Colin you give the most knowledgeable .. no bias.. professional sports commentary on TV and podcast there is out there today..Thanks for your hard work..
Bill Belichick was the head coach of a dynasty that went to 10 Super Bowls and won 6 with Tom Brady. I am not sure how he did it being the GM and the head coach for those years-- both are full-time jobs. Belichick also known for letting players go one year ahead of their expiration date, yet he did not fire Belichick the GM despite his last 4 dismal years. However, I would not hire him to another head coaching only job-- I would never give him a G job-- until he can explain making Matt Patricia his offensive coordinator and destroying Mac Jones career. I saw a spiteful man who should have been fired in New England after OC Patricia coached.
This ownership is terrible almost worse than Jeffrey Lurie is at owning the Eagles. The Falcons can’t even hire a head coach that will help them win. What a disgrace this team has become. Hiring a guy like this is a terrible idea. They need someone with experience. The falcons not only won’t win not season but now they need a QB they have nothing. The falcons will be lucky to win 5 games next season.
This is when all those years of being rude to the media comes back to bite you. Now they have the power to create a narrative about you before your next interview.
Bill is too old and set in his ways. Time to retire. Enjoy retirement. He could sell sweat tops at the beach and personalized each one with a scissors, cutting off the sleeves.
Belichick is still a great coach, but if he can’t specify what the offense will look like, and if he wants total personnel control, how long will that last at 71? His défenses are still elite, but who was going to be OC? Who was going to be QB? Brady ain’t walking through that door. Belichick the GM got Belichick the coach fired. That wasn’t going to last without real rethinking.
Best landing spot for Belichick… New England. He fumbled the best spot for him with his personnel decisions, he had the power to have major input on a good GM that fit his style. I think he pretty much sealed his fate in NE and around the league with a lost year for 2nd year starter Mac Jones, which continued to spiral last year.
2 Super Bowl wins in New York predicated on defensive genius Bill Parcells and the greatest defensive player of all time Lawrence Taylor I think every GM who was in need of a Coach did the research and crunched the numbers and quickly realized Bill Belichick was an absolute fraud without Tom Brady. The statistical forensics are actually quite easy to summarize and figure out .437 Win% in 140 games without Brady. Bye Bye Coach Bill enjoy your new job as a hotdog vender at Foxborough stadium I'll have extra relish with that Bill 🌭
Belichick was a genius with Brady in the line up in the same way in basketball the triangle offense was genius as long as Mike Shaq and Kobe were part of it.
Regardless of accolades, ppl aren’t fond of Belichick’s coaching style in power and or personality. Just an observation. I’d think he’d be in another job by now.
Bill had too much control in New England and he's been crap post Brady so it's no surprise that his services aren't at a premium!! He'll be lucky to get a head coach job, he's a defensive coordinator at best these days!
If I were Belichick, I would’ve planned a retirement in New England. He missed an opportunity to bow out gracefully. At 72, he’s done it all and I’m sure most owners are concerned if he’s either motivated enough or young enough to build up a franchise at this point.
Bill is not getting hired because he's stuck in his ways! The game has evolved past him. Owners are moving towards younger more innovative coaches that can relate to today's younger generational players! The rule of nature is you have to evolve or get left behind. So what you are seeing is exactly that!
I’m so thankful the Falcons didn’t fall for the shine and hire Belicheat. He would have run the falcons roster into the ground and also didn’t sit right with me to hire the coach who beat you in the most heartbreaking loss of sports all time. Please Falcons draft Jayden Daniels!
The problem you mention with Bill is the same one with Vrabel and it's why he's not getting any offers. Vrabel was in a power struggle with Titans ownership and the new GM as well. I don't think any team wants a head coach that wants to run the entire organization like Bill did.
I'm 65, and I always laugh at younger people who ignorantly assume that if you're 60 or 70, you somehow become some sort of mental invalid. Well, Colin and others reading this, Belichick is a lot smarter than you are. He was smarter than you before he turned 70, and he's smarter than you now. The only reason you think Belichick is washed up is because you're too ignorant to believe any differently.
The last couple of years of Belichick’s tenure damaged his legacy. Didn’t want to get a QB off the street, that was better than what he had on his team, to just win as many games as possible, maybe make a last “run”. To just “stand pat” and keep losing was not a good look. And he wonders why he can’t get a job. He’s a seventy something, stubborn and set in his ways. Folks are thinking the game has passed him by. By the way, teams aren’t exactly standing in line to hire fellow seventy something Pete Carrol either.
I don't understand why this was a surprise to anyone. Does anyone think that Bill would have more than, AT MOST, 1 ring if Brady had never been in New England? And I hate Brady, because I'm a Colts fan and he ripped my heart out way to many times to count. But anyone who thinks that was Bill's doing instead of bradys is just delusional at this point. There's just to big of a sample size now of Bill's teams without Brady. Anyways, I digress. Reid greater than Bill and Peyton over Brady haha
Colin outlined my concerns with Bill (weak drafting and bad staffs) but man Morris feels like a yes man hire. Remember he was the DC and eventually interim head coach during the last year of Quinn and that went so well.
Listen he is a 2x Super Bowl winning coach as assistant/ coordinator - been on 3 Super Bowl staffs- will probably bring someone from the rams to run the offense- and ATL will draft a QB in the top 10
Lot of ppl crapping on Bill, and you’re right to a point. Still a defensive genius and coach. His offenses since Brady left have been atrocious. I see it this way, 1st 10yrs of dynasty was Bill’s defense with Tom as a game manager and last 10 was Tom as QB and defacto O coordinator/coach.
Belichick probably wanted way more money. He is a hall of famer. One of best ever all time. His age time coaching for years should be over. Retire bill. Please. Have respect. But yes also full control of team. He's general manager to. Time to go home travel. Family time. Bills total coaching record is long super over all. Glad to see Atlanta hire this man.

Colin you give the most knowledgeable .. no bias.. professional sports commentary on TV and podcast there is out there today..Thanks for your hard work..
Belichick is overrated. Would not have won without Brady. The idea that he's the greatest of all time is laughable.
I’m surprised he didn’t blame bash them both as coming from defense
Atlanta took someone who coached for them and went 4-7. Someone they could have hired 3 years ago and passed on.
"Belichick the GM got Belichick the coach fired" Truer words have never been written.
Arther Blank just proved he is a bigger fool than Jerry Jones
That's not possible.
Yeah that’s not possible 😂
Maybe Belichick gets the Washington Job and hires Josh McDaniels to get the band back together. Lmao😂
If Bill would ever just be DC, like he did for the first two in Superbowl victories in NY... he would surpass his own 8 Superbowl rings... 6:19
You don't win 6 SBs as head coach and then go back to being a coordinator
10-22, 7-23, know what they means?
@@krumbleme2 Who cares about those Super Bowls? He sucks now. Quit living in the past.
2 Super Bowl wins in New York predicated on defensive genius Bill Parcells and the greatest defensive player of all time Lawrence Taylor
I think every GM who was in need of a Coach did the research and crunched the numbers and quickly realized Bill Belichick was an absolute fraud without Tom Brady. The statistical forensics are actually quite easy to summarize and figure out .437 Win% in 140 games without Brady. Bye Bye Coach Bill enjoy your new job as a hotdog vender at Foxborough stadium
I'll have extra relish with that Bill 🌭
Hey teacher care to try and take this M.I.T Grad on?
I'm waiting here for you
Looks like we have an opportunity to see Bill & Tom in the booth calling games ? 😮🎉🎉🎉
wasn't morris the interim coach when dan quinn got fired? falcons probably just more comfortable with morris and know him well.
I don't blame any team who isn't willing to hand over the franchise to him... I wouldn't want my team turned into the patriots either 😂😂
All I know is this: After what happened to Mack Jones, if I was an owner, there’s no way I‘d let Belichick anywhere NEAR my young quarterback!!
Legacy of not beating don Shula will be hard on bill
Shula called him “Belicheat” 😂
didnt know that! just looked it up@@blaketindle4703
They can control Raheem… Not bill.
Let’s be real. Atl is not competing for the SB in the next 3 yrs, so they don’t need a BB… go get a young coach and build a team
Belichick might be playing the long game. Next year, the Cowboys start off with some loses and ol' Billy comes in to save the day
Bill lucked into Tom and Tom made Bill. The numbers say as much.
Most companies don't hire an employee that got fired from the last job because they were doing a crappy job.
If I were Belichick, I would’ve planned a retirement in New England. He missed an opportunity to bow out gracefully. At 72, he’s done it all and I’m sure most owners are concerned if he’s either motivated enough or young enough to build up a franchise at this point.
"Arthur Blank has never hired a big-time coach" You know what else Arthur Blank has never done....WIN
Bill is not getting hired because he's stuck in his ways! The game has evolved past him. Owners are moving towards younger more innovative coaches that can relate to today's younger generational players! The rule of nature is you have to evolve or get left behind. So what you are seeing is exactly that!
he is old, he is the past...they went for youth and a long future not no future
Yeah but also sometimes even if you change and evolve they still left you behind
a lot of these teams arent trying to win, its the same reason everyone in the nfc south passed on trading for lamar jackson
5 out of the last 8 NFL Coach's hired have been Defensive Coordinators... Is it really a offensive league
Heck no! Only reason Chiefs win every year is their defense
Raheem Morris brings his lifetime 21 and 38 record, to change the Atlanta Falcons culture. "A rising superstar" 🥴
Nobody wants to give Bill full control. He has no track record of winning without Tom
I think owners are hiring younger more hip and more energetic coaches than the older and more stoic
Belicheck is a two to three year commitment that's it. If Bill Belicheck is successful the team he ends up coaching won't want to see him leave.
Bradys gonna tell bill to mail him his superbowl rings.
Belichick is not passed his prime as a coach because his defenses are still really good🧐Brady just made Belichick look great on offense.
This is a” what you done for me lately” people forget his first 20 years. However Belichick’s drafts the last ten years have been abysmal.
He probably wants full control, but his drafts were awful. He also didn’t have a strong record after TB12 was shown the door.
And before Brady he was horrible
The game has passed him by. He only wants to coach to break Don Shulas all time win record
Seriously man just retire already, play some golf enjoy life. You’ve accomplished enough in the NFL. It’s time.
Any NFL fans of a struggling franchise actually want him as your HC?? I don’t.
I DONT KNOW IF THIS WILL GO OVER ANYONES HEAD,BUT IF U COME TO ATLANTA,YOULL SEE WHY WE CHOSE RAHEEM🔥🔥🔥🤷🏾♂️
Raheem.. Not a sexy pick. But he's a Falcon Now! So I am behind him 100%. I wish him the very best for us.. Let's Go Falcons!
FALCONS: Grab Kirk Cousins and get that edge rusher with the #8 pick and you’re ready to roll.
When you said Stetson Bennet had “personal issues” did you mean Tylenol 600mg?? 😂 😂 😂
in 2024, BB is a good d-coordinator and no more than that, it’s delusion to think he can do anymore than that… the man is just too old and too set in his ways to change with the times
