if they already know that the processors made by Samsung are terrible? and the consequences that this has on battery. 🤣🤣
DONT BUY S22 ULTRA the battery SUCKS. My old is s9 plus has better battery. I currently own the s22 ultra and instantly regretting buying it
The S23 ULTRA'S battery life is just atrocious.
One more way : change to iphone 🤣
battery life, don't use it as much. Best setting, don't use a Samsung phone with their shite exynos processor
Only if I knew
1 tip: get an iPhone
Sheep. Same features since iPhone 12. Only thing diff is the island, which is an old android feature. 🤡
