🇨🇦
Scrapyard wars!
xmusa im canadian too...get RX 480 8 GB version BECAUSE cheaper than GTX 1060 and has 2 more GB of vram. AND CAN CROSSFIRE ! (1060 CANT SLI]
xmusa I put the all the parts prices together and this is around $750-$760
+CasualGamer117 At $300 my 480 Strix OC great.
just bought all the parts most of them from amazon but the motherboard from newegg lets hope for the best
Cool cool. A pity I didn't make it in time., any other H110M in my opinion would be fine though (MSI red and black is my favorite)
Michel Hanson Just got them in the mail and im getting the mother boad tomorrow then gonna start building i hope i didn't forget anything
How did it go?
JiF Difficult but got it to start up and now i need windows 10 and an Ethernet card
Kable10 any updates?
This was the first PC I ever built when I knew nothing about computers lol
Haha same here
Me too dude and the amount of times I had to upgrade it because it really sucked
Same here. Now I'm looking to spend around 1600 for my next computer 😌. I still have this computer tho.
Lmao SAME , anyone else’s sound like a airplane tho
Same
I built this computer as my first custom pc. I've never built anything before this and I barely knew anything about pc's. It runs great and im suprised i was able to build a functional pc. Thank you Austin for the videos
good job man
for some reason when I close my eyes I can't see ...
Saad Aljalowdi Dude that's so weird that happeneds to me too.
Lol
Saad Aljalowdi you can see the inside of your eyelids
Saad Aljalowdi for some reason, people are very unoriginal.

Yo
@@lessoninthelariat its so weird that theres 3 people with over 200k subs in the comments
"HzzzzAustin" Gotta love the dedication you put in your intros
just bought all the parts :), gonna be my first gaming pc
Cool!
Patrick Fakhoury welcome to the world of pc gaming!
It seems like a perfect configuration for a first build! Good luck :)
Patrick Fakhoury let me know how well it turns out
It's gonna be a great computer!
Meanwhile in croatia, that gpu and cpu cost $500 :DDDD love this countryyy
in my country it costs 19k say now
zMiLqn na balkanu je sve oko 3x skuplje zato sto lopovi radnje drze
ikr
Rod Cor come to Brazil and a ps4 bundle costs a over a 1k $
this pc costs 760$ in my country
FML
Now due to cryptomining this PC is around $700.
TheRedFlash1 not if u get the parts of eBay!😂
thats weird, I was able to put together a pc for $650 with the same specs but 16gb's of ram and an i3-10100?
a little late to this but I need a new PC for the kids and this one is nearly perfect. On amazon today the build reaches about $530 but with a small tweak here and there I maned to replace the 1tb drive with a 240 ssd which is enough for my kids, can always add another later on, and I replaced the GTX 1060 with a 1050 because they don't play intense games like I do and thus the lower end card is good enough plus cheaper and it's till better than most cards from previous gen. I managed to lower the PC to around $450. Win a nice hd monitor for around $80, a mouse and keyboard I'm set for them to have their own PC and leave mine alone. Thank you Austin, you rock.
Austin must be getting swole lifting all those thermaltake cases
💪
save 80$ more for a i5 6500. definetly worth it
Im new to building PC's. If I use the i5 will I need to replace any other parts in this build to make it work and if I have a budget of $650 what would you recommend I replace if I do use the i5 and have money left over?
Taxi Rider it will work fine and i'd go for more ram or an ssd.
ssd
Better psu (seasonic bronze rated, about 500W), 6gb varinant of 1060 or 8gb varinant of rx 480. Maybe ssd.
I'm rocking an i5 6500 right now and it's great!
just ordered all the parts, it's my first gaming pc
Torres does it run well?
ImR27 the parts get here in a couple of days I'll keep you updated
I'm probably getting the same parts, but idk how to get the drivers after I boot it up lol
Pretty sure it's on the evga website tho
ImR27 same lol
I really like when you think you just found a gem of a budget build, only to add up the costs and realize it’s $212 more dollars than labeled
Anyone else already own a killer PC and just watch these videos for fun?
Yup, I also love searching the comments to help beginner pc makers
I have the i7 6700k and Gtx 1070 I watch these for the lols
Just to watch the $500 builds when you already have a pc build worth $1400

built this pc 2 christmases ago, still going strong and works damn well
how bout now?
@@HafiyTheDude yes, it’s still going good. sold it to my fiancé and the only thing i’ve upgraded is the processor, completely usable in 2021
Hey Austin. Thank you for this build. Not super expensive but can run high end graphics which is nice. My first computer I am actually building.
this looks amazing
*oh wait i live in australia*
price converts to $650
postage is probably $200
import charges probably $50
some other bullcrap $100
total price: not $500 gaming pc build :(
why not just go to a local computer store, and 650 isn't bad at all either
BoomBrush I'm in the same boat mate
Yeah but you're not surrounded by blacks, so that's nice.
SpykerSpeed lmao
rel8 m8 because computer stores here rip you off so bad. a friend of mine went to one particular (eds pcs) and got charged $2000aud to get a gtx 960 and an i5 4690k with 16gb ram and some generic 120gb ssd. australian online distributes are less worse but include big markups on things like postage. for my machine i found the cheapest things was on sites like amazon and newegg. i didnt buy a computer case (postage was like $100+) i just used the one from when i was a kid. computer shops most likely import items from the united states so they have to pay the postage and import costs therefore adding to the cost. plus youve got the massive markup these small computer shops put on because their target audience knows nothing about computers or the pricing. so i always order stuff online unless its cheaper in the shop, which i checked and its not by far. i dont think austin includes the price of postage into this "$500" build, probably because it depends on where you are and maybe he bought the products in a store. it would be great to of paid $650aud for all the products listed in this video, but that is simply unrealistic. australian postage is really bad too, so even if it was $650 for the components, expect a postage of at least $250 given you are sending a case, motherboard, graphics, hard drive, cpu, ram as shown in the video by austin - those boxes are quite large. i could go on, but i think i have answered "why not just go to a local computer store" and "650 isn't bad at all either" quite well.
I started laughing really hard when he stared into the camera after saying "qualitized" lmfao

im still rockin my photon 1.0. LOVE this pc only upgrades i made was ssd. able to play any game still high to ultra setting 40-80fps
Nice video as always, how about a "what's the best browser" with Microsoft Edge now supporting plug-ins and promising better performance with the Windows 10 anniversary update?
Planning on a new browser test video next month!
Look forward to seeing it :)
Khaled Salhani Austin! It would be fun if you make a video. Where you upgrade an old macbook! (an macbook unibody. Or older macbooks.

I'm watching this on the photon 2.0
Is it good?
same
Me until this year
+Cloudy Clips (literally 2 years later but)
It's fine, not as good in 2018 or 2019 though and i'd recommend just changing out the CPU and motherboard for Ryzen 3 2200G and just look under 'Frequently Bought With..' on amazon and there'll be one there.
(If you can't find one, google "B450 mATX motherboard" - what that means is it's micro ATX, which is what this case is for, and B450 -
the B means it's lower end and the first digit (4) means that it's for Ryzen 2nd-gen, which this CPU is.)
Anyway, yeah, that'll make it faster and better. If you want better performance, since GPU-wise that would technically be a downgrade, get a GTX 1660 Ti or GTX 1660.
Leii Lo 2200g is first gen 3200g is second gen but it doesn’t matter since b450 supports both
This build in Spain is around 650 euros, not even near to the price of a console...
Friendly Hoovy I know and I cry because of it :'(
Here in Hungary it is approximately 700 euros which is almost the amount of the double of an average salary/month here :D
*Adds everything to cart in Amazon. Finds out it's $711.08 because he lives in Canada*
DAMN YOU CANADA!
Welcome to life outside the USA! Not only is everything double for us in Jamaica, but it also comes with taxes.
CPU Zaffre (Praixz Zer0) just out of curiosity is it because of taxes or shipping or a bit of both? I always read comments like yours but nobody ever says why things are so much more expensive across the border
tedatlas its both but the taxes or customs duty is the killer. In the Usa you just pay what is asked for online and wait for package. Now imagine in addition to getting your package, you have to pay even more! In us dollars I bought the gtx 960 4gb for $260 (at the time) so when it finally arrives here in Jamaica I paid an additional $100, the taxes being the largest cost. So I virtually paid $360 for that in total. It's worse in the stores so I'm a bit grateful.
Canadian and US dollars don't have the same value. $670 cad is the same thing as $500 so It's actually not that much more expensive.
Well yeah but I wanted it to be $500
Well time to start saving
Built this computer when this vid first came out and it’s still going strong 💪 it’s slowing down tho now and thinking about upgrading the i3 to something real new
My mans really got his memory in single Channel ;(
It’s intel it should be fine
Austin is making some gainnnnnz at the gym. Keep it up bruh. ever think about adding fitness into this channel?
Are MAD GAINZ Worth It?
The Mad Gainz Fitness channel lol I like it. Keep it up and by next year ur new name is gonna be Arnold Evans
Pls add Fitness to your channel nice gainz
Are you part of the new October build, Austin? 😏 (No Homo)

This shares so many aspects to my rig, that it's literally no joke.
it is a joke lol. 2 cores struggles to run chrome lmfao
@@idkafknhandlebrah well, I'm glad I upgraded to a hexa-core ryzen about 8 months ago lol

Pretty new to this, only know extremely basic things, so sorry if this is a stupid question. How well would this run Overwatch, and would it be able to play on ultra smoothly?
Also, are there any improvements you could make while still remaining around the same price range?
PencilVsMonkey going to i5 6600k would be ideal and would be $600+ and upgrade the gpu to a 1060 6gb ver prob $700
Egoin Nitram Thanks! Another question, it'd be possible to upgrade to those after the build is done and has been used for a bit right? I'm on a tight budget right now and won't be able to dish out an extra $200+ for a few months.
***** well ye thats an upgradable build and you probably should go $800 so you could get a better pc theres another $800 build austin made check it out
This is going to run overwatch fine, but you could do a an i5-6500 or instead do the 6Gb 1060 instead of the 3GB shown here. Either or will stay in a similar take and give a decent improvement depending on whether or not you'll he doing graphics intensive or more processor intensive tasks. If mostly gaming I'd do the 1060 6GB and just keep the i3. That and, you don't need to spend $800 to have a decent computer as the other guy said, this price point is perfectly fine and will run most new games at high settings.
tip: if you want a 500w psu don't get the evga one, get the cooler master b500 ver2 it's cheaper but still the same amount of power and is 80+
Built it in Feb. Amazing little rig!
I wanna build this exact machine, except what i5 would i need to get because I dont want an i3
The Lizard King depends you can get the i5-6400 , i5-6500, or i5-6600
***** Thanks, all 3 are compatible?
yes that one is fine what do you want to play?
The Lizard King yes they are all compatible
thibault vernimmen I wanna be able to play battlefield 1 at medium-high settings at 1080p, i have an alienware and it can only run bf4 on low in 720p. This will be my first build and dont wanna screw anything up
would this cpu be a better option : Intel Core i5 6500 3.20 GHz Quad Core Skylake Desktop Processor, Socket LGA 1151, 6MB Cache [BX80662I56500]
Yes it is a better option. 4 physical cores is always better for gaming. So don't hesitate.
Here's my list I changed the cpu and the ram Hi. Check out this list: www.amazon.com/registry/wishlist/YKNBHYZAQ0UD/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_an_wl_o_0RJdybJCYQGCR
Ok. Ok. Not bad at all. All it needs now is the Xbox One controller to go with it. Hell, you could even get the Xbox 360 controller instead which I think works a lot better in fighting games.
Intel Core i5 6500 3.20 GHz Quad Core Skylake Desktop Processor, Socket LGA 1151, 6MB Cache [BX80662I56500] is a better option
I have a ps4 and I much prefer the ps4 controller over any other which I've used on my laptop on dungeon defenders before which my laptop is trash
is this better than boson 4.0
Awe5ome9amer21 yes
Awe5ome9amer21 yes
I used this and upgraded it so it's like a $2,000+ rig. It's using a 1080 instead of a 1060 and an i5 instead of an i3. Motherboard is the gigabyte H110M-S2H. RAM is the same. Using the H13 case (with window) PSU is the same. But I'm using a Kingston SSD and a 3TB Red HD. So yeah, add a load of accessories for the setup and yeah. Full PC setup
can i switch core i3 with core i5 ?
yes you can. just make sure its LGA1151
Devil Slayer absolutely! When I'm watching this I was thinking, an i3 would bottleneck that gpu. So I would drop some more money on an i5
Devil Slayer Yes
thanks guys
Devil Slayer Yes, honestly, I feel like the i3 is a waste. Go for an i5 or just go Pentium. Really depends on what you want to do with it
Can you do a Boson 4.0 when the new amd zen comes out.
Definitely doing a Boson 4.0 early next year but might be a little too tight of a budget to include Zen. We'll see.
Bought all the items. Gonna be my first pc build.
As of 2/18/2017 adding up all amazon prices in US dollars, its $560 now, damn it went up in price
could this build run the game "Rust" please someone respond. all of my friends play and im on a budget.
it could run it with ease.
The minimum recommended ram is 16gb so get 2 8GB Crucial Ballistix on Amazon: austin.tech/ballistix8gb (the one in build) don't have to get from amazon can look for cheaper of all the parts and also i believe you will need a better graphics card, however i'm not sure i'm not big on this stuff. Every thing else should be good, rust is just a very demanding game.
Jacko481 that is man!
*thanks man!
Servin Daily no problem dude
okay so this will be my first build. Will this run gta 5 with mods ? When does the fps look bad ? and will I have to apply thermal paste ?
It will run GTA V with the mods. The FPS looks bad when it drops below 30FPS and no, you won't have to apply thermal paste. If you are willing to spend $80 more, then get the core i5-6500 instead
Michel Hanson Thanks for the reply man I'm definitely gonna spend the 80$ cause thermal paste is the only thing scaring me lol
Michel Hanson one more question can this build handle vr?
Alexander Mullins
You have money to spend on VR? lol. That's what they are adverting. "It's VR-READY." I can't afford it, I'm a broke-ass peasant in debt.
it will, but if it lags use 1080p instead of 1440p
This video helped me out so much I have everything basically the same on that pc except the graphics card
Bought a used XPS 8500 for $250
-i7 3770
-1TB HDD
-256 SSD
-8GB DDR3
-WIFI
-AMD 7570
- Stock 430w PSU
-Just ordered a GTX 1050 Ti SC for $150
How did my $400 deal compared to Austin's?
I think if you cant afford the i5 go with used. i3 is good but it still has issues in a few titles that like 4 or more physical cores. for example i got i7 860 and motherboard for less then 100 and at 3.8ghz it blows that i3 out of the water. Then i found a r9 290 for a little over $150 wich with my overclock matches the 1060 in most games with less then a 10% difference in the games it cant match it. Trust me used is always the best option for budget builders. I blow this rig out of the water for half the price.
Used is always a gamble. Most of the time you're going to be fine but you never know what dumb things someone did with the hardware before you get it...
That is a good point, my uncle's old Phenom gave up the ghost today and instead of getting him to go used with another one (as it fit his needs nicely) I told him to go with the i3 6100 as it is powerful and can support the light gaming he needs it for well into the future.
Austin Evans like scrapyard wars!
in some cases, yes, but for all sellers almost every person has a different opinion about what something should sell at. so in some cases, people might think the i3 is total garbage and sell it for $75 or so, while other people praise it and sell it a little bit less than it's original price. so in some cases no doubt you're right, but I would prefer not buy a used cpu and it be defective unless I take a lot of precautions limiting the freedom of my new pc.
***** I've been running this i7 860 overclocked to 3.8 for the last year with no issues and ran my q6600 for even longer. If a part works when you buy it it will only break if you do something to break it. These cpus were made to last 5-10 years as long as they run at recommended voltage and speed. Thats why there are still Pentiums and other cpus that still run great 10+ years later.
Would I have to pay for the win10 OS or........?
I will say yes! Unless you want to learn how to be a pirate of the internet seas.
Michel Hanson Would it come with a default os?
TyresNT Sadly no.
Michel Hanson I was going to pirate. What is the difference?
Da Chimp
It's basically free if you pirate it. There are a few myths about getting spyware and viruses and being blocked but they're all just that, myths. Just check in the comments of the torrent you will download first and you'll be fine.
Tip: If you have an old computer (Mac, PC) you may be able to use the ram in it.
i built a pc based on this one. its really good so far. i used an Aerocool GT Advance case and different ram and a ASUS GeForce GTX 1050 2gb graphics card tho. it runs really well.
Wouldn't the 4gb RX 480 be better?
Yeah pretty much. The 3GB 1060 competes with the 470, so the 480 would probably get a few extra frames over this card.
RX 480 would probably require like a 650w PSU, though I aint sure how much of the 500w this build uses, so I aint to sure, but the RX 480 uses ALOT of power
actually a rx 470 8gb wold be the better option, as its much cheaper in various areas and also a very power card. I got one myself cause 480 and 1060 just are way above the budget
+Rod Cor you made it sound very sarcastic though.
+Harry Armes nope, only about 30 watts extra under load, on idle it's about the same. 500w is plenty for the RX 480.
I'm new to this, installing an i5 changes nothing build-wise, yes?
as long as it's the same socket, nope, no change.
an i5 is much better for rendering vids and photos but thats it pretty much
Make sure it is Skylake. Dont bother getting a 6600k as you would need an aftermarket cooler. So get a 6400, 6500 or a 6600 if you are gonna
+Mohammed Abdalla also the motherboard can't overclock, so a k processor is a waste
LukewarmRaptor6 also that
I'm thinking on building this. The only thing I don't like is the case but it will be very easy to work with
this is literally the setup I had planned just an asus dual 1060 instead of the evga 1060. I guess without knowing what I'm doing I did a pretty good job
I'm actually considering buying this as my first gaming pc. Is this actually a good build? Especially for a first timer?
listen you dont need to build or buy it there is a giveaway going on right now on this awesome pc if you want join check out the video
+derpy153 when does the 7th gen come out?
i know im off topic but do you have to buy fans as well? im kind of a noob at this but i've been learning a bit :P
oh thank you so much :)
derpy153 I have never built a computer, but I have had a ton of laptops I have had to do work on. One of my laptops had ram that got SUPER hot; so I would say a ram fan would be a safe option.
this is the one i built for 500$
i5 6400
GTX 1050TI
1 TB HDD
350 WATT EVGA Power Supply
16 GB DDR4 CRUCIAL RAM
was it worth it?
you tell us
Rikent huh?
FalloutExo17 is it good can it run games like gta ow bf1 csgo pubg?
DankMeme_Z yes
you should upgrade psu for more power to run gaming gears
best build of 500 dollars i seen so far
Austin I didn't know you went to the gym cuz damn those muscles
that PSU costs $128.379 in my country wow!
Mayuresh Patil India nice
The PC parts are so cheap in America! Here in the UK, 500 dollars gives about £410 but this build costs £715 on Amazon. What a rip off
That Brexit tho
Austin Evans Was always that way, market prices will decrease in the coming mouths due to leaving the EU.
mouths
I hate this, and also hate that all the youtubers I watch are American so pretty much a $500 gaming pc is about a 650£ gaming pc
Used to be 1.7$ to the £ now it is 1.2.
i didnt like the thermaltake case, so I researched and found out the NZXT S340 case is compatible too.
I recently got a pretty good looking build together on amazon. It was very similar to this one but i've added led light strips, a monitor, and the speakers $676.71 is the total price.
why not rx470 4gb? better choice for sure.
470? The 1060 is much stronger than it
3gb sucks badly
David M. // VFX. Gaming, not editing
As long as you're playing at 1080p, 3GB is pretty much sufficient for everything you need. These cards wouldn't be a smart idea for anything more. The 1060 3GB also has less cores, it's cheaper for a reason. Not just the VRAM.
EknineEd1385 in some titles you already need more than 3gb at fullhd. and if that will get Mainstream, the card will be a lot slower than the 470 4gb. but you're right, atm 3gb are enough in 99%
i think there may or may not be a giveaway soon but take it with a grain of salt
Prob a good move
Lol that 1060 and i3 combo thrashes consoles.
Bought this and able to play resident evil in 4k no problem. Only difference is I'm running 16gb instead of a 8gb
RX 470 8GB would be much better than GTX 1060 3GB.
Nope, definitely not. More VRAM doesn't mean it's more powerful!
pSyk I agree with the person above me, it would not. More VRAM does not mean its better at processing things.
No, the 1060 3GB is faster than even a 4GB RX 480.
Who said otherwise?
MLGBanterVids That's funny, cause he pointed out that it was a 3GB 1060.
Hey guys this is Austin
Ordered every part, thanks Austin!!!
Hey there!
To anyone of you who are thinking of building this PC, let me give a fair warning first: This computer performs great, but it will cost well over $500. It looks like the average build price for this is around $800.
I want to build a PC but it will b my first one and I know nothing about it
Is it fairly simple or no?
Watch the vid in the description
Its really simple, "grown up" legos.
It's really easy. It's just like putting together an ~8-10 piece electronic puzzle but having instructions.
its fairly easy. the hardest part is getting the power/reset button cables in the motherboard. that and cable management.
Daily uploads? I didn't know you were Scarce...
Pulled an all nighter to get this one done ha
WARNING GUYS: if u guys are considering to connect this pc to a old monitor that only supports VGA. Don't.
Why? Because the motherboard in this video doesen support VGA. I would recommend you to get the MSI PRO VD B250 in austin's boson 4.0 Video.
Great build! I am actually going for a 750 max budget so I am going for something more but i might just upgrade some of your parts and go with this build.
i have a question ehm can this run total war warhammer and fallout 4
Yup yup yuppity yup yup. 100% guranteed
thanks
Yeah... this thing is about ass powerful as my rig bar half a GPU's difference in compute performance and that can run recent titles in 1440p medium
+REXPac I'm not totally sure on this, but I think the minimum requirement for fallout 4 is at least an i5
John Gonzalez yeah I know but I have the core i3 and it plays very well on it.
Won't the i3 bottleneck the 1060?
it will in some games but its a price you habe to pay at that budget
hi brotha, 2320. sandy bridge masterrace
yeah, but gpu is much more important for gaming than the cpu+ with the new skylage you can simple replace the i3 with a faster i5 or i7
not that much, the i3 is pretty good in some cases, but if you're worried you could swap out some of the stuff for amd parts if that's one of your biggest concerns
Nop
Austin, Thank you so much for this video! Now I have a Gaming PC
I mean the dual core i3 is fine but a core 2 quad Extreme edition or just a amd fx series processor is a great option
How would you upgrade this with a budget of 700 dollars?
Max get a GTX 1070 GPU , and a core i5 6500 CPU
Genewashy ssd won't help with fps and gaming performance
Get an i5-6500 and an SSD. Also, make it mini-ITX because mini-ITX rules. If you can, also bump it up to the 6GB version to have a bit more VRAM breathing room.
So how was the cable management in the case?
Actually not too bad. Not as neat as I'd like but a lot better than most cases at this budget.
Austin Evans ok, thanks :D
I built this PC, AMA
KERNAL why
it costs 560$ now in USA
gonna build it with an i5 and an rx480
Frank Doukas I did it with i7 how is yours going??
Got Ya gonna order the parts next week but I'm going with an i3,my budget is low and the prices in my country are pricier
Frank Doukas good choice:D
Got Ya thanks but still I wanted a i5 (even tho with the i5 it would be 690 euros)
Frank Doukas the rx 480 g1 had a terrible cooling system, the rx is solid though
Can you build a laptop somtime in the future!
umm
Samsun 03 not sure if troll or just.......
Who dafuq would want to do that?
hahahah nice joke
You can't or it is too difficult or expansive to be worth it so no one has ever bothered to try.
I like the build. Not spending much and really a bang for the buck for the kind of games demoed in the video.
The thing I like about saving money within a long period of time, is that the 500 dollar build might be less than 500 bucks when you save up all the money...and you can potentially buy better specs.
just bought all the parts for my b-day. I hope it's worth it
GamingBandit21 yeah I bought the parts of this PC a few days ago
how did it go ?
Bought all the parts too and it runs great.
so the pc runs good for all games?
Simple Swag yea all the games like dayz and arma 3 and rust
In New Zealand the 1060 is $500 by itself
...ouch.
I am going to build this pc next month, only problem is that i dont know what cpu i need.
This pc is for gaming, not for editing or working.
When are you next going to do a PC build? A build that would be quite interesting would be a Hadron 2.0 (probably with a gtx 1080)
It's 2016 and the first comment on UA-cam videos is still "First."
