  • Now it's time to test ride the Indian Scout! This is a bike I'd foolishly discounted because I thought, for some reason, that we only got the smaller capacity version here in Australia.

      This and the naked indian springfield 2024. Both of them are the pinnacles of motorcycling. One will make you feel like you are on a 210 kg bike despite it being almost 330 kgs naked. Thats Springfield for you. Pinnacle of motorcycling ❤️❤️. Underrated gem of a machine.

    So I’ve had this exact bike for over 2 years, my height is 5ft 8 with inside leg 32. I have owned many bikes but for me this is the best so far and I will be keeping this a very long time, it’s a good size and bloody fast for a cruiser (I’ve also had sport bikes) it’s definitely way more comfortable then the bobber which I was set to buy and thought if I buy an Indian it would be the bobber however after taking both for a test ride it had to be the scout, I’ve actually realised I made a good choice everyone is buying the scout bobber and I think they can start looking a bit plane and maybe dated over time but this classic shape will only get better with time, suspension no problems, very practical and looks awesome in black.
    I’ve had Harleys and I like them too, but the Indian done it for me this time, love both brands ✌️

    Good to see a constructive review of the standard Scout for a change. My local dealer was offering an incentive of US $1,000 in accessories, so I promptly had them install the Indian extended reach seat, forward controls and mini-apes. It fits my 6' 1" frame perfectly. Also, I prefer the full-length fenders/mudguards on the standard Scout. Firstly, I love the classic look. Secondly, I don't get filthy schtuff all over my radiator, engine and me. Cheers from Alabama

    Paul, watching you ride a Scout was quite an encouragement. I am around 6' 4" and rapidly getting close to my base weight of 250 lbs. My inseam is shorter than yours at about 33 inches, so I am a little longer in the trunk. I have sat on a Scout at our local dealership and kind of felt like I had walked onto a mini-bike, so I never did a test ride. I currently ride a Victory Vision Tour which is a beast, but having a smaller motorcycle as a second would be nice for shorter day rides and running around town. I really like the simplicity of the Scout and Chief series, but assumed they would be too small for comfort. Maybe I should rethink this.

    • @BikesILike
      @BikesILike  Рік тому +1

      Definitely check out the Scout Vincent. The bike I rode had the standard seat and controls but there are extended reach options which sits the rider further back and can also move the foot controls even more forward. See if you can get a test ride.

      @@PatrickJWenzel I did not buy a scout. I actually ended up buying a BMW R1200 GSA. I sold my Victory to a friend. I found that I need to run off pavement to visit friends and the Victory just didn't cut it, although I never dropped the Vic when I did run off tarmac. Going to the BMW cut 400lbs + off and is actually amazingly comfortable at the same time.

      I am about as big as you are and while I couldn't take one for a ride I did sit on Indian Chief dark horse bobber with mini apes and forward controls for a while and my first thought was "Oh, so this is what a bike that is suitable for my size feels like." I couldn't find a single muscle in my body that seemed to be in awkward angle or where blood flow would be hampered, back was nice and straight and knees were well below my hips etc...
      Now my own old 2005 Speedmaster feels very small and cramped. Scout is very similar in size to that bike so yeah, I would not buy one when it is time to upgrade even though I did once consider it as one of the upgrade choices. One of the Chiefs is going to be my next bike, there is no doubt. 🤘

      @@BikesILike I hope you will have the opportunity to test this bike. Another thing that makes many testers not good is because they are driving in the wrong gear. Constantly higher revs and throttle and hold on. Importantly, it shows how it is during normal driving and also hears low revs you can lie on without the engine protesting. Another mistake is also that many people talk all the time and have also not bothered to have good sounds from the way the engine sounds. You are definitely one of the best. So that's why I wish you would try the moto guzzi mandello v100. But also older bikes like the mean streak Kawasaki that I'm interested in, for example. moto guzzi audace 1400 is right now my dream bike. But there is no one who is driving at low revs but is at high revs all the time. So tired of low level people ha ha.Sorry iam frustreting.
