I would love to see a Hill House re-reaction with Eric and Calvin/Rick (if they haven't seen it) or Eric and Janci/Jake/Obi or everyone all together. Basically Eric + any BW crew member that hasn't seen Hill House! 😊
FINALLY!! I've been begging for this!! Admittedly.... This has been my only Mike series. 🤷🏾♀️ Which I've loved. N can't wait for y'all to get into. 🥰 Oh n hey Erik... Use ur good ear for the credits.😅 N also, we know the journey... Can we get more than one a week?!😂
I'd want his reactions for the sake of Two Storms with those super long takes, and for the storytelling overall. To me, the latter aspect is similar to Lost (which Eric knows very well), in the way it's constructed and the very human focus with some horror styling.
@wavehellhole I've just managed to get halfway through the last book last night. If Flanagan makes this his best work, I'd be VERY impressed, it is a WEIRD story at times.
Edgar Allen Poe is my favourite author, and speaking as an English major, his works are inventive and inspiring for many genres. His short stories, poems, and one novel deeply affected my life and everything I love about the arts in general. This adaptation draws from everything Poe. This is what drew my attention - I actually didn't know anything about Mike Flanagan or his other works lol.
As a fellow English major I absolutely love Poe,and I love how they incorporated his work and into this series. Remarkable perfomances and another great offering from Flanagan! (Imo)
I'm a big fan of Poe too. The Fall of the House of Usher is probably my favourite of his short stories. I liked how this show wasn't a straight-forward adaptation of the source material and instead incorporated a lot of different things from Poe's work into an original story. Also, this show exposed me to a lot more of Poe's poetry like Annabelle Lee and The City in the Sea which I wasn't as familiar with; with the exception of The Raven. But the show has reminded me of why I love his body of work so much, and I think Flanagan does a really good job of paying homage to Poe while also doing his own thing at the same time which I respect and appreciate.
After this first episode reaction we need Eric reacting to "The Haunting of Hill House", "The Haunting of Bly Manor", & "Midnight Mass" with Rick, Calvin, and/or Aaron ( as his guide ), for the channel. Both "American Horror Story" and the Flaniverse Universe series are Anthology series that reuse their actors over and over again, Eric.
I would love to see a second watch through of the other Flannigan shows with Eric and someone if he's really never seen them. I don't think Blind Wave has ever watched the same show with 2 different groups but if they do this is the one I would love to see it on
30:06 - Mike Flanagan has said that the bump to Samantha Sloyan's head was not intended! And so her reaction was genuine 😂 That definitely made him crack up and so he kept the cut
If Roderick seems a weirdly similar age to the older kids, Bruce Greenwood was a hasty replacement for the 18 years older Frank Langella, who was fired mid-production for nasty sex stuff. The framing story uses footage of Dupin that had been filmed with Langella, which is why you don't often see them in the same shot.
The sheer amount of Poe references that they stuffed into this show is amazing. Tons of dialogue, names, places, plot points, etc are referring to something, it’s so fun to watch having read his whole catalog
Hill House is one of my fav shows, ever! But I loooove Midnight Mass and House of Usher (I think the writing is sooo good and the cinematography is stunning), so I'm so happy for this!!!! 🤗
Yes, finally!! This is by far my favorite Flanagan's series, the combination of his work with Poe's work is just amazing. Looking forward to the rest of the series✨️

So many says Hill House is their favorite but was it just our first meeting and so it has a special place in our hearts? I would gladly accept an "additional watch" of all the Mike Flanagan shows but other crew members!
It’s like they’re a theater troop who just does different plays for TV.
I would pay good money to watch Erik and co catch up on Hill House and Midnight Mass speciofically

I would too. Actually, I would upgrade my Patreon membership back to the Raw Rider tier just to see the full length reactions for those.
