this is the best puligi recipe ive seen on youtube, detailed instructions. the only thing i do different is i add a can of coconut cream (Kara...lol) instead of evaporated milk. thankyou for the video.
Thank you so much and Kara coconut cream is my favourite! Not just because of the name lol. Yes, replacing evaporated milk with coconut cream is delicious, I think you can’t go wrong addi g coconut cream to anything lol
This was so delicious and unbelievably easy to make!! I'm pregnant and all I've been craving are Samoa desserts. Mum is slow at sending me her recipes so I usually just surf the net for them. So happy I found your recipe and gave it a go. Thank you!!
Love this recipe! So straightforward and simple steps to achieve such a delightful dessert. I do want to say that when I baked mine in a water bath, I baked it for 1hr 45mins to 2hrs because when I baked it for an hour the first time, I had a raw middle, and even though I put it back in for another hour I was able to save some parts of the puligi, but not all. Anyways, thank you so much for sharing your recipe, it’s definitely a heart warming meal in my family on Sunday evenings after a big toonai during quarantine ☺️🙏
Thank you for this video Kara, my little grand daughter is part Samoan, I made your recipe with her today ...was spongy soft like yours, spiced just right and melt in your mouth from the first bite. The custard took your recipe to another level :) , it made us want to Siva :).
Excellent recipe. Have never managed to make steamed pudding successfully. But your recipe has encouraged me to give it another go. Thanks for sharing.
Love this video , just wholesome good and now I know you can use vanilla pudding too and not just an old fashioned milk and cornstarch . Thanks for loading and sharing❤
By stirring from the beginning you are stopping the sugar from caramelising. Only needs to be stirred once it's on it's way. Cuts down on cooking time.
Thank you for this recipe. I have family members that do know how to make these but they don’t want to share their recipes ☹️ a million thanks to you for sharing us your recipes 🙏 definitely going to try it out and I’ll let you know how it goes. God bless you 🙏
My next project 😋 thank you for taking the time to make this video. We are stationed overseas and I miss home so much, I started making my own Samoan desserts since my mom isn’t around lol much alofas
Christmas greetings from Auckland NZ, I made my first steam pudding yesterday, it came out perfect...yummy delicious...thankyou so much, I did add sultanas to mixture ❤️❤️❤️❤️ have a Safe blessed Christmas 🎄🇳🇿❤️
Thank you! I live in the States so it’s hard to find custard but I can find vanilla cook & serve jello here in almost every grocery store and it’s the best substitute for custard😁
Hi! No, you don’t need to put water at the bottom of the oven, just make sure to cover the top of your cake pan completely with tin foil, making a fine shape so it has room to steam☺️

I used Oven bag instead of the paper, I love your recipe, thank you very much.
@@Karaslivingspace07 I had no baking paper only oven bag. I used the large oven bag and your recipe turned out perfect ,so yummy, thank you.
Hello ..im just checking if its ok to use white cloth or calico instead of paper??
Just made it mean az 💪🏿💯👍🏿✌🏿
So glad you enjoyed this!
Can I add a can of coconut instead of milk
We don’t have Edmonds Custard powder in Australia, it’s Lions Custard powder or Birds if you buy the UK imported custard powder 😉👍🏽 🇦🇺
youre the bomb! i love puteni and this by far the best! thank you and God bless you!
You’re so welcome! Thank you for the kind words, God bless you too❤️
Hi instead of steaming it can I bake it, n how long if I do please?
👏👏👏👏👏👏🌺
Can I use brown sugar?
Amazing ❤what is that jello and where do you get it?
Thank you! I live in the States so it’s hard to find custard but I can find vanilla cook & serve jello here in almost every grocery store and it’s the best substitute for custard😁
I straight use custard
No need for Jelly it's why it's too thick
It's optional preferential..
Do you preheat oven if your baking?
Yes, always preheat the oven if I’m baking 😊
Hellow dear do i need to put water at the bottom og the oven when baking?

@Karaslivingspace07 thank you so much 😊
You’re welcome! I meant to type dome shape, not fine shape 😁
For the Fijian purini can you bake in the oven ?
What kind of paper is that & where can one get it from please?
I was about to say why didn’t you just put in a pan lol 😂 just seems like too much the steamer style. But thank you for the recipe ❤
This is not a Puligi without Coconut milk but its a different idea 🙂
