    Great video and great explanation. I tried mines (KLV 1000) but the vacum wasn't good enough (due to Connection issues etc) for me to adjust, so i will go this way.

      It actually works better than homade vacuum gauge.

    Great video, thanks. Just one question, What happen if I remove the secondary buterfly?

      I know some people have done it, but i'm not sure what's required after they are removed.

    Could you show your primary throttle body sync procedure (specifically the rpm and temp that you sync at)?
    My k3 varies a lot at different rpms and temps, so I end up just adjusting until it vibrates the least.
    Thank you for your informative videos!

      The next time I have an older 1000 in the garage I will try to do that, the newer 1000's are a different procedure for synchronizing.

    Can this also be done with the '07 650? Seems to be an easier process than using the jars and vacuum test someone else had on UA-cam.

      I'm not sure if this will work on an 07. You will need a vac sync to adjust the primary throttle plates. I can't remember which year they started to have to use Idle speed control lock out to do the sync correctly, this is something you have to use a computer to make it happen.

    My zuzuki sv1000s 2006 got rain on. Then it stopped to work. Everything works BUT My top butterflys are locked wide open and i hear the gas pump but i dont see any gas squirting in the carbs. Yes injectors are cleaned. Is this issue a posible relay\sensor somewhere or the lil top butterfly motor thats attached to its side?

      It's really hard to say, many variables.
      If it's not starting at all I would spray a little carb cleaner in the throttle body's and see if it pops off, if it does then it's a fuel problem. If it doesn't pop off I would check the electrical system and see if any water got in somewhere or if a fuse popped etc.

    Thank you for the very detailed and well explained video.
    Just one doubt, what is the hose diameter that fit on the injector body?

    Thanks for that, It would be best to label your 'Extension' pipes 'Front' and 'Rere' also, I suggest?

    • @VStromGarage
      @VStromGarage  5 років тому +1

      You could, but it really doesn't matter, once you hook up the vac lines, you just turn the screw until the vacuum is the same on each throttle body, and your done.

    Hello, what mm are the butterfly’s specs supposed to be ?

    • @VStromGarage
      @VStromGarage  4 роки тому +1

      Only one of the secondary butterfly's actually move, can't remember off hand which one, but I just try to match the one that moves to the stationary one. I haven't seen a spec for that.

    I have a problem with my V strom 1000 2004, when he revs the engine he sounds choking and loses strength

    • @VStromGarage

      Sounds like a fuel flow and or fuel pressure problem, that's where I would start, but it could be a few different things.

    I think better way to adjust them is using the vacuum fittings on the throttle body and a clear hose filled with liquid (ATF). Measuring vacuum is the most accurate way

    I appreciate your channel.
    I have a question.
    My bike is 2005 Vstrom 1000.
    When i start the engine, rpm goes up two to three minutes and when the engine temperature rises, RPM are down.
    I can't start until the RPMs are down.
    This situation does not occur when the engine is hot.
    I've been riding it for five years But I don't know why this situation.

    • @VStromGarage
      @VStromGarage  5 років тому

      How high do the RPMs go when it's cold?
      If it is really cold out I would say that is normal, but if it's in the 60s outside I wouldn't think it would take more than a minute to warm up. Neither of the two 05 1000s I've owned, have ever really had the RPMs at warm up, go up past 2000 rpms. That being said, we don't get that cold here in the desert SW

      @@VStromGarage Thank you very much your answer.
      At the first start of the morning, RPM goes up 2,000 ~ 2,500 during about two minutes.
      I can start engine temperature gauge level 2 and RPMs are down.
      I have never seen another DL1000(05) in Korea, So I always wondered.
      Thanks to your answer, I knew this was normal. ^^

    Yeah, this is not the way to do it. Yes you can line them up nicely, but overtime the vacuum each cylinder pulls will change, and those need to be synced up.

    • @VStromGarage
      @VStromGarage  2 роки тому +1

      The problem is you can't sync up the secondaries with a vacuum gauge, so I figure close is good enough with these.

    Capped off and connect together are two different things. They should not be connected together.

    Would have being more precise to use the pointy side, not the indented side of the end

    • @VStromGarage
      @VStromGarage  5 років тому

      That is plausible

      You are measuring from an edge that isn't machined and that can make the measurements wrong.
      Make a measurement from edge and down to the centre-axle and find out if there are any differences.
      It is better to measure the opening between body and flapper.
      And when you measure, please use the caliper the correct way.

    • @aaronremson9815
      @aaronremson9815 4 роки тому

      Dieter Meyer just read all this as it applies to my current situation. Just to be clear.. which side, point or indented, is the correct side to measure?
      And do you know what mm is spec for the butterfly’s?

  • @parolajd
    @parolajd 5 років тому +1

    The two extension hoses should not be connected together.

      as long as their capped off it really doesn't effect anything.

    Video is called “throttle body sync…” but doesn’t show anything about that. What gives. Should of called it “ butterfly valve sync”

    • @VStromGarage
      @VStromGarage  2 роки тому

      Actually, it's called secondary throttle body sync.
