If you're looking for an extremely heavy-Duty cutting tool, then you've found the answer in the Condor Heavy-Duty Kukri, this really is a chunky survival knife. The spine is the thickest we've seen on any bushcraft or survival cutting tool, approx. 6mm thick! So thick in fact, that there should be a prize offered to anyone that's managed to break one under normal use!
As with any kukri, the shape of the blade is designed for cutting and chopping power, the downward motion is enough to split small logs, carve sticks or prepare game and vegetables for the cook pot.
The blade is made from 1075 High-Carbon steel and offers a Full-Tang design as you'd expect on any strong survival knife, so chopping tasks are completed with ease!
The handle scales are made from American Walnut the kukri is supplied with a black leather sheath with belt loop for convenient carry and ease of access at all times.
Condor Heavy-Duty Kukri Specs:
Blade Length: 241mm (9.5-Inches)
Blade Steel: 1075 high carbon
Blade Thickness: Approx. 6mm
Tang: Full-Tang
Handle Material: American Hardwood
Overall Length: 381mm (15.-Inches)
Sheath: Made from black leather with belt loop and pop stud (supplied)

I Love It! - Stanley adventure cook set 5 year review and mods
I got one given to me by a gurkha. Not as heavy as this one but the one I have comes with two smaller knives aswel. The gurkhas carry it and use it for chopping wood, cooking, etc and even in battle. A fearsome force. One of the most professional units about
nice, treasure that one man
My wife bought me this knife. I love it. If you need to sharpen it, or any curved blade knife, use a sharpening steel. With a little practice, you can easily make it shave.
I use a floppy leather strop to , works great
@@RedBranchBushcraft that's a great idea. I'm going to try that. Thanks.
Works great
Got mine for those bumps in the night when in the middle of the forest, 4 Legs or 2
Lol, it will take care of those all right
Great knife! Got one for my son. He's got those XXL hands and it was perfect for him. Great video btw!!!
Excellent stuff buddy
Condor has amazing sheathes. I have their Boar dagger and K-tac kukri. They're always the most comfortable to wear and the longest lasting. Even the Machetes are super comfortable
Yes they do, I'm always amazed at the quality
i agree; although on bushcraft parang they offer cordura sheath only, tool itself is amazing. is K-tact worth price difference or it comes only with better scales and sheath ?
I think it's because the leather rots in the jungle
@@RedBranchBushcraft true. not only jungle, everywhere where there is a lot of humidity. here, where i live (central europe), spring and autumn is very humid and even treated leather can get moldy in time. i prefer synthetic/plastic just for that; practicality.
@@ApocGuy that's good to know, in Ireland we have no humidity
That is a war weapon. Made for removing heads in close combat. I will attest Condor makes good stuff. I have the Hudson Bay knife and several machetes, the heaths for all as you say are the top of the line.
Exactly buddy
I wanted a Kukri years ago, but a mate gave me a cheap old Bear Grylls machete.
It does alright but as soon as I kill it, a Kukri is on order 😉👍🏼
The Condor one is hard to beat , I tried to beat it
@@RedBranchBushcraft Nice one, Wooly.
It’ll be the one when Mr. BG snuffs it 😁
Hoo hoo hoo ooooh.... My favorite type of knife.
Nice! A very handy tool
I have the scrade little ricky very similar so learnt how to use it now as seemed a useless buy at time also have the condor bushlore and love it the sheath worth price you pay n quality knives too
Condor sheaths are excellent
Good to see the Kukri getting a workout. Since the last video, I bought the King Kukri. It’s a chopping monster. I haven’t fully tested it but the little tests I’ve done have been good. No good for fine tasks though.
Nice one, I find that the more you use it the easier fine tasks become, but I've never used the king before
@@RedBranchBushcraft, I carved a spoon with my HD Kukri, just to see if I could. I really like the HD version.
Nice!!
I edged my Seax the same way, fine at the hand and ovalish at the end for chopping, currently making a leather home for it.
Nice
Good video and review👍🏻
Cheers buddy,
I have both this one and the bigger one. I like them both.
Which do you prefer?
@@powers1776reset the smaller one but only slightly mainly because it's more compact and easier to carry
I kind of like the heavy duty that you have more than the Ktac model. It would be nicer though with some slimmer micarta scales on the handles though. I think I'll have to get one to check out. Thanks for the nice review. 👍
No problem, thanks for the comment
I love my Condor, but I didn’t love it at first. I thought the handle was too thick and uncomfortable, like holding a closet pole. It was ok, but waaaay tiring to use all day. Once I reshaped the handle, which was easy to do, it became my favorite knife.
Excellent
It seems we have something in common - for my hands, handle is also too thick. How exactly did you reshape it? :-)
I'd say a bit of sand paper would work
@@marekeda I used an angle grinder to cut a notch into the metal for my front finger and shape the handle into something more oval, then finished it up with sandpaper and a couple coats of polyurethane
Thanks for for replying Brockinspectre
I have one of these Kukris, but I ground down the "Shark fin" on the top and made a more gentle curving blade which is more like a classic Kukri, the result is it is slightly lighter and looks a lot nicer.
nice one, sounds cool
🤨 that’s unfortunate. Decrease the effectiveness of the design, in order to make it look more like a non kukri knife. Perhaps a Esee or a Becker, would have been more your speed
@@powers1776reset how did he sabotage the design to not as effective?? I call it bullshit!
Kukri is my favorite style of machete
i like the parang style better
Wooly VanHelsing! Awesome knife brother! Nice felling, it didn't hang up. Only if you use a saw or an axe right?
lolololo, yep, save the hang ups for the saw
I felt my soul leave my body temporarily when the knife slipped on the tree
Lolololo, me to, good thing I was well back, thanks for watching and commenting
@@RedBranchBushcraft no problem mate, it’s been like 3 months since this vid was uploaded, is the knife still in a good condition?
@@trippa3553 yes, in the same condition, doesnt get a lot of use these days
i am defo gonna buy
Lol, not until your 18 buddy
@@RedBranchBushcraft i will use my mums id
Definitely looks like a fun blade to have around! Would you prefer this or some other chopper?
I'd prefer a parang , 100%
@@RedBranchBushcraft ah I do love a good parang! I’ve been meaning to pick a decent one up for a while now.
I much prefer the shape of a parang, have a look at my bushcraft parang video
You and Bruno sure keep that little patch of woods tidy and trimmed up. You chop them, He chomps them. 😁 Stay well over there, Wooly. Give the dogs a scratch for me.
Will do, im 5 years tending to this patch of woods, my own fault for over planting it years ago, but thats another story
Which is better condor kukri or Gurkha house kukri
I've never tried the Gurkha house ones , sorry
hi, what is the best steel for survival kukri?
Something carbon I'd say, then you can throw sparks off it
@@RedBranchBushcraft what do you think about this kukri (Condor K-TAC Kukri Knife 1812-10HC machete 61717)
OK I'm sold lol. We're can I get one??
I got this one off knives and tools:www.knivesandtools.co.uk/en/pt/-condor-heavy-duty-kukri-knife-1813-10hc-machete-61718.htm
The day I got mine I immediately dropped it pulling it out of the sheith on top of ceramic tiles breaking the tip-off a pretty significant amount and I had it customized before getting the knife itself and had to put a new tip on it and couldn't get a new one obviously cuz it was my fault just alot of money for instant breaking
Jebus man! That's unlucky
@@RedBranchBushcraft that's nothing compaired to my shit luck I have with life
Bugger
Ever compared this one to the CRKT Kuk?
No, I've never held the crkt
I'd love a decent kukri
These ones aren't bad
Where can we buy oñe for. Best Deal???
Knives and tools . Co. Uk
can you please give me the purchase link?
Knives and tools. Co. Uk
How many trees were harmed in the filming of this video? How many more will be during the lifetime of this knife? Does the word knife really need the letter K? Should I go with the Ka Bar knowing how many trees have fallen from the blade stroke of the Condor? Would owning the Condor somehow make me complicit? Is the Tree Lives Matter movement too far to the left? Will this knife purchase be protected under the 2nd amendment? Can I legally bring this high-capacity knife into the state of California? Can Texas keep it's laws off my body? Should I move to El Salvador?
Lol, so many good questions, so many possibilities
Remember to use your wrist and let the blade do the work not your arm! Good vid 👍🏴
Cheers buddy
Is it worth buying?
Quallity?
Quality is excellent, a very capable knife
Great, just ordered one.
@@kungpuk5186 nice
never been a fan of a recurve blade. I see the advantages but I don't like trying to sharpen them...
You know it surprised me that day, it was a fun blade to use , was quite practical, and ate through that tree
@Captain Willard to each their own, just not my thing.
I have the same knife. I keep it close to razor sharp. I use a steel to sharpen it. I only use stones on any of my knives if I have to repair an edge.
Some tree hugger with a phone made out of materials from a Lithium and rare earth metals mine: *CUTTING TREE BAD*
Lol
There was no need for it though. There's dead wood stacked behind him.
Are you a Scot? Where are you filming?
I'm irish, this is my wee forest where I teach bushcraft
@@RedBranchBushcraft very nice spot. Tranquil. You got a nutty McFollower here.
@@itzybitzyspyder cheers man

👍👍👍👍👍
Is it garbage? Depends on if you can polish a Turd…
Thanks buddy
You should have one for each hand... cut through the tree in 1/2 the time!😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣
lololo
You forgot to show it as a “spoke shave, and a draw knife” two more operations of a kukri , that most don’t know about! Be careful!
yes man, great points
@@RedBranchBushcraft you forgot one very important point about knives... the best knife in the world is only as good as it’s user! So basically that $330.00+ knife sitting on the shelf as a paper weight is in all intensive purposes no better then a $40.00 Buck!
@@thesmallwoodlot433 man a 40 buck buck is a great knife
@@RedBranchBushcraft yes, it is, I don’t have it yet but it is the Buck 110
@@thesmallwoodlot433 i have one, lovely knife
good video, but I gotta.... Kukri = coo-cree
Lolol
sorry man , im terrible at pronouncing stuff
@@RedBranchBushcraft lol, it's fine man, I enjoy being an arsehole and correcting you.... : )
and I find it hilarious that I got a laugh and an apology for the same comment...but not from the same nickname bu from the same guy....lol...(I tried to make it as confusing as I could)
Nope. Thats just how clueless Americans pronounce it. The rest of the world uses "ku - kree", or similar.
Get me some zombies.....
lololo, i will
His Face looks Arabic but his voice is Very Viking sounding
Lol, I'm Irish, Celtic not viking
I would not suggest buying this knife, unless you’re ready to spend 20 hours with a stone too get the blade where it needs to be.
Luck of the draw I think, mine was ok out of the box
How dare you cut that skinny tree when you had that big fat overweight one behind you. I believe you are racist towards fat trees.
Just have some fun 😜 good video brother been eyeing the condor I really like their sheath but I got a deal on a Nepali kukri from GGH amazing work and I like 5160 better then 1075
That said condor looks cool but watching you I know I made the right choice because of handle grip. The condor doesn't have the bottom of the handle done right. Also i heard they have fat handles. That I couldn't tell but the wedge on your knife didn't work how it's supposed to ya know what I mean.
Please don't get me wrong its a great blade but it needs improvements for me vs one that comes workable minus the killer sheath.
No problem man thanks for a great comment. The handle is ok , not to fat , I've small hands and it's never bothered me
Will it skin an AÑ AMERIÇAÑ AGENDA 🐀🐁 RAT .??
No one knows
I find it repulsive that he chopped down a healthy tree just to demonstrate .....
It's a managed forest, the tree was going to be taken down anyway and replaced with native species
