I loved the KTCA sign off at 22:55 - they did not have to put on a whole movie, but they did! The end with the control guy slowly turning off the lights actually gave me chills.
We know the NBC Yakima, Washington affiliate KNDO sign-off at 1:17:12 - has a song partially heard and muted due to a copyright claim by Universal Music Group, which is "Do It to Me" by Lionel Richie from his Motown Records Release "Back to Front" originally released in 1992. And at 1:18:24 right after KNDO's sign-off announcement and their studio transmitter links and Ellensburg Translator are shown, a brief snippet of a person unplugging the carrier is shown at the end.
The technical explanation is that that Hawaii is classified as part of FCC Zone I, so VHF stations that share a channel have to be at least 169.5 miles apart to avoid interfering with each other. Also, all VHF stations on adjacent channels (except for channel 4 & 5 and channel 6 & 7 pairings, which have frequency gaps between them) must be at least 59.5 miles apart to avoid interfering with each other. That's why Honolulu and Hilo share channels while Maui has a different channel lineup. (Kauai shares a channel lineup with Maui, but those stations were never built.)
@@damianvhs4127 I don't see my comment anymore, I wondered if maybe since I posted a link about Tricia Kellett, that your channel would get punishment from the clowns at UA-cam ... I think that you are not supposed to post certain links or summat, I'm not sure ... 🤔🤔🤔 I appreciate your quick reply! I ❤❤❤ your channel and channels like this, I'm grateful for ANY saved and uploaded nostalgic media! I subscribed! 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰

If Hawaii is all by itself why couldn't all the stations and translators be VHF instead of UHF? No other signals to interfere with.
