They will come, whether they will come before AI has done massive damage is what the question is. Laws can be decades behind new technology. I'm surprised AI images were rendered non copyrightable so quickly.
I agree that it should have limits but this whole stigma against AI is seriously over blown. Just because AI can take over some jobs dosent mean it's inherently bad.

I think people are putting their trust into AI a little too much. What happens if the AI messes up an order? Humans are way more reliable. Plus, people need to work at places like wendy's if they don't have other places to work at. This isn't a very good idea.
Imagine going to Wendy's and asking for something insane and then it rings it up for you and all the staff panic because that wasn't on the menu.

Tbh, as someone who worked at wendy's I don't think the AI would really take anyones job, bc if we didn't need someone on the drive thru, orders would get done so much quicker. So anyone who was working drive thru would just be on a different station. As much as I don't like AI, it would make rush hours way less sucky if we had more than just 1 person making sandwiches.

I've heard that drive throughs tend to mess up orders constantly. People have to test it out & hope it messes up more.

giving drive through ordering ai feels like a move that is dystopian and the social aspect of being able to talk to a person and maybe crack a joke with them instead is removed making some people feel less welcomed without that human interaction while yes speeding up the process if only slightly but it isn't the right way to go

This technology has existed for years. The problem is that big corporations are like oH yEaH, let's just use computers, replace people and their jobs and make more MONEEEEY!!! 🤑💀
The big issue I have is that AI can still make mistakes and lacks the reasoning capabilities that people can have.
For example, I’ve played video games in which the AI almost always made reckless, impulsive, and eventually predictable decisions, usually at their detriment. They never had the strategic abilities.

Idk if you ever worked in a fast food place, but this likely isn't replacing anyone. In the industry everyone is expected to do everything. There is no one person taking orders. I would have loved something like this when I worked in that environment. It just makes it easier for the employees to make orders
