I agree with you that it's not overrated even though it's super popular. It smells absolutely beautiful. To me I get a lot of vanilla and fruit, which I love. The downside is that it doesn't last on me at all, but I think that's my body chemistry, plus I run warm which I know "throws a fragrance" right off your skin. 😮💨
We discovered this in Tunisia this month. My wife and I both really like it. The coffee comes out nicely in the mid. It's subtle but it keeps revealing itself throughout the day. Thumbs up!
Its still my most complimented fragrance. Idc if people say this is generic or its a `bitch`fragrance (someone literally said that to me. Its sweet, powdery, has a coffee note and I love this since the minute I first smelt this. Has amazing longevity and really good projection. Great review !!

I actually had no idea of its "reputation" and how popular it was. I have emptied a few testers over the last years and finally decided to soon purchase a bottle. It has become a very comfortable scent for me to feel beautiful and sultry but still like myself to me. Out of curiosity just looked for reviews and hear a lot of connoiseurs bash it a bit ;) well I am following my intuition, I guess my taste is not that unique then ;)
I never buy original fragrances. There is a shop called fragrance academy that makes dupes of known fragrances for way less. So I used to smell the originals and then go and get the duped versions. And even though the dupes are excellent I went and bought an original black opium just to honor the brand. They deserve to get payed! Since it came out it has been the most amazing scent I have smelled. Duped or original it is just glorious. They nailed it 👍👍👍

It smelled like it'd go on a guy to me tbqh, didn't realize it was a sample of perfume not cologne. Well that would explain why it immediately smelled good to me. It doesn't smell like a grandma either, on a woman I feel like it'd smell like the cool older girl.
I've been buying different perfume so I could decide what scent do I love.. and I realized, something Citrusy and super powdery is not my type and I expected that Black Opium will be that super strong, classic perfume. I'm glad it didn't give me headache and didn't made me nauseous. Ahahahah me and my sensitive Nose.

I love far away and Imari from avon when I was a kid, it smells like my grandma and my teacher , for me they smell good but for old it smells like a old lady . Sniffed this one at Ulta today and I liked it but it didn't sweep me up like My Way, which I bought a small bottle of... But turns out My Way vanishes on my skin after about 5 minutes(!) even with several sprays. Guess I just don't have the skin chemistry for it? Might look more into this one. Looking for that feminine but not excessively feminine scent. Lesbanese friendly 😉

if you just spray it into your clothes and let your body warm it. It will change and last a lot longer than letting your body's metabolism canabalize it.

I'd say it is definitely a different step in a different direction compared to good girl (going off both the originals and not the flankers) good girl has more lilac in it while black opium is based on a more jasminey sweet scent. Good girl is sweet but not as sweet as black opium by a long shot. They both however have a kind of warm embrace with a slight musky tone to both as they dry down. And black opium definitely has more black coffee tones where good girl seems to have an ever so slight powdery, but heavy tonka bean/ coco bean vibe. Nonetheless this is all based on my own skin, but I hope it helps anyway!

She is a person with very strong self-esteem, she can't accept the taste of letting her ex-boyfriend be taken away in her impression.
I don't see it as sexy. It's warm, feminine and classy. I guess in the west trashy girls people wear it to the club (where I would never even step foot) and that's what shaped peoples opinions.

Just smelled this one today, it was lovely and intoxicating. The lady I asked about it was nice enough to show me the bottle and it was the green one.
