- Welcome to the Dry Brook & Esopus Valley railroad! This is a new, fictional route we'll be working on. In this episode I'll explain the inspiration behind this build and what I hope to achieve with it.

Oh how far it's come
For the livery, you should simply do a “patch” livery. A Conrail Geep with the line’s reporting marks (DBEV) beneath the numbers over black spray paint, and the Conrail lettering painted over.
Of course, it doesn’t have to be Conrail. something more “vintage” would make sense. Maybe an Ex-Penn Central or NYC unit.
I'm thinking of having at least one unit painted like that. :-)

Wow! This gets me excited. This basically sums up a lot of the railroad near me. Mostly abandoned. Sidings I've never seen used, overgrown spurs. I love it.
Can't wait to see more of this! With a 10 mile branch I think your power lineup should look like a couple second gen geeps and a switcher, maybe one of those BW9 things, since this is fictional.
I'd like to see some Alcos. Maybe some RS11s?
I'm thinking something along those lines. Might be a GP7 or 9, RS11 and SW1500.
Me: doesn't know anything about trains
Paint scheme should be mostly patchouts, with possibly a single NYC-inspired unit. My suggestion for the next route would be a four-track mainline stretch, in ideal condition and suitable for fast running, in the steam era.

Your paint job could be an NYC pattern in Conrail blue and PC black. Add some gray perhaps for the borders, etc. That way, you are acknowledging your route's history.
you should have old CR,PC and NYC locos with DB&EV under the number boards. And cross out the old logos on the sides of those engines with black and grey and put an orange DB&EV on the side.

Wow, this is so cool Joe! Great work and look forward to more...and more P&B for release...when it's done. I'm patient. :) Oh...forgot to mention my thoughts about your logo. The screenshot of the hills and trees looks pretty cool! Maybe integrating that somehow? It looks 70's and 80's appropriate type of artwork. Just a thought.

WOW that's awesome looking you do some amazing work. I have the Android version of the Sim and I'm not very good at making a realistic railroad, I'm able to make it to a certain extent but then I get all messed up and have no idea what else to do especially since the Android version doesn't have any very much stuff like The PC version has. I can't wait to see your next video.

You use a six axle.engi e specifically a SD45
For the logo, why not make a circle logo with the photo of the hills you have? Paint scheme, how about blue and gold to represent the state of New York, with the livery being based off of the Boston and Maine's maroon and yellow livery, but have the maroon being blue and the yellow being the gold?

i gotta wonder: is there a way to make trainz aI shunt on there own? i tried to use the driver session but i couldn't decouple the train at a certain spot without going into the game

I'd love to do something like this with this level of detail, but I am limited to Trainz Driver 2 on iPad and do not know how to download additional content or find any info on UA-cam about how either. I'd wish that this game would be on ps4 or xbox but I guess it isn't sadly

I might eventually move this map to TRS19 but for now it's going to live in TANE
i installed it and the R&N routes and there are missing deps like no crossing gates, half of the tracks and buildings are not shown like engine shops and bridges plus engines aren't drivable

Hide the compass and use a steady hand. Occasionally I'll use invisible track but 99% of the time I just do it manually.

I think this railroad would look good if the locomotives didn't have any company logos and just had stenciled letters on a solid colored weathered background, I can't imagine a railroad like this putting all their money into locomotive paint schemes and decals, I'd imagine they'd rather maintain the rails and the internals of the locomotives rather than looks
I feel ya. I’m imagining they want to have a good public image so they spent a little extra on a proper scheme.
Approach Medium I guess you could also make it apart of Genesee & Wyoming Inc and paint the locomotives in their corporate scheme that would look good too
