0:01 Remove the caps from the rear
0:05 Heat the headlight to soften the sealing
0:11 We put the headlight in a carton box and heat it
0:15 1600 Watt heatgun for 16 minutes
0:23 Remove the lens clips and rubber
0:44 Seperate the lens from the housing using a flat screw driver
1:14 Remove the H7 halogen bulb cap
1:20 break off the cap channel with a plier
1:28 Place the small rubber washer over the projector shaft
1:33 Insert the Bi-xenon solenoid wires through the cap shaft and insert the projector through the fitting
1:43 Place the H7 adapter ring and secure the projector nut
1:59 Don't tighten it fully yet, you might want to do some final rotational adjustment when the headlights are mounted on the car
2:04 Mount the bulb holder
2:20 Click the shroud centric ring inside the shroud (this shroud has been modified for fitment)
2:23 Apply a few drops of glue to be sure the shroud will stay on
2:50 Remove all finger prints using a fine cloth
3:00 If you want, apply some butyl to make sure the headlight will be free of moisture
3:20 Press the lens on the housing and bake it again
3:48 Now that the sealant is soft, press the lens on the housing using pliers and secure the lens by placing the metal clips
4:17 Place the solenoid plug back on the wires
4:25 Connect the H7 high beam splitter for the solenoid to function together with the H7 halogen high beam
4:49 Drill a 20-22mm hole in the bulb cap to guide the wires through
5:16 The wires will be connected to the ballast and H7 low beam plug. Because the Audi A4 B7 has Canbus, this is the only wiring setup that can be used
5:22 Insert the bulb in the projector and secure it with the clip
5:48 Connect the 12V ballast wires correctly, red to the yellow cable (+ positive) and black to brown (- negative)
6:07 Click the cap back on, you are ready to mount the headlight to the car and enjoy a luxurious Bi-xenon projector headlight! :-)

𝗢𝘂𝗿 𝗦𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆:
Retrofitting refers to the addition of new technology or features to older systems. These days there are a lot of people who put a simple plug & play xenon kit in their halogen headlight housing in an attempt to improve night vision and looks of their vehicle. In fact they don’t realize that their headlight beams are often worse than before. Night vision achieves relatively little improvement on night vision because of a poor beam pattern, which increases the blinding of other road users. This is because their headlight housings are designed for halogen and not xenon.
A true Bi-Xenon projector update is now possible for your car. Such an upgrade will significantly improve your light output from 700-2100 lumens to 2800 and 3500 lumens, without blinding other traffic with glare from your headlight. Upgrade your headlight OEM style!
The latest high power Led bulbs will upgrade both the exterior and interior lighting system of your car. Led lighting is becoming more and more popular in the automotive market for obvious reasons. They have longer lifetime, use less energy and improve safety with their fast response time.
Do you have any questions? Do not hesitate to contact us, we are happy to help you out!
Good luck with your retrofit!
These products are not ECE-approved and must not be used on public roads in any exterior application. Use on public roads will invalidate both the operating license and insurance coverage.
Anyone else have that problem where you can't seem to get comfortable sitting on the toilet? Nice video btw
:D
Love the heat gun box hack.
this is very satisfying to watch
Thanks :)
Me gusta tu video haces un exelente trabajo bien ilustrado y sin hablar...te felicito Dios te bendiga.
¡Muchas gracias!
Brilliant many thanks Sir 😊👍
Was about to purchase a set for my gti but sadly or luckily someone just sold me a pair of bi xenon lights for £100 but thank you all the same for taking the time to reply 😊
+Retrofitlab Thanks again 😊
Nice HTC when phones phones :)
😎🔥
Nice and clean retrofit. Those shrouds look so OEM
U r doing a great job. It's not easy at all to be done at home.
Thanks a million on this video. Great, straight to the point, and no extra bs.
meow.
This is the most brilliant heating method I've ever seen!
I never had the chance to remove my headlight cover because my microwave oven is too small haha.
Btw. can you also use a hair dryer to heat it up? Is it sufficient enough?
Thanks for answering me Retrofitlab
So up till now i understood that the solenoid or the black and red wires are responsible for making the light switch from low to high beam mode.
So it means that when I will have these lenses installed on my car's headlight I would only have to connect the solenoid to the lens in order to make it high and low beam lens
This vid was exactly what I was looking for. Although some things happened so fast I barely knew what you were doing, but still, thanks.
REally? Didn't know that, I'll check. thanks-
Thank you for making this video because I just saw what I need to do to my new projector lamps. The left one is not rotated level with the right one so I need to take the bulb out and look inside to see how off it is. Going crazy try to found out how I can do it.
Using this retrofit how do you regulate the height of the beam if you install this in a halogen headlight?
The height can be adjusted via the original adjustment screws on the headlight.
@@Retrofitlab But not with the one next to the headlight switch, right?
@@NocturneOP55N1 Yes the electrical adjuster can still be used! :)
for an 11 year old product dont you think this setup should cost around 100euro at least .. i went to the page and its 222 euro for this retrofit ? i can buy used bixenon headlights with jacks included and just find thw wires whixh one does what and rewire... for 200eu
Hi there,
I am not quite sure what you mean. The parts that are used in this retrofit kit did not change in price. You are of course free to get a used bi-xenon set of headlights but they will have the same old projectors inside them that will probably not last long. This kit inlcudes all the parts you need and can be installed using this video.
Wow you make it look really simple. .looks SICK
God job !! I have a question. Projectors installed by you is only for UK left-driven cars ? because left-driven cars headlights must have light beam oriented to left for lighten pedestrians on left side of road. A rest of Europe have a right-driven roads
Is this mod worth it? Big reflector halogen vs small lens hid. Bright view in night and secure on road or fancy hid look🧐
Big improvement, HID has much more output. Also the because of the cut-off you don't blind oncoming traffic. So definitely a upgrade performance wise, not only 'fancy HID look'. Chech our other video's or website for more info :-). www.retrofitlab.com
@@Retrofitlab ok, thanks. We are opinion to buy used audi with hid or halogen lights and we want to know what option is brighter on dark time. We did a test on car with hid light and was a bad results, lights wasn't new
@@KalvisCh Ah yes, in OEM HID headlights, the original projector can be burned on the inside, there is a reflective layer on the inside of the projector that gets damaged by UV and heat, and light output decreases (sometimes drastically) also bulbs can be old and worn. This can result in bad light output, even lower than halogen. There are also options to replace the original HID projector with a new one and improve/repair the light so that it is as new (or even better). But generally HID has more output than halogen.
Thank you ! :) Have a wonderful day !
If all headlights were this easy to open. Curse the day PermaSeal was created.
the way you hook it up there results in low beam over Xenon, but you make a pass-through with the Hi-beam original light in order to not only activate the Hi-Beam solenoid switch in the Xenon : that way, when you Switch on Hi-beam, both the original Hi-beam Reflector Hallogen lights up AND the Xenon retrofit goes into Hi-Beam position. The result is in Hi-beam, you're really throwing 2 Bulbs (one Xenon, one original Hallogen) into Hi-beam ?
Yes, low beam xenon/HID and high beam xenon/HID and because we use high beam splitters also high beam from the original halogen high beam bulb. So yes, high beam from xenon and halogen (or LED for example for an improved output).
so a normal blow drier will be enough to heat up the lights to break the seal?
Retrofitlab I definitely will be using this technique to do my retrofit this way
+Retrofitlab headlight washer not required?
You show every detail of the retrofit, and that's great...But where's the before & after and also the final output?
Unfortunately we don't have it added to this video. But because we used the Mini H1, we can always send some examples when you contact us to show you what te output is :-)
Can you please share what the output is?
@@jso726, please sent us an email: info@retrofitlab.com or contact us by Facebook :)
Is it the same with Golf IV headlights? Is it possible to install the new projectors without cutting or grinding the oem reflectors? Maybe you could post a video on how to work that out on a Golf IV? Thanks!
It's like adding Terminator eyes
Did you fully remove the old rubber sealant before inserting the new one or you just continued putting the new one?
In this case the headlight is sealed with butyl, which can be reheated and reused to seal the headlight.
Well, my headlight also uses bytul rubber but I can’t find any one to buy, Can I mix the bytul with other sealants or the best thing is to remove all the bytul and use completely new sealant?
@@TheGorgievski just add some headlight butyl :-) www.retrofitlab.com/en/accessories/butyl-rubber-sealant.html
Could you guys make a quick video of these installed on the car just showing the low beams then switching to high beams??. Do the projects do both low and high beam?
+Retrofitlab is there specific kit that we need for our audi? or are they just the mini h1 kit you guys sell and does any bezel fit around the projected?
***** okay so its i little difficult to understand all the options. Here's what i have. is that everything i need. thanks
Ballasts:Aharon 35 Watt Speedstart
Version:Right hand traffic (European, US)(i live in Canada Ontario)
Shrouds:Iris
Color temperature:6000K
Position light:No thanks ( not sure what this is)
Wire harness:H7 splitter car
one of the most perfect videos i've seen.thank you!!!!
Awesome job! My headlight are burnt from the factory fit HIDs on the inside of the lenses, I might join St attempt to try this as new headlights are over £360 + vat each Wah!
may I ask what that roll of sealer/tape it was u used to seal the lens back on to the housing... this method is very interesting and may have to attempt this
So there is an adapter ring for every bulb type? The mini h1 kit offers the adapter type choice upon Order? Or? What's the deal? I will try this on an xterra 2009 with 9007 OEM bulb.. great videos
***** Thanks for your reply, I have yet another inquiry, do you have a solution to older cars, where the front glass of the headlight is not "clear", how to retrofit a projector into such Headlights? Examples '99 AE112 corolla , 88' MX73 cressida

that box u made... any special consideration when u make that box?
thanks man for the reply! will take note of that:)
Amazing idea and may have to try this with my golf gti mk5 lights. Well done retrofit you sure know your stuff 👍
I wish you guys were in my country
Hello, friend!
It is normal this projector shake when the vehicle is moving even in places plans?
I'm using rubbers and are properly tight, eatou xomeçando to suspect that the vibration comes from the lighthouse baffle, already took a case like this? Type it vibrates a little tried to shoot and the cell captures not.
+Retrofitlab Really the problem is the lighthouse, confirmed yesterday. Thanks for attention. People here always ask where the best place to buy projectors always indicate your website.
how about older cars, like the audi 80?Lens headlamps are extremly hard to find and in high demand
this is the best tutorial
Thank you! :)
This is amazing work. Where did you buy those projectors?

What type of adhesive do we put the lense back on with ?
What model of this projector that works in the low beam that seems to be the same as the Tiguan
And what is the 2nd wire that connects in parallel with high beam?
And also the 2 wire on the projector installed
what kind of glue should I use for shrouds?
what kind of moisture sealant should I use?
can I use oven to heat the headlight?
what should I do with instrument cluster warning light for burned high beam bulb?
*****
4. Replace your burned bulb :)
connector of the high beam bulb should be connected to the connector of the electro-magnet actuated iris so I predict the burned high beam light warning light on the instrument cluster will go on.
*****
yea I was affraid it will be this way? I don't like halogen yellowish light to interffere with white xenon light - this way everyone will know this is not OEM lights.
I was thinking to connect high beam connector to projector iris and connect position light connector to H7 led light which will be placed on the position of current high beam light.
This will give me exact OEM look.
I was thinking of disabling instrument cluster warning light by coding of instrument cluster control module...
Ah. So If I understand correctly : the way you hook it up there results in low beam over Xenon, but you make a pass-through with the Hi-beam original light in order to not only activate the Hi-Beam solenoid switch in the Xenon : that way, when you Switch on Hi-beam, both the original Hi-beam Reflector Hallogen lights up AND the Xenon retrofit goes into Hi-Beam position. The result is in Hi-beam, you're really throwing 2 Bulbs (one Xenon, one original Hallogen) into Hi-beam ?
Is there a solution that would be allowed in Europe (Germany to be more specific)?
It looks really awesome and I would love to install it on my A4.
Headlights are tested/approved as a complete part, combined with the internals (projectors). OEM/original projectors also don't have an e-mark/ ECE approval because they are simply part of the complete headlight that is approved. And making any changes to the internal parts which are not made to replace*, is not allowed (at least not in the EU).
That’s why we need to mention it on the product page. So despite the light output and pattern is better than new and more safe, replacing the projector is technically not allowed.
Regulations differ between countries and between vehicle types. They also change regularly. Buyer is ultimately responsible for checking and deciding if a part is legal for the intended use by the buyer.
*Except for the bulbs / ballast, those parts are 'designed' to be replaceable and do have an E-mark / ECE approval.
Don't you have to align your lights properly before asembling them completely? And if yes, how is it done?
My headlight went out and I ordered new bulbs. But I don't know how to get the wire on it. Do I need more pieces?
Awesome job! Does the heating part for taking off the lens works also on A6 C6 headlight. I have heard that there is some different sealent used and its not going to melt?
Why couldnt you use a H7 bulb like the original setup? Or does the B7 have H1 instead of H7 for the dipped beam?
Hello there. Can we turn on the valeo brand headlights by heating this way?
what is the stuff u apply to the projector before put the shrouds on?where can i get it from?
You... Are.... God!
Are these headlights street legal? I mean - without washers and automatic beam adjustment?
Hi, what is the name of the black tape userd to stick the lens back in the lighthouse?
No problem man...keep up the great work.
Wasn’t very clear considering some parts where fast forward. Great job though, may I suggest adding previews showing the differences before and after this process
Good feedback :) Thanks!
at 3:45 what sealant/rubber did you use ?
Headlight butyl; retrofitlab.com/products/butyl-rubber-sealant
Can you show how can we make Halogen to Xenon headlights for Audi A6 C6 4F2
You made it look so easy 👊💪🤣
Very good video!! But what about CanBus? Appears Bulb Error?
What are those wires that are connected to the retrofit? What do i connect them to? I have seen any videos talking about them.
***** if i only want to use these for low beam i need not worry about it?
***** what does it connect to exactly?
If I want to connect high beams only to the projector solenoid (I don't want to use standard halogen high beam bulb anymore - only bixenon) do I need to use bulb error canceller on "high beam->solenoid" wire? This concerns car with canbus.
Thank you for answer. I want to save the bixenon look, so no halogen bulb needed for me :) Will do further research on your hid kit offer.
Hi .. your video is very interesting! The method you use to unstick the glass is very ingenious, congratulations! A question I wanted to ask you: where can I find only glass? Thank you, bye.
I want to know do u have to sand down the housing? Is the thread shaft in the back of the projector long enough for both the nut, metal washer and the hid bulb holder? I have a Audi a4 b7 halogen reflector housing
Nice job! Looks OEM with the shroud you chose.
Шикарно! 🍓
what are the red and black wire connected to the projector lens do?
thanks
How do you adjust the aim and level of the headlights?
you make this look easy... i try on my car.. thanks for the video
Hi
I am very interested in buying these bi-xenon projector lens but you fitted these lens in driving lights not in high beam lights if u know what I mean.
My question is that how will these will the lens will go to high beam when you have fitted them them in low beam side of headlight
great job.
what temperature you're using to ,,BAKE"?
Thanks
good job,i need to now about bulbs, which is the best color temperature 4300k 5000k 6000k.
Excellent work trully impressed!
super silent i like it lol
By the way excellent work, you make it look easy!!!
Hello,
This is a good tutorial and I'm grateful but there's something I'm confused about. At the end, you take the connector to the original filament bulb (is that a H7 connector?) and you patch it into the HID's. I assume the point of this is to avoid having numerous wires coming out the back of your headlight.
How do you work that out? My headlight is very similar to this (it's a VW) so it would be a massive help if you could explain how you worked this out. Otherwise I have loads of wires coming out the back, the wiring harness going in, plus the bulbs :(
If I could avoid having the wiring harness going in so all I have to plug in is the bulbs, that would be amazing. Thanks.
hi if you do this in a oven how many minutes does it need to stay and what temperature?thank you
thank you
Is there a video on how to build an oven like yours??
+Gordo Films LOL dude, just take a box and insert 4 smaller ones inside and punch a hole on side.
If you cant make that dont even try to self instal lamps
Was there a heat problem with the new Bi xenon projector headlight?
***** Thank you! Nice video btw.
What model are the shrouts you are using in this video?
hello, can yo pass the link whwer you have boight the bulb light? thx
www.retrofitlab.com :-)
I don't see the kit on your website anymore ! How can I get it ??
at 4:30 where i can fiudn that cable?? its on the set or allready in the headlights????? (the one with the white plastic at the end)
***** ty a lot
HI there guys have you done any Nissan altima 2007-2009 sedan looks like there no much room to fit the shrouds
could you do this on a pontiac sunfire 2005 ???, or what model of xenon projectors you recommend me to the sunfire ? please :D ; nice video
+Retrofitlab thank you very much , I will do this on my sunfire , because the car doesn't have good ilumination , nice video ,have a nice day
Can I ask what the two wires are coming from the lens?. thanks
Nyc n clean work done !
hello. i have a Audi A4 B7. Have you a complete Set for this?
How long is this lens length and width
Does the iris shroud require any trimming to fit into the b7 headlight housing? Is there any modifications required with VAG COM to enable the full functionality or is it ready to go from install only? THANKS !
great! Thanks for sharing.
Great job! You make it look so simple...
Can you give an advice how to open Jetta 2012 headlights? As i understand you cannot 'bake' them, as the sealant used from factory is very strong. Some people cut them...but i dont want to use that method. Thanks!
Is this on Astra H possible too?
I'm trying to install an LED strip in my headlights, planning to go for the same approach but using the oven. So, what temperature do I set my oven at? And is it possible that the heat will melt some of the plastic or wires of the LED that I'm going to install..? I'm gonna go check out the specs of my LED strips tho.
***** Thanks a lot xD I also made sure that the max temperature for my LED strips is 110 degrees Celsius. So 100℃ should work perfectly. xxD
what are those bulbs in the DRL spot? Im thinking to add extra highbeams in that spot aswell. (installed your aharon projectors on my factory afs lights already)
Sorry, don't exactly know what you mean, can you tell us the time in the vid you can see it, so we can see what you are referring to? Thanks!
Amazing!
On which temperature is the heat gun set?
Nice work
May I ask what was the reason behind inserting the lamp in that box?
Retrofitlab oh
Thank you
But after would they hold again?
Or would I need new sealant?
Retrofitlab I appreciate your help
I hope you have a nice day
So every time the bulb is damage, you have take a part the headlamp?
No, it can be replaced through the back of the headlight :) please see: 5:20 min
Oic, sorry i didn't see the bulb, i miss it as cable.
Hello,
i search cable at 4:24. Lens to H7
Do you sell it ?
If i want to install led light, what kind of proiector do i us? H7 projector?
Hello, we need more information to help you which kit is suitable for your car. Please email us about, your car model, year, and current headlights on your car (halogen or xenon). to our email at info@retrofitlab.com
Do you guys ship to Canada? Also, are these ballasts CANBUS compatible?
Hello there. What is the substance you use when pasting the car headlight back?
Retrofitlab thanks sir. This country is not sold in our country (country: Turkey). Would it be a problem to apply black quality cold silicone instead of this product?
Retrofitlab thanks. How much does the shipping charge cost?
