Not fair. Baker lacked maturity in Cleveland, and these past couple years have helped him to grow up. Colin never doubted Baker’s talent & passing accuracy. The only question was would he ever grow up and be a leader.
Would have liked to hear more analysis on Tampa’s play instead of just how well Baker Mayfield fits. Tampa’s run game has really come alive the last four games, the O-line is run blocking and protecting much better and the secondary is tightening up. Tampa is a dangerous team when they are able to run. They can give Detroit a run for sure. Philly looks like a team that quit. On Palmers TD run after the sideline catch, you can see 41 kind of jogging to the tackle which gets him there late on a bad angle. Something is going on in that locker room and I don’t think it has anything to do with play calling. 10-1 teams don’t become 1-6 teams unless there are a bunch of injuries or disruption in the locker room. A turn around like that isn’t a result of play calling.
Because Tampa isn't interesting. They got into the playoffs out because of a weak division and played the worst team in the NFL in the first round. Who cares. Philly's collapse is much more interesting
Baker played injured and kicked butt! He had 3 TD’s and +300 yds in a playoff win which was a Tampa Bay franchise record. Not even Brady was able to do that. You respect McVey and McVey respects Baker and helped to rebuild Baker’s swag and confidence after being mistreated by idiots back in Cleveland and Carolina. He doesn’t need to hide. He’s kicking ASS in Tampa. Everybody excels when people believe in them and that’s why YOU continue to publicly criticize and doubt Baker: to bring him down. That’s cruel and unprofessional, Colin. Why do that? What do you gain? You’re a successful sports media figure. Why do you feel you need to fuel drama and negativity? It doesn’t make sense ✌️

Hey Cleveland, how has that Deshaun Watson worked out for you guys? Does he EVER play any games given all that money you handed the dude?! And hey Panthers, how did Bryce Young turn out for you this year?! Ironic and Poetic Justice that The Texans, with Deshaun Watson watching from the sidelines in Houston, beat the Browns and Baker wins a playoff game to move to next round and past Cleveland that treated him like crap!
Baker had 8 coaches in 6 years (record). Colin makes excuses for QBs that change an OC. I don't know if he's great but to write him off & hate on him when he's been screwed time & time again is unfair.
Plus Baker was hurt his whole second year in Cleveland and played anyway versus someone like deshaun Watson who just sits on the sidelines collects a huge paycheck and probably had to have a lot more women rubbing on him cuz he's so hurt 😆😬🤷
Colin Hated Baker. Criticized him above and beyond. It was almost like a personal vendetta against him. Said “ Baker just not a QB you want leading your team”. Colin needs to apologize and say I was wrong. I was immature not him.
It may have been calculated, even worse than being merely immature. Colin may have picked on someone different than the norm for his own benefit, ratings and clicks. He ascribed all manner of bad character traits to Mayfield that he couldn't have known anything about.
I was thoroughly impressed with Baker last night. He was 22 of 36, it should’ve been 28 of 36 if his receivers had played a little bit better. I think getting bounced out of Cleveland and around the league humbled him and hopefully as he regains some swagger, he won’t get over his skis again.
I knew Eagles would blow it. Ever since 9ers showcased their weaknesses, then all teams exploited that same plan. It was all over after eagles lost to Seahawks.
I was telling my dad just that. The 49ers just destroyed their foundation, and they just looked lost, like they took what embarrassment they might've felt after that game and just weren't interested in playing anymore. They just psychologically never recovered from the beating they took from San Francisco.
@Enzo575 I'm a 49ers fan since 89. What I saw the packers do. It's worrisome for sure. It's a bunch of kids playing with nothing to lose. That's the most dangerous kind of team. The Eagles didn't fall off the table. They've had the same issues all year, despite their record. The rest of the league figured them out. They can't tackle. They can't handle the blitz. They don't practice hard. As we've watched the end of the season and the Wild Card rounds, Hurts has been dropping like a rock. He got beat by Baker. In Philly the "fans" trashed the Bucs because they only scored 9 points in beating the Panthers. They scored 9 against the Bucs and lost by 23 points. The Eagles are a clown show.
If you thinks hurts is the problem then you don’t know football. He’s the only good thing about the entire franchise right now. He’s constantly having to make up for trash play calling and making plays out of scratch. He’s being out in positions to fail and still found a way to win 11 games this year
@@jonahlewis5568 Ouch. The old you don't know football attack. If you thought the Eagle's were good instead of lucky before the 49ers crushed them, then you clearly don't know football. Further, Hurts regressed. He looks confused. Did he look like an MVP tonight? Did even look like a top 10 QB? He looked average at best. Even you said good, not great. Look at the QBs left in the playoffs. I'd take Stroud or Love over Hurts. I wouldn't take Baker, yet he beat Hurts when it mattered. Mahomes, Allen, Jackson are no-brainers. Stafford won a Super Bowl beating Brady to get there. He lost by 1 point to Goff. Jury is still out on Goff, but like Hurts he took his team to the Super Bowl and will likely beat Baker. Purdy we'll just have to wait and see. But here's the problem for the Hurts defenders. The Eagles offense (their skill players and line) was good enough for a game manager plus, like Purdy, to win more games than Hurts won. Now maybe he's hurt. We know his finger was. It's clear the coaching and scheme hasn't helped him. But he still looks lost - on the field, bench, and maybe locker room - he still can't read a defense or defeat a blitz and he still won't stay in the pocket and take what's available. And it's clear the league has figured him out. Some QBs might be good enough to freelance. Hurts isn't. The last seven games proved it. So he's gotta change. Maybe he can, maybe not. The Eagles are trapped. But once he gets the big bucks it might be grim. Especially since most of the money is invested in the offense.
Not an eagles fan, but I legitimately believe they ran out of gas. Playing in the SB, the hangover just caught up to them. I'm about the Bake-show. Let's go!!

@bluepit2021 very well could be. I think it's the Mack Brown syndrome. The ex Texas coach. Great CEO, but once he couldn't keep his coordinators, it all went to sh**. Colon Cowturd-the quintessential Monday morning Quarterback. If the Bucs had lost, we’d be getting a sermon about how right he was all along about Baker Mayfield.
The Panthers had a guy named Ben McAdoo as Offensive Coordinator and he ran the most predictable offense in the league. The league passed him by 10 years ago. They were a disaster last year and looks like they still are.
So far defensive coaches are 2-0 against offensive coaches in the playoffs. Colin, what do you have to say about the "offensive league" and the need for "offensive coaches"? Both games we're not close either.
@codythomssen9337 I wasn't even talking about McDermott. He played a defensive coach. Small sample size of the best remaining teams. It wasn't close.
Colin the Coward is screwed up in his vendetta against Baker I seriously think he might try to take a hit out on him or pay someone to hurt him... Sort of like Tonya Harding did with Nancy kerrigan 😵💫😂
Here's a joke for you, Colin...your analysis lol. I'm kidding, man! I'm not a fan of NS either, and I felt that way prior to tonight's game. But in all fairness, you made excuses for why all of the other coaches lost, but you're not extending Nick any. He obviously lost both of his coordinators from last year. That would affect any team! Lastly, I agreed with your picks on all 5 games. That was sharp analysis breaking things down with Millman. Keep up the good work, man!!
The way I see the league now after watching these games is 1 of 2 things. This league is predicated off of coaching and QBs. For a long time people have said that finding a franchise QB is one of the hardest thing in sports. And in some ways, it is. Most teams, unless you're the Packers I guess, whiff on QBs more often than not. Not every draft is littered with a Patrick Mahomes or a Joe Burrow or those types of QBs. But I think in reality, finding a great head coach with a great football mind is one of the top 5 most difficult things to do in sports. I believe a great HC can make a mediocre QB look good and a good QB look great and a great QB into a Hall of Famer. But when you put a bad or mediocre HC with a great QB, it'll make that QB look mediocre. And that's not a place a team wants to be in, cause it's just not a simple fix.
@@thomasblock1164 I think there are definitely more good to great QBs in the league rather than HCs. Look at Goff for example. McVay made Goff into a borderline elite QB for many years in LA and managed to even coach his way into a Super Bowl with Goff. And yknow clearly Goff is a good QB, but there's a reason why they moved off him for Stafford, who by many was considered to be an elite QB, and him and McVay won the Super Bowl year 1. I think OCs are also extremely important too, depending on the HC. If you look at McVay and Shanahan, they've ran through coordinators and haven't really missed a beat at all cause they're elite coaches themselves. Then you look at a guy like Nick Sirianni, who lost both his coordinators and was completely exposed this year. My thing is that I believe a great HC can make or break a QB rather than the other way around. I don't think good to great QBs can overcome average HCs. Just look at Herbert or Hurts this year compared to Andy Reid and Mahomes or even Shanahan & Purdy.
@@EndertheWeek I definitely agree with that too. I think the GM-HC relationship is equally as important as the HC-QB relationship but the GM/HC dynamic is more behind the scenes whereas the HC/QB relationship plays out in real time in front of our eyes. I think most fans watching the games closely can tell if the HC and QB are in sync, like the way Mahomes and Andy Reid are for example or Harbaugh and Lamar.
@@haydennyagah706 Yeah, the thing with Shanahan and McVay is that they are the defacto OC. Reid as well, plus a bunch of others. This seems to be a very good way to structure a team. I do agree with everyone here on the chat that, ownership, GM, HC, and staff, have a HUGE effect on success in the NFL. Hence why Lions, bad for so many years. No GM. Now we have one. Brad Holmes is so important in the Lions success so far. The way they draft they should be quite good long term. Campbell has a big say in the draft as well, especially on the character side of the ledger.

A lot of people did, too, including the team that drafted him.
@JBM425 and ALL WERE WRONG.
😮😂
Darnold isn't done. He looked fine in week 18 1st half against the Rams. In the 2nd half, he was forced to play with all back ups on the line, RB, WE, and TE.
Glad to see Baker's success. My parents went to OU and I've followed him for years.
Not fair. Baker lacked maturity in Cleveland, and these past couple years have helped him to grow up. Colin never doubted Baker’s talent & passing accuracy. The only question was would he ever grow up and be a leader.
Baker balled out.
Mahomes fan huh?
Tampa has had two straight solid drafts! 4 or 5 of their picks from this year are playing meaningful snaps!
Patricia. Lions fans know.
It's a result of certain people choking. Hurts is the personality type to choke
Because Tampa isn't interesting. They got into the playoffs out because of a weak division and played the worst team in the NFL in the first round. Who cares. Philly's collapse is much more interesting
Imagine if the Browns had a qb like Baker.....
Colin said Mayfield should retire before this season BTW

You respect McVey and McVey respects Baker and helped to rebuild Baker’s swag and confidence after being mistreated by idiots back in Cleveland and Carolina. He doesn’t need to hide. He’s kicking ASS in Tampa. Everybody excels when people believe in them and that’s why YOU continue to publicly criticize and doubt Baker: to bring him down. That’s cruel and unprofessional, Colin.
CONGRATS TO BAKER MAYFIELD!!!! BAKER MAYFIELD THE QUARTERBACK OF THE TAMPA BAY BUCCANEERS. GO BAKER MAYFIELD…that’s all
I knew Eagles would blow it. Ever since 9ers showcased their weaknesses, then all teams exploited that same plan. It was all over after eagles lost to Seahawks.
Actually after the cowboys beat them, but yeah
I was telling my dad just that.
Yep, Eagles fans are horrible. They can suck on Baker Mayfield's big fat contract, and the Bucs after party. 😂
The Eagles wouldn't have even made the Super Bowl last year if Brock Purdy hadn't injured his arm
@@philliphoff I sure would have liked to have seen how that would have turned out. Very disappointing.
As a Browns supporter, my new team now this playoffs is Tampa by default. You all know why. Go Baker!
Eagles need to rip the band aid off and move on from all the older vets they still have. Make the youth movement and focus on the development already
They need to rip the whole bandage down. Older roster at key positions, limited head coach and a God awful defense.
Sure, except it was the old heads on the D-line who were the only ones making plays.
But you need the proper staff to develop young players and the Eagles don't have that
Hurts needs to go

Do you think there are more good to great qbs, or good to great head coaches? How does the O coordinators factor in?
I would add a GM into that as well. And even the owner (Jerry Jones!). The whole organisation needs to be a well oiled machine.
