I think a cathedral would be perfect for this capital, to give it history. A train depot would be nice too ! If ever there is a problem, they can go to the capital of Coniferia to get it fixed ! Great job Infra ! I like it ! I follow you from Paris since your beginnings and you always impress me ;)
A traffic-fix episode would be neat! like: - Having fewer traffic lights (only on major intersections perhaps?) - Dedicated turning lanes - The road on the left of the main capitol building has its lanes inverted on both ends (2 entering and 1 leaving). Is the Hospital still functional, if you've used the procedural mod? This is turning out really awesome!!
I love how you’re making the capital more urban as on the island setting unlike pine harbor which is more sprawled out and suburban. It could tell the story how Pine harbor was always the small and lesser city to the capital but grew came to rival the capital post war as it had room to expand as the capital went into decline as it’s people (and power) moved out to the suburbs. But in the present more people are moving back into the cities so the capital has recovered taking advantage of its pre-existing urban fabric while Pine Harbor is trying to revitalize its downtown to stay competitive.
This city keeps getting better & better ! Just wow ! You're a great builder 🌟 I think this city needs a university, some schools, a fire station and a big cathedral, which will be, like the Capitol, a unique monument that attracts tourists 😉
I think i've said it before but I love your approach to every corner, area, block. It never feels rushed and the attention to detail is inspriring. This is coming together really beautifully. Even "dull" looking assets are being incorperated insanely well, get character and never feel out of place. Keep up the good work, man! I'm enjoying this series very much 👌 Edit: is the main station connected? Based on how big the new city has gotten I would expect tons of people to take the train by now.
Thanks a lot for a nice comment Duszh, glad you love it! I need to check up on the station, I assume it should have received at least intercity traffic by now 🧐😁
For the Train Station, the first segment (the one without the bus shelters), there's a mini entrance to the "Metro" which i recommend for you try to cover up since the Capital looks too small for even a tram nevermind a full metro 🤣
Plz fix the first traffic light into this city, and generally lanes along the highway etc. will improve traffic flow a lot. Otherwise a nice episode. Idea for the strange abandoned lot. Old building that was water damaged beyond repair, so a supermarket chain bought it in order to create a store there.
Haha actually imagine if many episodes later, Infrastructurist actually builds the new store in place of the old abandoned lot. That would be pretty interesting and shows that the city is still evolving similar to Pine Harbor.
Add a streetcar/tram network. This city would look gorgeous with this. Of course this is probably down the line when the city expands a bit. Keep up this series, it is amazing.
I am very happy I caught up on all of these episodes. Out of all your builds, this is the most organic out of all of your builds, in comparison to your Euro, Japan, Kendrick and Crescent City builds.
Every time I watch one of your videos, I feel the sudden urge to open Cities Skylines and work on my own city too. Super inspiring, thanks for making these videos!
I would love to see some services, especially small garbage services soon! One idea for Pine Harbors garbage collection: "They have managed with just a landfill until this point, but as the population has grown, time has come to upgrade the facilities to more environmentally friendly solutions, like burning the garbage rather than collecting it. The caveat is that the facility is very expensive and city used up the budget for it by building the Theatre and Arts complex, thus only having funds to expand the landfills and use cheap garbage solutions. All the while the rival capital city (name TBD) has the more modern solutions because of its space restrictions."
(in character) -- "Some of the citizens of Tagfield have would like to appeal to the city council for an outdoor concert venue for local musicians to perform during holiday gatherings. They were so impressed with the fine arts building in Pine Harbor that they would like a place of their own (something less fancy!)." (out of character) Thank you Infra, for all you do and for all your content! I'm mostly just posting this comment to help the algorithm ;)
Hey @Infrastructurist i'm pretty new to the game and your channel. After viewing some of your videos, now I can understand why people was so happy to see you back. You are really an artist in this game! Thanks for sharing all of this with us. Seriously, THANKS!
Maybe move the service point (police station for example) so cars don't just spawn in the middle of the building. You can move the spawn point to the parking lot. It would make a lot more sense. Same with other buildings, like making the actual ambulance spawn point to the ambulance door.
@@Infrastructurist yes the building spawn point mod! You can choose specific vehicle spawn. So you can put emergency vehicles somewhere different than garbage trucks for example
The regional capital look really great and different with its skyline. I think you should add a bit more high-rise buildings in pine harbour too, as it is the biggest city in the region for now.
Love the video, can’t wait to see what you make next. Would love to see a national park in the mountains on the island or something. The views of downtown would be so cool.
When you mentioned the 80 kmph speed limit in the parking lot and said you were going to change it, I said "Yeah, 6 mph No Wake!" And I had a good laugh 😅🤣 because that was the harbor boat speed limit where I grew up. Then I had *another* laugh 😅🤣 when I recalled the double entendre! ⚰
The 80km/h in the parking lot is perfectly fine there will probably be a crash every few minutes but it's right by the hospital so people should be fine
This looks absolutely gorgeous. I love the attention to detail and it's making me rethink how I lay out my cities. However, please please please get a train line set up to the train station. That traffic on the highway is driving me nuts!!!
Thanks a ton Jared! We're establishing a direct train line between the two big cities of the region in the episode I just uploaded! And we will need to emphasize fixing that insane traffic moving forward 😂
This is my third video I see here on your channel. I am very impressed, your richness of detail is fascinating and very inspiring. What I would still suggest would be a construction site, e.g. with a large crane. Thumbs up!
I just wanted to say that I watch all of your videos all the way through but at a faster speed which likely makes your retention rate look lower. I don't do it because the videos are boring but simply because I don't always have a lot of free time. Beautiful build this episode as always
You could build an underground parking complex like in Salt Lake City with entrances in the center of the road. I think that would look awesome in this dense downtown!
You know its weird. I'll fully admit to hating you with the fire of a thousand suns right now !!! Simply because you are so many leagues ahead of me in talent for this that its ridiculous haha. No matter how hard I try there's no way I could make something so spectacular. Loving this series so far !!!
Really cool work! I was wondering if you could maybe cover up one of the walls of that apartment complex in the random block with some kind of mural? It would add lots of detail and look very pretty
You sir, have been taking up too much of my time recently with you and your 40-50 minute videos. I don't mind though, they're strangely fun to watch and plus, the builds are great, really great.
Could you tell me which mod allows you to stretch the buildings, cut out the floors, and do some of the other mesh altering things I've seen you do? Series is excellent. Beautiful build.
@@Infrastructurist thank you sir, much appreciated. Looking forward to seeing where you take this. Also a tutorial on how you get those off ramps so smooth would be great if you ever have the time. Mine are always so janky when I try to make them look real and smooth.
Is there a block service added in for the Hospital since it's pretty much a procedural object? Neighbouring buildings seem to demand it so it won't hurt I think 🤷
Hi JemsYago - Thank you for the comment, you helped remind me to get that fixed - there is a block service on the workshop for a "medical clinic", but we should be able to RICO it to a solid major hospital capacity level. Thanks again, good find!
@@Infrastructurist haha thank god I reminded you of it, I kinda like seeing just a bit of functionality in cities. And hopefully you also do thst suggestion of someone where the building spawn point for people is at that one road that leads to the garage for ambulances. It would make things be very interesting to say the least.
I like your approach with the Capitol and the big central station. I would still like to make you a suggestion. Instead of building the old buildings next to the Capitol and in front of the main train station, consider building a public park. Perhaps a regional government park. This would give government employees and visitors to the main station an area to linger. In addition, a green arch would be created, which leans towards the sea. For example, you could place a single building in this park, maybe a library. Look at Washington DC. There you will also see a green connection between the Capitol and the Central Station. Thank you for this great series.
No clue what would've caused such a thing to happen. But it sounds quite interesting. Maybe they could be on opposite sides of a road instead of being right next to each other on a street?
