P.S. I noticed a few extra details while editing episode 1.
I'll discuss them with the boys before we get into episode 2. -Corey
Have you seen the movie 🎥 this series is based on its really good . A lil scary to warn ahead of time not mentioning any names 🫣❤️
We haven't
Would love to see the paranormal activity franchise or the insidious franchise
Some suggestions

Hard to believe this was Victoria’s first ever professional acting role. She is so good ❤❤❤
Yes indeed I love Victoria
The best horror drama series of all time, MIDNIGHT MASS is also fantastic.
Yes. It’s a slow burn so not many reactors watch it but it’s Mike Flanagan best work, also love House of Usher for a complete spooky tale.
Midnight Mass is Flanagan’s Magnum Opus. It’s almost perfect.
My hope is that Hill House will hook them in and they'll have to react to all the shows.
Listen to this person…they are very wise 😊
I agree wholeheartedly Midnight Mass is close to perfect, I absolutely love and adore everything about that show, it's been a few years and I still get giddy thinking about it.
This may be one of the best shows ever made. It is a master class in writing, directing and acting. Nothing is by chance, there are no throw away lines. Everything has intention and meaning. The way Mike Flanagan picks every shot and moment is meant to make you feel what he wants you to. Honestly it is 95% tension and suspense 5% horror. It is not that scary, but it is a masterpiece.
Couldn't have said it better myself. It's an outstanding show, especially the 'Two Storms' episode which feels more like a play than an episode of TV.
blake getting jumpscared by a bed has me in tears lmaooo
Try placing a cucumber behind him. 😋
@@TheBambinoitaliano OMG... 😂😂😂
“this is the definition of type casting” this show was literally victoria’s first ever project.
When the siblings woke up, the clocks show that they all woke up at exactly the same time. The clocks that read 3:03 were the siblings on the east coast, and the ones that read 12:03 were the siblings on the west coast.
So excited you are reacting to "The Haunting of Hill House", guys.
Once finished these 10 episodes please react to the remaining Mike Flanagan series, "The Haunting of Bly Manor" ( 9 eps ), "Midnight Mass" ( 7 eps ), and "The Fall of the House of Usher" ( 8 eps ).
You really can't go wrong with Mike Flanagan. He even turned the sequel to Ouija into a good movie.
Midnight Club is there too.
Midnight Club was great! I read Christopher Pike as a kid. Such a cool collaboration
Hush is there too. That movie was terrify!
Good on Corey for spotting the face. There's tons of ghosts lurking in the background of shots all throughout the show, some more easily seen than others. The show is billed as a spooky, horror but it's really an amazing family drama that's wrapped up in a ghost story.
Another thing I might add. In Hill House, if you look carefully, you can spot the ghosts. Sometimes they are obvious and sometimes they are hidden. And it's terrifying once you see them just staring.
Also I love the back and forth transitions between the characters when they were young and the troubles they face as an adult.
I didn’t know about the “hidden ghosts”!😱
Think it was Ep5 I realised this... The piano one, I think.
@@marciebulsaraorcuttthere are a lot!
aren’t there like 100 hidden ghosts throughout the series? i remember seeing a video of someone who found them all
@@drezzoisdead 🤯(That’s COOL!)
The opening narration, with "whatever walked there walked alone," is the opening to Shirley Jackson's original novel, and probably one of the most famous opening quotes in horror lit.
I'm all here for Blake's reaction 🤣
On everything
Glad yall are checking out the Mike Flanagan world in Haunting Of Hill House. Hope yall check out the rest of the world!!! It’s the suspense that make this show so terrifying.
6:39 the thought of someone reliving their trauma only for you guys to think she was doing an acting monologue 😂 LMAO
Whoops
Also, just a bit of fun trivia. The mirror in the house when Nelly is dancing in the house is the mirror from another Mike Flanagan movie called Oculus. The mirror makes an appearance in anything he makes somewhere. I’m always looking for it.
Regardless of a poll, after this you really need to watch The other two show’s in the series, “Midnight Mass & The Haunting of Bly Manor”, different stories, but same actors and all three show’s are some of the best writing you’ll ever see.😊
The dad in this movie is the boy from ET. Also child Nell is in the movie Megan. Child Luke is in WandaVision. Child Theo has been is sooo many shows too.
The kids are all such talented actors
I didn't recognize young Luke was the same kid from WandaVision. Adult Luke was in the movie The Invisible Man (2020) and he played the Scarecrow in the cancelled TV series Emerald City (a show about The Wizard of OZ).
@@arthurfields1639 The Invisible Man was such a good movie
The *younger* version of the dad is the kid from ET, not the present day dad-actor.
Oh, gods, where to begin...
Theo's actress is Mike Flanagan's wife and she appears in Hush and tons of other Flanagan projects.
Steve plays the second Daario Naharis (after the first one got recasted).
The mother is Carla Gugino, who also plays in most of Flanagan's other projects (from a big role like Verna in Usher, to a very small role like the judge in the first episode of Midnight Mass).
Shirley's actress plays Edward's adoptive mother in Twilight.
The beginning of the Mike Flanagan shows..... I might have to join Patreon for these! I loved all of his shows, but this one is a gem 💎
Still my favourite show of all times!
Blake and Cojo being swapped is messing with my head
Same
I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought that 😂
Corey, three of the Crain children woke up at exactly 3:03 am well the other woke up at 12:03 am across the country ( which would be 3:03 am ) where they were living, meaning simply they all woke up at the moment of Nellie's death.
I see. Thank you!
@@RaggedyPack slight correction, both the boys are on the West Coast while dad is in Florida and the sisters are in Boston
You glorious bastards what a great choice. One of my favourite shows for years, and my favourite "horror" anything. Nothing horror has ever come close to this when it comes to caring about the characters and getting genuinely emotional
Horror has never been a genre I enjoy, but this show is SO much more, it should have won a ton of Emmy’s but wasn’t even nominated bc, I believe, they don’t take horror seriously. It’s very deep.🖤
I fuckin love Blake's reactions. Hold on Bud and get though it. You won't be sorry. You can do it bro
Blake - We've all type casted Victoria. Prior to watching the show I have only been able to see her as Love. Now after watching this she will always be Nelle to me
This is one of the most well written produced performed directed shows ever. So excited to watch with you guys, once you have the entire picture of all the episodes it’s just outstanding
I don't know how I'm going to make it until Episode 5 and 6. This is definitely in my top 5 favorite TV shows. It's perfection.
"The Bent Neck Boy"😂 also this series is so good especially episode 5!!!
i’m so glad y’all are watching this show!! i think you’ll really enjoy how the story develops because it’s so much more than a horror/ghost show. it’s genuinely one of the most well written shows from the last couple of years. i wish i could watch it for the first time again :’)
Cant wait for their reactions on THAT scene 😏
YOU GUYS ARE FINALLY REACTING TO MY FAVORITE HORROR MEDIA AAHHHHHH
My favorite show! So glad you’re watching. The scares are just a tiny fraction of what makes this show so great. Here’s a little bribe to keep Blake watching & I may even join Patreon. Next Mike Flanagan show to watch is Midnight Mass, or Haunting of Bly Manor. Probably Bly since Love Quinn is in it too 👻
Thank you!! ❤️
We'll definitely watch all of the Mike Flanagan shows if everyone wants us to... And based on all of the comments on this video, I think everyone does! 👻 -Corey
21:16 - FUNNY THING Blake, This was her FIRST professional acting performance, EVER. Her SECOND Acting Role was in The Haunting of Bly Manor 😂…. So, if she was “type cast” it was in whatever you saw her in.
Oop- just heard you realize that 😂😂😂
Omg so happy to see you guys watch this! Never expected it. By far my favorite show, even tops my favorite film. Enjoy!
Out of curiosity, what's your favorite film? -Corey
@@RaggedyPack Everything Everywhere All At Once! If y'all haven't seen it yet, I'm sure you'd enjoy it too. The writing and directing for both are :chef's kiss:
Hiding in plain sight. The first time you see one, it’s wonderfully terrifying.❤
ETA: And then every shadow or movement in the background, you think it’s a ghost. And on this show, it probably is lol Happy hunting!
“I think he believes now!” Is the funniest thing to say about Steve’s character in episode one
Only took five minutes for Blake's hand to find his face. This is gonna be fun.
OMG, you guys are in for a ride!! I've watched this series so many times, it's so good.
This is such a fantastic show. Not only does it have good scares, but it's honestly a beautiful story about a family attempting to overcoming grief.
Well the first time I watched the series, that Neil ghost scene was super scary but now after rewatching it again, the scary image just makes me tear up and so sad about what happened to Neil. The show is scary but not its main focus, it's all about family and love. Try watching until the end you know what i mean.
Mike Flanagan is awesome at giving us some good supernatural ghost stories.
So glad you are doing this show! One of the best things I have seen on TV! 1) Whoever told you this show was not scary is lying to you. In fact, I venture to say each episode gets scarier. All of us who have seen it will be waiting for one episode in particular-sorry Blake you may pee your pants. 2) one thing that makes this show satisfying is that pretty much all questions end up being answered so hang on boys, 3) it is “inspired” by the book “The Haunting of Hill House” with some basics at least similar but a completely different story. There is a 1963 film version called “The Haunting” and a terrible 90’s remake. One of the cast members from the original film will show up in this show so that’s kinda cool. Enjoy!!! I am already looking forward to the future episodes.
Watch as this video blows up. Thx for reacting to this!!
Such a great series. It' not just any ordinary ghost story. The actors are so good!
Stay with us Blake! 😂 there’s jump scares here and there but you’ll be so invested in the family drama def by the end of ep 3 so it’ll make the scares worth it. Thanks for reacting to this guys, it’s one of my fave shows 🫶🏻
This show is phenominal, so glad you're giving it a watch. It's probablyone of my favorites of all time, its so haunting in its atmosphere and its message. If you want, you guys can watch another one by Flanagin called The Haunting if Bly Manor.
Nell will definitely pull at the heart strings 😢.
The best ghost story ever put to film. After this, you need to watch Fall of the House of Usher, Midnight Mass and Haunting of ably Manor. All by Flannigan. All amazing!
Holy cow! Never have I ever clicked so fast! This is my favorite horror series of all time. It’s the best, really.
I have been watching your content for weeks now. And I’m hooked. Aside from you guys reacting to my favorites like Scream Franchise, Final Destination and the GOT binging, I stayed too because of COJO. Lmao I am in love 😜😂
Anyway, more power to you guys. 😁
I knew you guys would recognize Daario Naharis 😆.
I think the 1st episode is a little slow but it just gets better and better from here.
Theo is the best character in my opinion 🙂
Thank you guys for giving us the chance to vote and for following through with it ❤
And don’t worry Blake you’ll still see a lot of Victoria Pedretti !
Awesome how you guys noticed the face hidden in the background. I think i remmeber there being around 30 hidden throughout the whole story in various places, which jjst afds another layer of fun to watching!
Great reaction! I won’t pretend it’s not scary, this show terrified me the first time, but if Blake can continue, it’s so worth it, it’s so much more than a horror show. It’s a beautiful story about grief and pain and family.
Not sure how far in advance you guys will be watching as you’re filming but in episode 6 there’s a series of 1 take shots that are insane. The show opens with I think like a 14 minute one take shot that is so impressively filmed.
I'm constantly surprised and pleased by the amount of people that haven't seen this fantastic show yet. Surprised because its so good and been out for a while and pleased because i keep getting to enjoy all these great reactions to this masterpiece. Enjoy!! You're in for a wild ride!!
It's so cool that you guys are checking out this series. It's definitely worth checking out.
I love Mike Flanagan's work. I just finished watching House of Usher last month and it was really AWESOME.
I'd say Hill House and Midnight Mass are my 2 favorite miniseries of his, though, they're all so spectacular!
Mike Flanagan hides ghosts throughout the series. It's like the creepiest game of where's Waldo finding all the background ghosts.
my favorite horror mystery shows HAVE to be this, yellowjackets, and twin peaks. can’t wait to see y’all react to the rest of this show
GUYS…
When you’re done with this series, you really should consider:
BATES MOTEL
It’s absolute GENIUS… Vera Farmiga and Freddie Highmore both are FANTASTIC (Honestly, Freddie Highmore as young Norman Bates should win EVERY award in existence!)
It’s surprisingly fast paced, and obviously FULL OF PSYCHOTIC SURPRISES.🤯
Please watch Penny Dreadful after you've watched these Flanagan shows. In Penny Dreadful, you'll have mood and characters that would have likely inspired Flanagan's work. It's suspensful, and beautiful!
I rewatch this show regularly it’s so good from the acting the story and how it’s shot so many reasons I love it.
Thank you for making the sacrifice for us Blake 🙏🏻😂 you’ll be glad you made it thru by the end!
Running over to Patreon for this! 😱
Blake secretly loves this show 😂👍🏾
You guys! Holy shit I cannot believe you haven't seen this! But I'm also super super excited that we get to watch you react, especially so long after it was hyped up so much. We get fresh eyes. And personally I'll watch anybody react to Mike Flanagan, his stuff is just that good. So excited for this.
Such a powerful, heartbreaking, and, yes, slightly scary series. You guys are going to love it.
Guys, just a heads up.
There are between 6 to 10 hidden ghosts in each episodes for you to find so keep your eyes peeled.
This is an absolutely incredible show, the scares are brilliantly done and the story is beautiful! Excited to see these reactions! Also, the kida names are Steve, Shirley, Theo, Luke and Nell!
I subscribed to watch you go through this mindblowing journey. Mindblowing when it comes to acting, writing, cinematography, sounddesign, transitions ... You guys are in for a ride! I can't wait. I have watched so many reactions to this, It doesn't get boring and I really like your thoughts on the episode. I'm always happy when UA-camrs discover this series and react to it ♥ This show just keeps getting better and better. Thanks for sharing your reactions with us!
this is the best tv show ever! - sorry for the english, brazilian here - the channel is really good, btw
Thank you! Your english is fantastic!
One of my favorite shows of all time! 👻
Excited to watch your reactions to Hill House and the other Mike Flanagan shows.
I predict Blake covering his eyes alot in these reactions. 🙈😂
I only have one statement to make. Blake is going to love this 😂😂😂
Something that really impressed me with this series is they have a big main cast, and each character is played by 2 different actors for them and now, but we as an audience are never confused with who's who and what's what. Kudos to the actors and the editor.
I know people have mentioned the "where's wally" with the background ghosts in this show, but make sure you don't spend all your time trying to find them. You'll miss everything that actually happens in this show and they add absolutely nothing to the plot. They're literally there as easter eggs.
I never realized these are the same actors from "Fall of House of Usher." You should definitely watch that next!
This show is an absolute masterpiece. The first episode is kinda a slow burn, hard to catch all the character names, but it really hits its stride by episode 3, and 5, 6, 8, and 10 are just utterly jaw-dropping. Can’t wait for you guys to take this journey! FYI, the first 5 episodes are centered around each of the 5 kids, in descending order of age (Steve, Shirley, Theo, Luke, then Nell), although you get a lot of info about the others along the way.
So glad you're on the "Hill House" train. WOOT WOOT!! Blake, if you don't watch this show, I'll never speak to you again!!
LMAO Funny as we don't speak at all...I'm just sayin'...YOU GOTTA WATCH. You'll kick yourself if you don't watch this masterpiece. No joke, it's AMAZING.
Hi guys, I'm new here and this show is one of my favorites. When this show ends Blake will understand why some people say that this show is not scary, because it is something more, deeper, complex.
Great reaction guys.
Greetings from Chile.
Don't give up on it, Blake! It's such a good show and the story is so great.
Mike Flanagan knows how to create an atmosphere.
I also suggest his movies. Gerald's Game is a good one.
The Haunting of Hill House is definitely scary time to time, if you get scared about ghosts related shit (I know I do!). But it’s also a very well written and acted family drama, I’m so happy you guys started to watch it! Remember to also check Mike Flanagans other series, like: The Haunting of Bly Manor, Midnight Mass and The Fall of the House of Usher.
For some reason I really appreciated Cojo calling the ladies a.holes instead of the b-word 👍
The series is based on a 1959 gothic novel of the same name btw. I know lots of people have already commented you should watch the other Flanagan series, so I'm here to recommend the movie adaptation of Stephen King's "Gerald's Game", which is also directed by Flanagan and involves the same actors as Hill House.
This remarkable show can be considered part of an anthology along with "The Haunting of Bly Manor" as well as "The Fall of the House of Usher", all worthy of your attention. Keep up the good work fellas you're much appreciated.
you’ll learn the character’s names better as the show progresses. it was confusing for me too at first especially with the back and forth between the past/present but once you start watching more the characters and the storylines get so much better.
Corey without a Bennie or hat is a rare gem. Love the hair. Glad you got got into this one
Not even a spoiler anymore but there’s definitely ghosts in the background. Keep an eye out for that
Hi guys, be on the lookout for statues that change direction (in the mansion), and as Corey, who seems to be the most observant of you, saw the face, you'll see the moving statues ;-)
*GASP* yeeessss! I can't remember if I suggested this one or not but if I didn't, it was an oversight! Haunting of Hill House is my third favorite tv show after Doctor Who and Sense8. I've watched it 4 or 5 times and I've seen a ton of reactions for it. It's literally one of the best written shows I've ever seen.... it's "Heartfelt Horror"... its horror but BETTER. Its very story and character driven and is heavily an emotional family drama just set in a horror setting. It uses tension and tragic circumstances to create its creepy atmosphere rather than cheap jumpscares. And its an emotional journey. You'll get all the feels with this one! It is such a fantastic show with so many layers and small touches that make re-watching the show still so enjoyable
this series is such a great watch! the story, dialogue, editing are all just fantastic. the layers the keep adding with every episode just builds and builds until thew final 2 eps and i just loved the journey and the ending. cant wait to see yalls reaction to it all!
Living for Blake's reactions. lol You guys rock. Once this series is over, just for a break, you should review the 1988 movie Elvira, Mistress of the Dark.
Hope ye enjoy it. I found this series quite emotional, I cried at times from it, brilliantly done
So excited to see you guys watching this series! Mike Flanagan has an amazing mind! Please check out the other shows: Haunting of Bly Manor, Midnight Mass, & the most recent Fall of House of Usher! I’m sure someone else already said this but the siblings represent the 5 stages of grief! Steve is denial, Shirley is anger, Theo is bargaining, Luke is depression, & nell is acceptance!
The actor who plays Steve is in GoT. Hope you guys enjoy this show and are willing to watch more. The Haunting of Bly Manor should be next if you want to go in order of release. Hill House, Bly Manor, Midnight Mass, Midnight Club, House of Usher.
5:02 OMG, Igli! All my rewatches and I never noticed that the statue is missing in that shot!! You are not crazy, there was a statue. Makes since... the statues are a reference to the Weeping Angels on Doctor Who... you'll see later.
I've seen this show several times and I'm always finding something new.
Actually it’s just because it’s looking down the hallway the other way. The statues didn’t disappear just a convincing camera switch
Please don't let Blake bail on this. We need the entertainment he's gonna bring throughout the rest of the series lol
Hey, beanieless Corey was something I had been wanting to see for a long time. Finally! That hair rocks, my dude!
As for the show, keep an eye open for the background shots all the time. You might get a little surprise every now and then.
And as a suggestion for the next wednesday show, you should definitely watch The Fall of the House of Usher. It's Mike Flanagan's second masterpiece after Hill House. Hill House is to The Conjuring as House of Usher is to Scream. I'm sure you're all gonna love it.
Blake is here to stay just like my beanies -Corey
You guys really keep coming out with the hitters. Loving all the series you guys are reacting too.
I think maybe someone would say this show isn't scary because it's not scary to scare you, it's scary to tell a story, and once you understand what that story is, the scary makes sense.
2. Hauntin on Bly Manor
3. Midnight Mass
4. Midnight Club
5. The fall of the house of Usher
*Easily* one of the 3 best limited series I have ever seen. This show was absolutely phenomenal.
I'm so excited to see you guys reacting to this show. HoHH has an amazing story line so in order to understand what's going on, you need to pay close attention to conversations. To Blake, I promise, this show is much lighter on jump scares than most shows of this genre, so I hope you don't get scared off watching it cuz you're an integral part of the Raggedy crew and it wouldn't be the same without you.
I can't wait to see how you all progress through this show. It's so worth the watch!
Oh, and the next show in the series, The Haunting of Bly Manor, stars Victoria Pedretti along with several other members of the Hill House cast.
So far, this is the best horror tv series ever made. The story, the acting, the intense horror, the twist. Simply amazing! Also, look for hidden ghosts when they’re inside hill house. I also like the one shot scene - that was one of the longest one shot scene and they did amazing! The transitions, the acting. Pay attention to details like the background per episode. AMAZING!
You should finish this entire series. You’ll be amazed. Thank god Blake is here! His reaction is so cute and funny. Well, they all are (recently watched their reactions of Final Destination).
3 o’clock is also the start of the witching hour. 3am-4am is the time when they say the vail to our world and the paranormal world is thinnest.
The younger version of the father is played by Henry Thomas, the little boy from ET.
Henry also played a teenaged Norman Bates in the 1990 tv film "Psycho IV: The Beginning".
Did y'all see the Easter Egg for E.T.? In the tree house when Luke was coloring...next to Luke on the floor is an E.T. lunch box.
YESS so excited for yall to get into this series. Not only is it scary, but it's quite sad and emotional. I hope you enjoy the ride.
