Being funny while genuinely interviewing/ conversing with someone whose lifestyle or occupation is unfamiliar to you is a skill. Normal doesn’t have that skill.
Then maybe Yang shouldn’t have CHOSEN to go on his podcast if he didn’t know Normand’s interview/comedic style. Yang didn’t do himself any favors here… dude looked like an uncomfortable hard ass the entire time
