  • I got the ROGUE 150 pounds strongman sandbag from rogue fitness and it's become one of my favorite training tools I have. This is a video of my first training session training with the Rogue StrongMan Sandbag and it did not disappoint! Here's my review of its quality and performance opening it up, setting it up, and working out with it

    Great video man! I just ordered one off amazon and get it Friday. Legit thought I had to drive to the beach to fill it with sand.... thanks for the home depot tip (only like $5/50lbs) Loved the video! Im going to make one on mine when it comes in!

    I bought mine, I can only do so much with my barbell in the tiny space of my apartment while the gym is closed so I got the sandbag to mix it up. Looks like the 150lb will do just fine for a while.

    Great job Paul. I bought this thing last week kind of on a whim and now it's here full o sand on my living room staring me down. Trying to get my technique down, throwing it over shoulder and walking with it but it's a bear for sure. Your vid is definitely going to keep me motivated. Thanks man!

    Nice review! I just bought the neon green 150 pound one and i love it. I liked the squat stretch you did before your workout. I'm going to implement that my warm ups now

    Great review, man. I was on the fence on whether I should get the 100 or the 150 pounder. I will just get the 150 one and fill it up with other materials as you mentioned there. Thanks a lot.

    using crumb rubber will make it lighter, so you can have it filled, but adjustable by adding sand, or lead shot

    I had to carry around a 150lb steel drum around at work today. I need to get a sandbag and so some strength work.

    I grabbed a Cerberus Strength one that is the same design. Also amazing quality. I don't know what it is but my body feels like it is working better with these things than just doing squats, deals, and cleans with a barbell (which I still do)
    Something about sandbags

    I gotta 170lbs back and I can lift it fairly easy I guess cause I am short and have to work less hard cause I have less distance to travel

    How is the exercise selections with it? In addition to squats/shouldering/carries, are you be able to do bear hug goodmornings or lunges?

    What do u think would be better? Cyclone sandbag or strongman sandbag?

    • @coach_paul_t
      @coach_paul_t  4 роки тому +1

      Personally, I would prefer the strongman sandbag because of its versatility in movements. Depending on the type of training that you do, I like using the strongman bag for over the shoulder, over a bar, onto a box, etc. I don't have a cyclone bag, but have worked with them, and I find those better for holds (bearhug, on the shoulder) and carries for distance. I wouldn't want to do cleans / over the shoulder tosses for reps. But i can do holds and carries with a strongman sandbag... even though it doesn't sit as nice in the arms or on the shoulder. hope that helps!

    sorry i probably missed it in the video, but did you fill it all the way up to 150 ??

    • @coach_paul_t
      @coach_paul_t  4 роки тому

      Hey, sorry for the delay- yes I filled it up I think its about 130-140ish. I was having a difficult time getting an exact weight with a regular scale. but I'm sure its about there. And I stopped because it was so full, and then when I started using it, it loosened up, but just never got around to filling it all the way!

    I’m trying to decide what size to get, 100 or 150. 150lb would be my max to do rounds with, still locked down where I am and I’ve lost a lot of my legs and back

    • @coach_paul_t
      @coach_paul_t  2 роки тому +1

      Get the 150. Something you can grow into. You can fill it to 100, which feels a little flimsy but works. You can also fill it with other materials that make it bulkier like crumb rubber. The bigger size of the bag just feels better working with. I have both

      @@coach_paul_t thank you - have a fleet of kettlebells (limited on space) so this will be a sweet addition

    Nice review bro, just came across these bad boys yesterday. Had a question. How is the durability of it? I would hope for around 100 duckets it is pretty good?

      I don't mean to butt in, but I've had mine since 2016 and I put it through hell. I drop it on the asphalt, let it roll along the concrete outside, I've forgotten about it in the back of truck over nights during heavy rain storm multiple times, and its shows ZERO signs of damage or sand leakage. This thing takes a licken and keeps on ticken.
      I purchased the original black one, not the colored ones BUT they should be built the same since they cost exactly the same.

    He could of just weighted the bags first then known how much weight in sand he had

    Sorry man but I find it just useless. I’ve used the sandbag before and it’s not worth the expense.
