Some of the best content I've seen in a minute. thanks for all the hard work from both you guys, 🙏 can't wait for spring to get here, so I can get my damn car out of the garage and start aggravating Derel again 😎
you can see the differences in resonance tuning between the two manifolds on those dynos runs, especially in the mid-range. the later mid-range bump for the 24+ manifold indicates that its going to peak later as well. good stuff guys
Love it Ken and Wengerd performance! Ken your the reason I went with Wengerd on my 97,000 mile 120 mile a day ESS G3 10 r car I live in the northeast and my Velocity Blue GT is white right now from salt from all the snow we’ve had here! But I will say it was -1 degree this morning and in August we had temperatures in the 100 degree plus and this car runs incredibly well in either one! Thanks Mr Wengerd!
Very cool and awesome data for a real world comparison between these 2 manifolds, that is some interesting stuff guys. I don't know about you but the 24 manifold with dual throttle bodies does look more impressive to the eyes.
that area under the curve is impressive between 7400-8000 rpm if the car has a aftermarket hood to allow for induction clearance that would be a good setup.
Hi Ken. Good video!!! I like the S650 Mustang but it is irritating that we don’t have the ECU/ECM encryption by now. I was told by one of the VPs from Ford that they released the encryption to Whipple, RTR, Roush, and Ford Performance so why in heck do we not have the ability to mod & tune the S650???? Very frustrating. Oh well I am hoping that we will get it soon in the Spring time!!!!! There is no reason to get the CJ if I am gonna put on the Whipple. I really wanna go with the ESS!!!! Thanks for the good video. Like what Daryl is testing!!!! Cheers Brother!!!! 👍👊💪🇺🇸🐎😎
Don’t put that idea back in his head lol. We have already talked about it. Not worth it in my opinion but for uniqueness and just plain different it would be cool if someone had the money just to toss around.
How do you tune for this manifold? *edit* Nevermind i see that it isnt a direct mod it takes some wiring plus alot on the tuning side. Ill go with a cj it costs more but its tried and true. Answer given i jumped the gun.
@@SpeedAddict731 nice job on this video. I wouldn't have thought that 2024 intake would improve that much up top. I'm assuming your were on e85 making them runs.
Would love to see you guys compare the 2024+ intake with dual-throttle to GT350/Bullitt intake on a Shelby GT350 since that car loves to rev into the higher RPM range. See if the 2024+ picks up or loses power compared to GT350/Bullitt manifold at WOT.
Great video always enjoy your content great job looking forward to seeing you guys at the track showing the so called competition the taillights Ford power forever baby a real Chevy and dodge killer the best never rest they just keep getting better has a Ford blu by you later come get some
so how come the gen 4 crate with dual intakes is not tunable but the gen 4x crate is? seems like the stock PCM offers independent throttle mapping on each throttle body. unless im 100% wrong and ford is making it look like the twin throttle bodies are complicated
Nothing beats a cj. If it is set up properly it is the best manifold for a 5.0. With cams it shines anyone running cj should do at least l&m intake only cams if not a full set of cams. It will make power at high rpm better it has to be setup to take advantage of it. It obviously costs more but it is the best.
@@d3et1roi3t no sir. That is his 18 car he has for testing the turbo car was a 15. He still has it and then he also has the 20 ESS car that he test with as well. All of them are white.
@@SpeedAddict731 Man, cant believe I didnt notice it was an 18+. Lol Like i said 8 years ago or ya 15. lol You boys doing good over there one day I will have yall build me something.
I highly disagree, a port job could possibly carry the power some but 40+ hp up too is serious power for cheap, not to mention I’d your doing cams, or maybe swapping it into a gen1/gen2 that’s substantial. If someone could make a plug and play style install kit guys would jump on this mod and be damn happy with it
Appreciate it! We were testing between the two intakes to compare. They were both tested the exact same way so nothing was skewed for the data we wanted.
Excuse my ignorance but who is revving their engine out to eight thousand RPM? What other modifications are on the car other than the 2024 intake manifold?
@trevorcunning6248 I think more so with opg it's just keeping it off the limiter. I have mine done already but yeah plenty of ppl shifting closer to if not at 8k
@o0purehate0o yep I agree. I try and shift at 8k. I have accidentally hit 8,200 before. No rev limiter on mine. I wouldn't let anyone else drive mine.

Yep, Gen 3 coyotes are in the 24 mustangs. They added two throttle bodies and couple little other things. It originally said gen3 S550 Mustang GT. I was changing it when I was making it public and the Title was meant to have 18-23 in front of Mustang GT. But when I released the video it didn’t save and I didn’t catch it until later. If you change the video title it messes stuff up with UA-cam so I left it. But to save issues from more comments like this I’m changing it lol.

Great video guys thx for putting it together! Was this done at your new shop? If so looks great 👍
Thanks and no it was not at my shop. A dyno up by Daryle.
You guys should port the 24 manifold and see what it does

Great video sir, this is why they should call you guys the dynamic duo. So, can you add a larger throttle body on the 18 and get the same power?
The twins carrying 😮
thanks for the vid

Wonder how this compares to a ported boss with boost
Very nice! 🇺🇸
Not looked ahead, i believe the 18 will be better. The 24 does look cool, but my money is on the 18 being the better choice.

Wow this is interesting info definitely curious what hp gains come from porting the 24+ mani
What about the Maf sensor
Not used. Converted over to map

First! good info! what do think ported 18 vs 24?

@@midnight347so far with my ported cj/ monoblade it runs really good
what about a cobra jet manifold with vmp 69 throttle body against the 24 manifold?
Very interesting. Been thinking about an intake swap myself!
No lol.
How does the boss intake hold up?
So if the 24 intake is less restrictive than the 18 intake that should mean installing boost should result in more HP and Torque in the 24 intake
need this tested on gen2
Could you have the 18 ported
Yes
Is that white stang Daryle's old On 3 Turbo car? Thats the car I found Wengerd on youtube prob almost 8 years ago?

A map signal Mustang? That’d be so good for boost
Makes sense why the 350 manifold is better at high RPMs, larger TB
It's not just the throttle body the manifold itself makes power at higher rpm that is what it was made for.
Would’ve liked to see the graph with RPM instead of MPH
But what about torque?
Interesting..
Worthless mod tbh. 18 makes more torque. Port job will carry out the powerband. Good data video though!
Data is always good. I love to see comparisons between things to see how they stack up. Like I said in the video I would do a cobra jet.

E
Who else is at work watching this while designing a machine to test GM manifold pressures after assembly, leak testing.

Pretty much every tuned Coyote revs to 8k
I believe Wengerd has mine shifting at like 7800+ on a ess supercharged 18 a10 gt.
@rebelyell22 oh Roger that. All I keep on hearing is that people are afraid of their oil pump gears going out so they shift around 7000 or 7,500
