Very useful instructions. After a mere 20 years, the heater stopped. Looks like it is the microswitch operated by the door when closed, stays open circuit. Tempted to bypass it instead of a teardown to replace it.

Fantastic video. Thank you so much. Have a Candy tumble drier which stopped giving off heat and showed an E15 error code with all the lights on the dispaly. Withr the help of thia video i was able to fix the dryer and save eho knows how much money. Went out and bought a cheap Multimeter (£8.99) and diagnosed issue with a thermosat sensor by continuity testing. Sensor cost me £7.25 from ebay. Had it fixed within 5 days.
Great, saved us a new tumbler dryer. Hotpoint error code 21, video gave me confidence to find fault as was really simple to follow., filter was clogged and the thermostat over the heater had tripped and I reset it with just a touch. Many thanks.
Bought a dryer this time (December 20) last year, lights started flashing and stopping and starting, no heat, was absolutely devastated at the thought of having to buy another dryer, watched this video and omg, thank you so much, followed your advice and it worked! Absolutely delighted, over the moon!! Full credit to you!! 👍👍👍
Now David, please remember to not state what it was that was broken with your machine, because we're all here to get useful information like the symptoms of what was wrong with your machine, but after reading your comment, still not know the cure. Oh, you already had.😂
Fantastic video mate ! This is actually the second time I’ve watched it, used it to diagnose a thermostat fault over a year ago on my appliance. Just searched for a video to diagnose a fault again to refresh my memory & your video was thankfully the first to come up. My machine is slightly different in being I don’t need to remove the top or front, the bottom has a small section that comes away independently, I didn’t realise this until I’d stripped top & front though the first time, then made the same mistake again the second time 🤣. You’d think I’d learn, hopefully remember if it packs in again in a few years. Thanks again, saved us a good few hundred quid 👍
Thanks so much. This video is easy to understand. One of the thermostats on the back was faulty. Easy to change, and now the dryer works as it should. Thanks so much.

I ordered a new NTC sensor and heating element from your eBay shop after watching this video. Quick delivery of the correct parts and now the tumble dryer is up and running. Hopefully it can keep up with our 3 boys! Top video thanks very much
Had same problem all lights flashing and beeping. dryer worked by no hot air blowing. Candy wanted to send engineer for 120£. so did test on heater as shown in vid with volt meter. one thermostat not working, so £30 for new heater of ebay. simple to fit and now all working. thanks so much would never have attempted it without your vid and so easy to fix.
Thanks for such a clear video and instructions. Slightly different model, but all parts the same. Tested everything and found the front thermostat had gone. Quick replacement and we are up and running again.
Hi, thanks for this video. I just used it to fix my Hoover tumble dryer. It was the thermal fuse, first thing on the list, but I obviously tested the rest of the rear mounted bits like the thermostat and element. Really clear video and now im back up and running for just £10 in parts. There was a shocking amount of singed fluff stuck in the blower output so that might be the root cause. Id suggest anyone gets that cleaned out yearly, it's on a few screws to pup the covers off and get to it. Thanks again.
My Hoover model is HL V8LCG-80. A more modern version of the one in this video. I followed every step and found the exhaust (front) thermostat to be o/c but checked out the rear heaters because this is also a heater protecting fuse. I ordered a replacement from the web site for under £8 with free delivery when the one I ordered from Hoover had a long postage delay . The "How to repair" part arrived on the day specified and the machine was back in business within an hour. Brilliant service. Note: on this model the front panel is in two halves. Tilt the machine back as Paul does, remove 3 screws underneath (feet don't need removing) and pull the kick plate lower plastic panel straight down off it's locating lugs. This will reveal the 85 degree thermostat-fuse which can be tested and replaced as necessary. No other parts need touching if this fixes it! I could have faced a £120 call out and fix charge from Hoover who's engineer wouldn't take more than 15 minutes to replace this part. Note, the Hoover thermostat ordered 10 days ago, still hasn't yet arrived and I paid £3.50 postage!

Glad I found this as this is whats wrong with mine. I'm getting e15 error, circuit board, turned out to be this relay.... also... I did however notice you said the word "pacific" not "specific" lol. great work tho!
You are amazing. Thank you for your great video. I have a similar Hoover dryer and it keeps showing the filter light and at times all three lights flashing. Not sure what it means. Still works if switched on and off
Excellent tutorial thanks! Very clear and well thought out......Exactly what has happened to my Tumble Dryer, now I know I had tested all the other parts correctly...I have another dryer but will use this one to 'play on' and will use your services no doubt...

excellent video, I used to work for hoover candy as a service engineer, I now do it over all machines on my own, generally buy / refurbish and sell. I came across this fault with some frequency and the machine will actually record a relay fault on the board if you can use what we called a mem loader, which was what you plug into the board to either program or read error code histories. I however do not know how to do the electronic side as all we did was replaced boards, I am starting to learn this now as there is alot of machines I am having to strip because of board faults which I want to learn how to repair. Great work on showing the relay switches, and your nifty gadgets :-) I do so hope your de-solder machine isn't a small fortune as it looks very handy and I am about to check ebay with my hopes up of a new toy.... if you have raised my hopes and its expensive im going to act like a disappointed kid at Christmas and smash that dislike button :-)

Great video thanks for taking the time to make it. I am currently testing the heater and get the following readings. white/red 97ohms white/black 49.3ohms white/yellow 49.5ohms What are the correct readings for this element?

My heater got 3x wires on the connector that goes to the element....i can see 2x reds and i yellow... which are the one to test? Thank you hoover vhc 68b
Thanks for the detailed instructions! I have the exact same model and although I don't have the correct equipment to complete the final tests managed to identify the printed circuit board was the cause of the problem. I fitted a new board and noticed that each time I changed the setting on the selector dial the panel made a beep - realised it hadn't been doing this for ages. All working fine now! Thanks again for the advice.
normally a faulty ntc sensor will cause an error on the circuit board Thank you for leaving a comment this is for you ua-cam.com/users/shortse432SAb2g08 please remember to subscribe as that's is what keeps this channel going. Thanks 👍
Hi I have a Miele tumble dryer T294c It’s not heating up cold air light coming on then stops I tested the thermostat at the back where the heating element is and is working there is another temperature sensor next to it the reading comes 98.9 ohms I don’t know if this is a good or not but I’m stuck with it what do you suggest me to do based on your knowledge thank you

Thanks for a great video, I have nearly the same machine and it seems to take far too long to dry...it draws 9A for a very short time and then goes back to drive amps for a bit then heats again but not for long...it is on the 40 min quick high setting. Is that normal pleasel!? P.S. It has a new heater unit at the back.
I tested the heater in the same way, looks very similar and on a Candy but got white to yellow and red continuity but nothing on the white to black so I take it that's the thermostat it's just for some reason they don't standardise their colours or is it a case of there's a break in the black and a short in the yellow?
Hi daughter has a Candy GVS H9A2DCE-80 dryer that has an E14 code. I think that is the NTC probe. Any idea where she can get the spares? Sadly I am overseas working and cannot fix so it will be left to her husband.
Hello sir I have a candy csc9lf-80 and I have tried all sensors and element no problems with them the machine flashes 11x after a minute or 2 of running.I run the machine with out the door on and it was running just fine any idea what's up with it 👍
Thank you for your videos ! Very professional , to the point 👍 I have had to change the high temp temp thermostat twice now I have cleaned the machine out fully did the the first time but I fear this is going to trip again what do you think may be causing this ? the machine has good air flow all round and kept clean heater shows signs of use dis coloured one side (inside) but nothing major is there anything I should do before replacing the hole heater ? Thank you in advance
Hi , great video i have the same wiring loom on my hoover dryer . However have the following results .. white and red NO CONTINUITY , white and yellow HAVE CONTINUITY , white and Brown HAVE CONTINUITY .. Does that mean the heater is knackered ? many thanks for your help
Hey just found that nice Video, what if i test my Heater and get continuity over all fields? Testing White + Red = 96 ohm no beeeep white + black = 48 ohm and beep white + yellow = 48 ohm and beep other combinations are all 48 ohm exept yellow and black there 0 and beep Does that mean my heater is dead ? i mean should be 2 circits i guess? not that expirience in electrical testing so an answer would be nice greetings
Paul, the wiring on the heater section, if you say that the yellow and black go to same terminal, surely they should short. And in the video when you say you get nothing, its not between those. What should you get on the wiring?

Thank you, for another great video, please help me, I have an INDESIT SENSOR condensor with all leds flashings - I have reset one of the thermostats with a pin and heard it click, the heater look okay, and the dryer started heating for about 5 minutes then again F04 error and flashing - (I don't have a multi meter) , is F04 'pump not piloting issue' or is it a heater problem, thank you in advance

I got continuity on my heater (3 cables) element on black and yellow. it beeps. black and red beeps. and yellow and red beeps as well. is this mean my thermostat faulty on black and yellow cable? I also checked continuity on each thermostat with one of the cables disconnected, both thermostats beep. on my heater circuit i got 26 ohms on both and label says 1050/1050 watts. it looks like i have to go and open up my relay from my program panel. Update: I took of the relay from the panel and opened it up. Black burned contact points. Waiting for the new one.
My Hoover VHC 691B stopped working, it was totally dead. Checking the circuit board i could see the chip had broken apart, so I replaced the circuit board. However when I tested it the tumble dryer stopped and beeped when I put it on a sensor porgramme and if I tried it on a timed programme it went straight to the spin bypassing the heat part of the programme. I ended up biying a new heater however the tumble dryer is still showing the same symptoms. What else could the fault be? I was thinking maybe the NTC sensor is broken but I'm not sure. i cant locate any other thermostats apart from the two on the heater that have been replaced. Many thanks.

Yes this is a multimeter they do come in different colors but I suggest you take a course online on how to use them. It is better to be safe and have an understanding of what you're doing before attempting any work on an appliance
I dont seem to have a "loop" wire on either thermostat is that normal. I'm not getting continuity on left stat so would that be my problem or am i doing something wrong?
Loving these tutorials, already have a fixed washing machine thanks to the videos. My hoover tumble dryer is doing the same thing, I've tested the heater and the thermostats in the heater all shows continuity (the heater itself only has 3 cables and all seem to throw 0.02 when tested). The NTC sensor shows a drop when I place my hand on it and eventually goes back up. There doesn't seem to be a thermostat on the front like the model yours shows. Not sure where else to go. Presuming it's now going to have to be the relay but is there a way for someone that doesn't have the kit you have to test wether the relay is dead or not without removing it and building a 12v test bench? Side note when turning it on with the panel loose I get one click when it starts then another click a few seconds later does that help at all in diagnosing?
i bought a heating element for my candy condenser dryer, i've tried to replace it but there are only 3 wires and my new element has 4 wires ,it was sold to fit my model please help
Hi my friend has a candy condenser dryer cs c8lf-80 Its about 4 years old and it keeps tripping the heater me and her partner changed the thermostat with the button on it as it kept not heating and flashing then after 2 times it wouldn’t pop up again! So we replaced it and then it’s worked fine for 2 weeks now it’s doing it all over again… what do you think this could be ? As everything else works fine… we didn’t replace the other thermostat on the left but that has no button. Could it be that one or the element? even though it looks fine we’re a bit confused as to what it is…. and UA-cam just keeps saying press that button or replace it we did! and will stop and work for a short time then trips the heater again and blows cold air after. All airways heat exchangers etc are clear and clean. We’re lost and they can’t afford a new dryer and it’s not even that old they would rather sort it out…
Hi, what are the parameters for the black one thermostat on the heater element? On what temp it should open on then close again? my model is Hoover DYC 71013NBX. Thank you!

Hoover DX C9DG-80 Tumble Dryer Thermostat My dryer gets so hot that it's melting and burning clothes. Any idea which sensor or thermostat it could be? Hoover want a £150 call out charge but a thermostat is as little as £6.50
Hello is any chance you can help me please i have hoover candy model number is: HL V9DG-80. The problem is is not heating for some reason i check all the heating elements and thermostats all working but no heat
I have the same problem with mine , i opened it like you did , but in the back there was no heater at all i have no idea i think i have bought a defective one
hmmm, that's an odd one, if you go over to our facebook page, you can book an appointment with one of our engineers :) they'll be able to point you in the right direction facebook.com/how.to.repair.appliances/
Hi mate, I'm sorry to hear about the problem with your tumble dryer. Hoover tumble dryers sometimes show an E08 error code when they overheat. This could happen if the dryer isn't always turning, which means it doesn't get the airflow it needs over the heater. The fan blade on the back of the motor circulates air through the machine. If the airflow is restricted or not blowing at all, the thermostats on top of the heater may overheat. There are usually two thermostats on the heater.

Hi my drier heater element looks similar to yours only mine has only 3 wires in the block, when testing i get continuity on the black and yellow but nothing on the black and red or yellow and red, but when but when testing direct to the element i get continuity so am i right in saying the temp sensor is on the right and some sort of fuse on the left as the bit on the left has an open circuit thus not making continuity to the heater element, my machine has a fault code of error 22 my machine is a hoover one touch dynamic next thanks Regards Nick
Have just diagnosed the thermo switch is open circuit 206c as i have read its a solder fuse and its blown so a replacement has been ordered and now vacced out the entire mechine of fluff which is probably what the problem cause
I have the condensor version and have replaced the thermal fuse 3 times in the last year, we ensure the filters are cleaned regularly yet the fuse still blows after a few months. Any idea what the issue could be?
Most of the time it is the thermostat failing, burning together and not switching off, then the fuse will blow when reaches the 206C. So usually a fuse blow means something is faulty before it.
Saved me £350, thank you. Enjoy your beers

Bro, it would have been in warranty should have brought it back, it at least would have been covered by the supply of good and services act

Thanks please remember to subscribe as that's is was keeps this channel going. Thanks 👍

Hi how do I reset the dial on tumble dryer not giving heat
Thought it was the heating element, turned out to be the front sensor.

Is this same issue relevant to the heat pump version or are they all the same
excellent video, I used to work for hoover candy as a service engineer, I now do it over all machines on my own, generally buy / refurbish and sell.
Great work on showing the relay switches, and your nifty gadgets :-) I do so hope your de-solder machine isn't a small fortune as it looks very handy and I am about to check ebay with my hopes up of a new toy.... if you have raised my hopes and its expensive im going to act like a disappointed kid at Christmas and smash that dislike button :-)

same to mee on my machine.
How much was the replacement board please?

Can the first thermostat checked on the heater unit be bought separately or you need to buy the whole unit ? Many thanks.
Cheers for the informative video, solved the issue with my dryer.

Testing White + Red = 96 ohm no beeeep
white + black = 48 ohm and beep
white + yellow = 48 ohm and beep
other combinations are all 48 ohm exept yellow and black there 0 and beep
Does that mean my heater is dead ? i mean should be 2 circits i guess?
not that expirience in electrical testing so an answer would be nice
greetings
Paul, the wiring on the heater section, if you say that the yellow and black go to same terminal, surely they should short. And in the video when you say you get nothing, its not between those. What should you get on the wiring?

Thank you, for another great video, please help me, I have an INDESIT SENSOR condensor with all leds flashings - I have reset one of the thermostats with a pin and heard it click, the heater look okay, and the dryer started heating for about 5 minutes then again F04 error and flashing - (I don't have a multi meter) , is F04 'pump not piloting issue' or is it a heater problem, thank you in advance
without having a multimeter it is impossible to check for machine correctly. it would be unfair for me to actually answer this without having the machine in front of me as I might be giving you false information. I'm sorry I'm unable to help with this one

Where is the thermal fuse located on this model
Is the yellow box thing a multi-meter?
Hi my friend has a candy condenser dryer cs c8lf-80
Its about 4 years old and it keeps tripping the heater me and her partner changed the thermostat with the button on it as it kept not heating and flashing then after 2 times it wouldn’t pop up again! We’re lost and they can’t afford a new dryer and it’s not even that old they would rather sort it out…
have you got a vid of doing the motor relay that controls left to right thanks

Hoover DX C9DG-80 Tumble Dryer Thermostat
My dryer gets so hot that it's melting and burning clothes. Any idea which sensor or thermostat it could be? Hoover want a £150 call out charge but a thermostat is as little as £6.50

I have a candy GOC 781B, may i know the values of resister on the circuit board
Hi... I have a error code E08 on this Hoover hdry 300 lite, am I in thinking that it's the heating element that's at fault
I have the same one which comes up E15 error, heating element goes red hot as soon as turn on machine, any ideas please?

Hi my drier heater element looks similar to yours only mine has only 3 wires in the block, when testing i get continuity on the black and yellow but nothing on the black and red or yellow and red, but when but when testing direct to the element i get continuity so am i right in saying the temp sensor is on the right and some sort of fuse on the left as the bit on the left has an open circuit thus not making continuity to the heater element, my machine has a fault code of error 22 my machine is a hoover one touch dynamic next thanks
Regards
Nick
Have just diagnosed the thermo switch is open circuit 206c as i have read its a solder fuse and its blown so a replacement has been ordered and now vacced out the entire mechine of fluff which is probably what the problem cause
I have the condensor version and have replaced the thermal fuse 3 times in the last year, we ensure the filters are cleaned regularly yet the fuse still blows after a few months. Any idea what the issue could be?
Most of the time it is the thermostat failing, burning together and not switching off, then the fuse will blow when reaches the 206C. So usually a fuse blow means something is faulty before it.
i have e08 on my hoover one touch vented dryer, how do i fix this please?
