Thank you!! I tried your recipe, and the Whanau and I were blown away. This recipe is so easily marae worthy and I totally recommend this recipe to anyone reading 😊
Watching this at 00:45 S.A. time and salivating 😂. My late dad worked for a very large bread and cake company so we always had cake in the house, freshest unsliced bread and rolls when rolls were still considered a luxury 🙈. I can still eat cakes or biscuits any time of the day. I don't have an oven now hence me looking for steamed puddings. Raining cats and dogs in the Western Cape with lotta floods so the cravings are real. Thanks for your very pleasant and down to earth presentation🌹. I'll be trying this soon as. Now to clear my mind and get some sleep.
Love your sense of humor. I still do it the way you explained and flour the cloth before adding the pudding, this gives it a nice skin. I also use sultana and raisins optional, this helps keep the pudding nice and moist for slicing cold with butter for cuppa tea. I also use bread bags inside out in large fruit tins, marae style. Thanks for sharing.
Put golden syrip at the bottom of the can first then pour the mixture on top without the plastic bag, when its finished cooking turn up the can and the golden syrip will be oozing over the steamed pudding, yummy.
Oh my god I just needa come back and say.. I tried this recipe yesterday. My first ever steam pudding. And ughh it was the best one I've ever tasted and my partner absolutely loved it too!!! Thank yous so much!! 👌🏽🤤💙💙
Finally found an easy-to-follow steam pudding. Now I know why some puddings are bitter to long in the pot. Forever grateful. Thank you and Merry Christmas and joyous New Year
That's awesome my dad use to make our steam pudding and he would put it in the old flour bag witch is how it came from the shop back in the days then put it in the pot .Iv always wanted to bake a steam pudding thanks to this vid i can give this a go

You have made this so simplified and less mess,no rubbing in the butter, cool pot in sink of water, quicker cooking time, love it thank you for sharing your knowledge whaea 💕💯🫶
Just watched your video today and just finished making a batch, and "OMG" your recipe is soooooo "AMAZING" they were crunchy and very soft and fluffy inside and they had the perfect amount of sweetness. Awww I've been looking for a recipe for ages, you have no idea and your one is exactly what I was hoping to find. Thanks so much for sharing ur secret, god bless you 🙏☺️
Kia Ora whanau. Just letting you know that i finally made this recipe and it didn’t disappoint. Followed it to the letter and my first thought was ‘ohhhh no, i guess I’m now the pudding guy’ lol. Thanks again and looking forward to other recipe’s. ❤️

Kia ora Whaea, Ive gone to UA-cam to look for your clip on the sponge you made in a roasting dish that my daughter showed me on the Facebook but I can't find it on UA-cam, obviously I'm not as smart as the phone, would love the recipe. Nga mihinui kia koe e te Whaea.
Kia ora, thank you for sharing… I actually made it the other week , in my hangi pot , and used oven bags to cook the pudding 40 mins done and served …. No they didn’t wait for it to cool… either… it was gone that nite …. Can you share STEAK N Mushroom plz….
I love your necklace you wear! Does it have a special meaning to you? Just a favorite? That pudding looked amazing. I wonder how it would be cooked in glass canning jars in a bag? I may try that!
Thank you Karen! Yes, its one of my favourites and Im unsure about glass jars, just wouldn't want it to crack but Ive seen them cooked in oven bags they just take a funny shape 😊
This sounds great! The burnt sugar must give the pudding a delicious flavor. How would it be to add a few raisins to the mixture or would that be a sacrilege?
Hi Mumma! I’m after quick advice. Could you please tell me if you can use oven bags on a real hangi? I know you could, but will it still have that hangi taste… I’m just wondering if it’s worth it or not? Xx thanks

Will the mixture stick to the tin. Do you prep the walls of the can, and will it fall easily from the tin. cheers
