You found some cool stuff at that one! The scraper plane is interesting to me. The NO. 3 in the box should probably be in a museum but not sure which one! Cool stuff all, MJ.
It just kept drawing me back and finally I had to buy it. It was the only thing I asked for a discount on and that was only because I had already spent over $500. They dropped the price just a bit for me
Thanks! Seems like you may have ended up with one of those chisels but maybe that was from a previous trip. 🤓 It was a good trip though. Already looking forward to the next one
Your lucky in a way as your back east, lots of tools were made in the east. That is a cool adj wrench. I have a bunch of spoke shaves too. The v logo is nice. I will double your price on the #3. 17$ ? lol
We do have access to some great tools out here for sure. Not as many here in Virginia as there are in the Northeast but we do ok. I’ll bet that no3 is either gonna make it’s way to Australia or out west
So I buy a ton of stuff from estate sales and I see things not together or priced terribly high and terribly low all the time. I don’t think it’s our responsibility to educate sellers on their items value. I’ve under sold stuff before. The point of an estate sale is to get rid of everything so anything we buy is helping towards that goal.
Agreed 100%. Sometimes I’ll give a private seller more than they’re asking if I know the item is worth significantly more than their asking price but I seldom do that at estate sales.
Ohhh that no.3 is sweet! Nice score
I hemmed and hawed about buying it for a while but the purchase receipt was what really sold me on it

It was definitely one of those “can’t miss” estate sales. That No12 is legit! Someone spent some time on that sole
Ah, the "what is a slick" question! Backing away slowly...but commenting to appreciate your chisel!
It is kinda slick, I must say
@@justplanefun ;)
That #3 could be a nice christmas gift that ended up never being used :D
Definitely a solid theory
Nice job bub, great score. Hope you and family have a great Christmas MJ.
Same to you and yours, Bill! Merry Christmas! 🎁🎄
Beautiful slick
Right?! That thing is a beast!
That no3 with the receipt and the box was extremely cool

@@justplanefun glad you got it!
Neat Video as always . Love to see this stuff
It was a great sale! I had to drive 80 miles to get there but it was worth it
Jealous. Lol
Merry Christmas MJ
Nice picking trip.
It was 100% worth the long drive to get there. We had a blast!
Great video.

I 100% agree about about estate sales. Always strikes me as a particularly ghoulish proposition.
Agreed. We’re all using dead mens’ tools, but at least we’re keeping their history alive in some way - the tools and the previous owners’ legacy, eh?
$8.00 in 1953, according to the Inflation Calculator, is $92.19 here in 2023.
Sounds about right. I’m hoping to get a bit more than that on the resale 😎
@@justplanefun I suspect you'd take $125 for it.

Flipping nice!
It was a great trip. I’ve seen some of the stuff you find at those swap meets out there! I know you know exactly how it goes
