How to Factory Reset Kwikset Halo Lock:
1. Remove back plate
2. Take out battery pack
3. Hold program button
4. Drop battery pack in (Continue to hold program button for 30 seconds)
5. When lock beeps let go of program button
6. After two red flashes tap program button
7. If lock rehands and ends with green light (Completed) If not please repeat the steps above.

Tried factory reset but still won’t connect to Bluetooth on app. After I press A and try to pair in the app the lock shows red light and that’s it.
Had to remove the saved Bluetooth settings in iPhone settings “forget device” and it worked

Mine keeps saying “no locks found here closer” every time and restring

Follow up to my previous comment, I did indeed do the full process without removing the side screws. Not a tremendous amount of time saved but a few minutes of searching for a screwdriver around the house if you don’t have one handy or whatever. Good solid information regardless. Do appreciate the video

Not sure if anybody’s pointed it out yet, but unless I miss some thing there’s no real need to take the screws out of the side of the unit. Once you remove the darkened plastic cover that’s on there, you have access to the battery pack and the programming button so I’m not sure I see the need to remove the two screws…

Great video! How do you fix a jammed? I can’t seem to unlock it with my iPhone.
So I'd give this a try ua-cam.com/video/i5TDSqqy7Tg/v-deo.html or try widening the hole the deadbolt goes into. I know sometimes it can be the door too. So hopefully this helps!

I did everything you mentioned and the reset process worked exactly the same but after that, the lock will not close automatically afterwards, after being left unlocked. It's driving me nuts. Anything you can suggest to get me to the promised land? thanks again!!!!!

What does a factory rest do ? Why do it ? Is there a difference between factory reset and system reset ? Will this delete existing users and codes ? This would be top of my list of things to know when doing a factory reset tutorial.
Yes so factory reset is everything where a system reset would just be the wifi? If you were to get a new lock from someone the is used normally want to factory reset or can be used in troubleshooting. But great idea!!!
The only way I was able to reconnect my Halo to a new WiFi was to remove it from my "Home" and add it again. This kept my users list intact. The Reset, System or Factory will delete users pins which is a bigger inconvenience. Still I had to dig for 1h until I decided to delete the lock. WiFi reset procedure did not trigger a connect to new WiFi algorithm just resets and nothing else in my case at least. Quite frustrating. @@TheSmartHomeHelper

Please help I followed all your instructions every step but kwikset 914 still wont factory reset after I see the red light flash twice I press the button again but nothing happens still waiting for the green and red flashing light
It could be a bad lock I know this is an older brand. I am sorry I can't be more help but normally these steps work. If it is not rehanding or resetting that typically means it needs to be replaced.

Thank you! Now I’m STILL having problems with getting the lock to go all the way back in. Also, it will not detect the bluetooth! I know ot will do so, it just stopped working after SmartStreets rep messed with the new doorbell camera! What should I do. SafeStreets phone rep said buy a new lock! This is a new lock!

Hi could you give me any insight on why my deadbolt didn’t login my door activity this morning it’s been working fine it only missed one in and out
I might check the connection. I'm not sure if the lock was on bluetooth or Wifi, but it not being connected may of missed the information possibly. I'm sorry could not be more help but that would be my thought on it.
This was installed in our brand new house. The pin pad thing works great but it's impossible to pair via Bluetooth and use the app. If I hold the A button it never turns blue and allows me to pair. It just shows a red light the entire time. Did this factory reset and still nothing.

Hey can you help me out. I put new batteries in 3 different sets of new ones and it’s not getting power.
I've had this issue before too. I'd check the springs make sure nothing is broken. I might try rehanding ua-cam.com/video/-bwwVqH9hBs/v-deo.html. But yes if either do not work you might have to replace I think is what I ended up doing too.
On our phones, it says "lock offline" on our weiser app. But the wifi is plugged in.
What can we do other than factory reset? We don't want to have to redo all the codes we have saved on there
I’m not familiar with the Weiser app but I might try sending a command to lock to wake up lock or check batteries. But yes it sounds like it may of lost connection and would need to be reset and resynced.

Holding the black button more than 3 minutes, not seconds, but never heard a beep or sound of any kind. I took my finger off the black button and it flashed red once, then green once. I clicked the black button, the lock moved in and out and the touch screen went blank again. What am I doing wrong? I never could get any beep sound and no 2 red flashes. I tried it all several times.

Resetting can help. Do you it attached to your phone and what type of batteries are you using
I noticed that yikes light stopped flashing but mine continue to flash a soft green/yellow every 10 seconds. Is that normal?
Maybe? Did the lock reset for you?
I get the green and red light and the lock open to lock but never closed up or gave me the green light

For the Halo, you would need to app to add a code if you have Kwikset app you can add there.

The factory reset should reset the lock, but if you are seeing trouble it can be very sensitive so I would just suggest trying it again.
It did everything except the toggle of the lock and the letter “A” lit up red
I might check the batteries I have seen that effect it beforw

My lock keeps going low battery and I just changed the batteries like a few times
I have seen resyncing the lock help before and resetting. The other thing to check would be if the door is ajar.

I might check the door to make sure that look is going in smoothly. Sometimes the weather can effect this so do you have to push or pull a little bit to make lock go in smoothly?

So you will need to sync it up with an app to create a code ua-cam.com/video/yDpUwyVlgPg/v-deo.html. This one does not allow manual code creation.
Carefull the batteries die after a couple cycles of the lock.

Depends but I've seen it last anywhere from 8 months to 16. If you have the orignal batteries they are no good and I would switch them out

@@TheSmartHomeHelper I didn't all of that it rehanding but the app keep saying jammed. And it does unlock and lock with the keypad
Okay sounds like an issue on app maybe try logging out then back in and if that does not work I'm not really sure what the issue is. You may have to reset and resync
These are the worst locks on the market. Tried to factory reset it because when I would hold down the a button it would just be red and not connect to wifi. Taking it off now and throwing it in the trash. Chinese garbage
