My NDE was great, no pain, no worries left my body and moved towards the light when a medical mistake(no oxygen post surgery) left me with bi-lateral strokes. It was difficult once back in the damaged body, intubated and tied down and in a 12-day coma. I too, am gonna exit on my own terms, and no resuscitation is in my will now.

I watched my dad disappear into alzheimers 30 years ago, for two years he was in bed and didn't recognize a soul, and it drained his life savings. there was no dignity in his passing.
am 70, in good health, live in Thailand, already made my intentions clear to my loved ones, they all understand. I will go home in an urn.
I will go when I have had enough. sometime not soon, I hope!

GREAT interview, thanks for this one, short and sweet too!
I dunno if there is life after death. guess I will find out eventually.
I did have a dream where I did not wake up before I "died" as I always have in the past, I went off a cliff in a car, then exploded into millions of brightly various primary colored points of light going off in all directions, like shooting stars. it was lovely and peaceful. ever since that dream I have no concern about death whatsoever. we're all recycled matter... same as water, there is no new water created.
at 70, I am having a lot of memories occurring from all points in time of my life, it is quite entertaining. I have no shame, no regrets or guilt about how I have lived my life. the feelings do come up, but simply in the distinguishing of them, they disappear. it's a blessing to be equipped to have this ability. to be peaceful and content is pretty nice. I give Thailand a lot of credit for this...

I think this was a great topic this is something we should all think about . I am in the process of getting all my end plans in order. I have chosen one of my 3 sons as medical executor , changing my paperwork as I had put all 3 down to make medical choices if I can’t. Now 1 lives over seas & another out of state , I am putting the son who is closest if a choice needs to be made quickly. He knows what I want but I am putting in all in writing & storing it with the hospital. They have a copy of my old choices.

Had an aunt who had an obe during surgery, said she felt herself leave the body and looked back down on herself.
There’s no right way to die, but if you’re in pain or suffering and you have the capability to choose your exit then good luck. Would rather leave behind a pot of wealth for my kids to make their own future better than prop up a failing body and mind.

I am in my 71st rotation around the sun, ageing and mortality became something I started examining in the last year. I am slowing down, but still alive and independent. I would love to not slow down, but it is inevitable.
as I approach this last phase of life, it is not frightening, and I am fine with it, I have had an incredible life. I have created a legacy for my children, can do anything I want, am totally free. I am more curious about when things will get to the point it is time to go than fearful about this inevitability. hope it's a long time yet, but I have no clue. so, trying to make the most of my time I have left, and doing a good job of it! no regrets, and happy all the time! being in Thailand is quite helpful for happiness!

Well, I have reached the grand "old" age of 72 this month. I have been a below knee amputee since my early 20's following a motorcycle accident. I have smoked most brands since I was 13. I have a tipple of Smirnoff vodka each evening before bedtime. Let me tell you. In the mid forties one's life is only beginning. From a young 72 year old my advice is this. Live life as though today is your last and let the future take care of itself.

My grandfather died at 92 in a residential home for the elderly. He had to stop smoking at 83 when he first went into the home. No, he did not die of cancer either. He even smoked without a filter. After surviving WW1 in the military he became a head gardener for most of his life. He only ate organic veg and fruit plus fish and beef. In my opinion, what kills you early in life is stress, an unhappy marriage and the western diet which many people now consume.

Believe in the gospel of Paul given to him by the risen lord Jesus Christ. 1cor 3.4 for i delivered unto you first of all that which I also received how that christ died for our sins according to the scriptures and that he was buried and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures. Don't make the mistake of not believing the gospel.
