I have quit Top War about two weeks ago as well. For exact same reason but from a different perspective. I grinded daily to be level 80 in my server and only spend 99 cents on the game. The amount of belittling from whales on daily bases, constantly making fun of not able to afford VIP higher than 1 was rather surprising. Players spend over $10,000 to rule a server, bullying others, clearly wishing other players real life death and other very unfortunate statements. Yet Top War will not do anything about it as they see them as good paying customers and let them do whatever they want.
Man, I'm so glad you've put into words what a lot of us who've been around a while have been feeling. It's hard to walk away when you've quite literally invested so much in something, and I'll miss the hell out of your thoughtful and entertaining insight. Refunded as much as I could to guarantee I couldn't come back, and now.... well not much has changed except for a little more "splurging" at the grocery store, but that's not really saying much these days either. I definitely noticed some of my recent videos suffering because I just didn't have it in me anymore to do it. I definitely put a lot of thought into this before deciding to quit. The game is designed to rope in 1000 new players on each new server, hope a handful of players will dump in thousands in spending, and one or two will dump in tens of thousands. Then let those whales eat the other 900 players until server merger, and do the best to keep feeding those remaining whales until critical attrition of the player base. The cycle is repeated over and over, as player retention is never part of the business model. That's why the deceptive ads, so they can rope in as much new players as possible. Even if the new players don't spend money, they will function as food for the new whales.

Where p2w is actually against the terms of use) Donors don't pay for privileges, they pay for being put against *opponents who didn't pay*. If everybody was paying the same, p2w games would get very boring.

As a F2P, Found your videos very informative and with your tips saw my performance improve but always felt the delta with money that the developers want to make. I can afford all the $$ but took pride in grinding in through and am still vip0 player. Agree that they need to find the balance between money and fun. All the best and hope you will share with us something better to have us switch to that game.

I started playing top war around March 2021 when I lost my job. I’ve met so many good people on that game and we tried to make things work with the game. The game was getting progressively worse and pay 2 win and I was no longer interested in spending anymore time on the game. The only thing that kept me on was the friends I made, but ever since our server started dying it made no sense to continue. I stopped playing around June 2022 and I’ve never been happier with my life. I’m so glad you’re doing better things for yourself! I still keep getting those fake top war ads on Tik tok and it’s frustrating because I keep telling the algorithm that I’m not interested in those ads. Not surprised that they have a company policy, they’re probably worried that once people see game play nobody would be interested in it. Good luck with your future endeavors, you were amazing and helped me tremendously on my top war gameplay!

Damn. You were the best out there. It’s your vids that have elevated my play. Your breakdowns for events & heros, have really helped. Unfortunately, this game has the same type of life cycle as the likes of “Game of war” “World war rising” “Mobile strike” and “Final Fantasy” - pay to win structure that escalates till it simply dies out from fatigue of just “trying to keep up”. Very, very sorry to see you go.
That's definitely where I see the game going. I think top war does a great job with the small things little quality of life improvements but when it comes to the big things the things that matter they ruin it every time
The game definitely helps me while I was doing security with nothing to do but sit on my butt and watch a door. But since I've already put in my two week notice and I'm moving on to something else I think it's time to move on from this as well. I'm glad I was able to help and I wish you the best

That was the same thing that kept me playing for the longest time. I've been reading a lot lately so that's taken the place of what normally would be a phone game and I think it's doing me good
Sad to know of this decision bro, many will follow you on this decision. The only thing that still attracted players was chatting with friends, but lately super servers have been killing this too.
They do nothing about the blatant breaking of TOS by players who are VIP 10 and over. They wont fix the issues with server transfers, or the 60+ players who are sneaking into servers, taking them over and then holding all the EL rewards to themselves. They haven't listened to anyone in the community about wanted things or changes to make the game better. I left 08/27/22 and will not be back. I do appreciate the info you provided while I was playing, and good luck on your future goals!
Wannabe, you were best source of info and wisdom about TW. Your vids were the easiest to understand and I followed much of your advice. And even more, your vids were fun to watch! I frequently laughed at your comments. You'll be missed! I've played for a year, 100% F2P. Not even Diana. I've enjoyed it, especially at first, but it's mostly repetitive and boring after you get your Valhallas and perk your heroes. There's nothing left. You can't move up without dropping cash (or the bored whales drop out). There's no strategy. It's just grinding it out like a lab rat chasing the bits of cheese. I applaud your decision. It's even harder to bid adieu when you're a popular 'UA-cam star'. It's hard to leave the limelight. I laud your integrity. Thank you for all you've done for us. It's great that you'll get more family time, can invest in your career, and read worthwhile tomes. I encourage you to read and meditate on the Good Book. I've never read it, however I've been reading some cultural books that talk about the meaning behind those stories in the impact they've had on us to this day. It sounds like it's going to be a tough task and I may need to learn some Latin. But I think it would be good for me

It's crazy to look back at some of my first videos and then some of my most recent videos and see the progress I made and everything I learned along the way. It's been a lot of fun and I really enjoyed it. It's unfortunate that It has become a chore or something unpleasant because of the game itself

I think the thing that helped me is I got so busy that it was easy to occupy my mind with other things as I let top war fall lower and lower on my priority list. After a couple weeks of not playing I didn't even have the urge to do so and instead of having any positive thoughts about the game I just remembered all the things I hated about it. It made it pretty easy to walk away however the UA-cam and the community aspect that was tough to walk away from

I play TopWar since almost 2 years without spending a dime. From the start it sounded like a insanely-PayToWin game where it can only be appreciated as a bound-to-lose time-waster. I'm sorry to everybody that spent money as it's one of the few games that I know where even spenders are considered expendable. Only other that I know are some Minecraft servers.
I feel the same way, I have to spend a bunch just to keep up. I play sometimes up to 8 hours but cannot get some of the basic skins or heroes without spending. There isn't much strategy in that except to spend at least $5 a day. It isn't about who is the best player, but who has the largest disposable income.
I’m sorry to see you go. I got depressed because I realised I’d never catch up and I’d always be behind the curve. There’s always a new hero, skin and March queue to spend money on. The only reason I was playing for the longest time was because of UA-cam and my enjoyment from interacting with the community. But it's gotten to the point where just trying to figure out a mechanic makes me angry cause I don't want to play the game. It would be nice to find a new good game. I really appreciate this video. Ive been feeling the same way myself. I'm probably top 10 on my server and lots of us headed for the exit ramp. Another hero every 2-3 weeks is ridiculous.
I'm always looking for a phone game to fill the time when I can't be at home and I'm never happy with the phone games I find whether they're paid or not. So I started reading about psychology, self-help, history, culture. It has made all the difference and I think it's making me a better person. I'm happy to kick phone games 😁

On a minor point, I also play a game called King's Throne, there's an interesting hero structure, but it's so much more unstable than TopWar. In my limited experience they aren't that bad for bugs.

I think I might actually take a break from games or at least phone games for a while. When I would normally play a phone game I've started reading instead. I've gotten some books that I think would make me a better person. I'll still play some games at home but I think I might take my UA-cam content in a direction other than video games.

@@WGtopwar I have been lucky and found myself on a server with a close knit group that has whittled down through attrition and time. Only around 100 active players total with no drama at all and no pressure to "buy to win". We win most WoO matches and are around 33% with SvS victories. Still fun for me ... I imagine the pressures for you were much greater. Good luck ... find us a new game :)

Specifically UA-cam… your videos are so solidly structured, to the point, yet extremely informative! Most other UA-camrs either have an accent that is hard to easily understand, or they just ramble on needlessly. I enjoyed every video of yours that I watched (and that’s a lot of them, if not most), but your hero spotlights will be missed most by me. It still blows me away how you could break down all of a hero’s attributes just a day or two after release. I will miss that and everything else you have done so much! Those hero spotlights were always tough. And I would always get comments telling me I need to hurry up. At least half of the time new information about the hero That's critical would come out and because I took my time I was able to speak to it. I feel ya man. I joined Top War when I was in the hospital as to have something to do to get use of my hands. It quickly became great for me. At that time I was free to play. After a while I became free to play just to get the edge in the game. Now a year later I’m also left with paying for everything. It is very true you can’t get any further without buying more things when never ends. Now I’m too feeling bored and want to stop for all the problems I’ve come to realize. Not sure how much longer I’m going to be here also. I’ve met great people here and I’m sure my next game I play I’ll meet some more. Thanks to you Wannabe!

Piedmont was the best event they ever put out and nothing came close to it. He may not have been a great hero but the event itself was amazing. For now I'll be taking a break from content but I'm not sure what I'll be doing next. I'm leaning towards staying away from video games because when I try to improve my life I play video games less because of the time they take. I might do videos on HVAC which is my new career I'll be starting the job soon or maybe homesteading. Me and my wife plan on buying a piece of land in the future. I want to do content on something that if I studied it as much as I did top war it would make my life better not just my content better
I just play to be around friends. Stopped spending a few months ago aside from the monthly pass. TW power is 25% getting to lvl 80, 25% grindable free upgrades (that take years), and 50% pay to win. Funny thing is, the 25% grindable free is where a lot of money is made because people are impatient.
I'm glad I was able to help. But I would definitely recommend quitting. I feel a lot better now that I have. I stopped about 2 weeks ago and I've got so much more time and I don't feel stressed about being chained to my phone trying to hit every little event

I must admit that top war is relatively new and they exaggerate the number of commanders that come out instead of improving the ones that are already there. your channel is great and as you explain better I hope you come back not only for this game but for another I assure you that it will go well for you because they do everything well.
I think top one knows that they're losing old players instead just focuses on marketing for new ones. Rinse and repeat until no one joins the game or it completely dies then they'll just slap a new skin on it and call it a new game and do it all over again. I have quit Top War about two weeks ago as well. For exact same reason but from a different perspective. I grinded daily to be level 80 in my server and only spend 99 cents on the game. The amount of belittling from whales on daily bases, constantly making fun of not able to afford VIP higher than 1 was rather surprising. Players spend over $10,000 to rule a server, bullying others, clearly wishing other players real life death and other very unfortunate statements. Yet Top War will not do anything about it as they see them as good paying customers and let them do whatever they want.
Man, I'm so glad you've put into words what a lot of us who've been around a while have been feeling. It's hard to walk away when you've quite literally invested so much in something, and I'll miss the hell out of your thoughtful and entertaining insight. Good luck out there, and thanks for all the great help you've given us.

I definitely noticed some of my recent videos suffering because I just didn't have it in me anymore to do it. I definitely put a lot of thought into this before deciding to quit. The game is designed to rope in 1000 new players on each new server, hope a handful of players will dump in thousands in spending, and one or two will dump in tens of thousands. Then let those whales eat the other 900 players until server merger, and do the best to keep feeding those remaining whales until critical attrition of the player base. The cycle is repeated over and over, as player retention is never part of the business model.
That's why the deceptive ads, so they can rope in as much new players as possible. Even if the new players don't spend money, they will function as food for the new whales.

Donors don't pay for privileges, they pay for being put against *opponents who didn't pay*.
If everybody was paying the same, p2w games would get very boring.

As a F2P, Found your videos very informative and with your tips saw my performance improve but always felt the delta with money that the developers want to make. I can afford all the $$ but took pride in grinding in through and am still vip0 player.

I started playing top war around March 2021 when I lost my job. I’ve met so many good people on that game and we tried to make things work with the game. The game was getting progressively worse and pay 2 win and I was no longer interested in spending anymore time on the game.
The only thing that kept me on was the friends I made, but ever since our server started dying it made no sense to continue. I stopped playing around June 2022 and I’ve never been happier with my life.
I’m so glad you’re doing better things for yourself! I still keep getting those fake top war ads on Tik tok and it’s frustrating because I keep telling the algorithm that I’m not interested in those ads.
Not surprised that they have a company policy, they’re probably worried that once people see game play nobody would be interested in it.

Unfortunately, this game has the same type of life cycle as the likes of “Game of war” “World war rising” “Mobile strike” and “Final Fantasy” - pay to win structure that escalates till it simply dies out from fatigue of just “trying to keep up”.

That's true, spending less and less time these days in the game
They do nothing about the blatant breaking of TOS by players who are VIP 10 and over. They wont fix the issues with server transfers, or the 60+ players who are sneaking into servers, taking them over and then holding all the EL rewards to themselves. They haven't listened to anyone in the community about wanted things or changes to make the game better. I left 08/27/22 and will not be back. I've played for a year, 100% F2P. Not even Diana. I've enjoyed it, especially at first, but it's mostly repetitive and boring after you get your Valhallas and perk your heroes. There's nothing left. You can't move up without dropping cash (or the bored whales drop out). There's no strategy. It's just grinding it out like a lab rat chasing the bits of cheese.
I applaud your decision. It's even harder to bid adieu when you're a popular 'UA-cam star'. It's hard to leave the limelight. I laud your integrity.

I've never read it, however I've been reading some cultural books that talk about the meaning behind those stories in the impact they've had on us to this day. I plan on getting the King James version and reading it cover to cover. And once I've done that I plan on reading the older version Douay-Rheims Bible. It sounds like it's going to be a tough task and I may need to learn some Latin. But I think it would be good for me

It's crazy to look back at some of my first videos and then some of my most recent videos and see the progress I made and everything I learned along the way. I think the thing that helped me is I got so busy that it was easy to occupy my mind with other things as I let top war fall lower and lower on my priority list. After a couple weeks of not playing I didn't even have the urge to do so and instead of having any positive thoughts about the game I just remembered all the things I hated about it. It made it pretty easy to walk away however the UA-cam and the community aspect that was tough to walk away from

From the start it sounded like a insanely-PayToWin game where it can only be appreciated as a bound-to-lose time-waster.
I'm sorry to everybody that spent money as it's one of the few games that I know where even spenders are considered expendable. Only other that I know are some Minecraft servers.

I feel the same way, I have to spend a bunch just to keep up. I play sometimes up to 8 hours but cannot get some of the basic skins or heroes without spending. There isn't much strategy in that except to spend at least $5 a day. It isn't about who is the best player, but who has the largest disposable income.

The only reason I was playing for the longest time was because of UA-cam and my enjoyment from interacting with the community. But it's gotten to the point where just trying to figure out a mechanic makes me angry cause I don't want to play the game. It would be nice to find a new good game. I really appreciate this video. Ive been feeling the same way myself. I'm probably top 10 on my server and lots of us headed for the exit ramp. Another hero every 2-3 weeks is ridiculous.

I'm always looking for a phone game to fill the time when I can't be at home and I'm never happy with the phone games I find whether they're paid or not. So I started reading about psychology, self-help, history, culture. It has made all the difference and I think it's making me a better person. I'm happy to kick phone games 😁

I've got a few targets to meet with my own account, but the other people in my alliance is what keeps me playing, not the game itself.
On a minor point, I also play a game called King's Throne, there's an interesting hero structure, but it's so much more unstable than TopWar. In my limited experience they aren't that bad for bugs.

I think I might actually take a break from games or at least phone games for a while. When I would normally play a phone game I've started reading instead. I've gotten some books that I think would make me a better person. I'll still play some games at home but I think I might take my UA-cam content in a direction other than video games.

@@WGtopwar I have been lucky and found myself on a server with a close knit group that has whittled down through attrition and time. Only around 100 active players total with no drama at all and no pressure to "buy to win". We win most WoO matches and are around 33% with SvS victories. Still fun for me ... I imagine the pressures for you were much greater. Good luck ... find us a new game :)

Man, I was so sad to see this video! You have always been far and away my #1 source of TW news and info, mostly here on UA-cam, but on discord as well. Specifically UA-cam… your videos are so solidly structured, to the point, yet extremely informative! Most other UA-camrs either have an accent that is hard to easily understand, or they just ramble on needlessly. I enjoyed every video of yours that I watched (and that’s a lot of them, if not most), but your hero spotlights will be missed most by me. It still blows me away how you could break down all of a hero’s attributes just a day or two after release. I will miss that and everything else you have done so much! Those hero spotlights were always tough. And I would always get comments telling me I need to hurry up. At least half of the time new information about the hero That's critical would come out and because I took my time I was able to speak to it.

I feel ya man. I joined Top War when I was in the hospital as to have something to do to get use of my hands. It quickly became great for me. At that time I was free to play. After a while I became free to play just to get the edge in the game. Now a year later I’m also left with paying for everything. It is very true you can’t get any further without buying more things when never ends. Now I’m too feeling bored and want to stop for all the problems I’ve come to realize. Not sure how much longer I’m going to be here also. I’ve met great people here and I’m sure my next game I play I’ll meet some more. Thanks to you Wannabe!
Could not recommend walking away enough. I stopped about 2 weeks ago and I'm much happier for it. I'm happy that I decided to take the leap

I quit the game quite some time ago because i spent a huge amount of money and still hadn't a Chance against others on my Server. Played it for 1,5 years or so.

Por más que intento no logro tener un nivel alto, siendo un nivel 80 el poder de mi tropa es insignificante comparado con otros, he tenido amigos del juego que no conozco en la vida real como Brandon, Rotti hasta tú que me ayudaron bastante a usar los componentes y habilidades correctas. También he comprado una que otra en el juego para mejorar un poco mas pero aún así cualquier con mucho dinero sobre pasan todo lo que he logrado en meses.

i quit about a month ago, after spending thousands upon thousands of dollars…. Just to keep up. Or at least try. It was no longer a game of strategy but a game of pay to play to win. Good luck in your future endeavors and know that your time and energy were appreciated ❤️

Going on at reset is a chore now… honestly i wouldn’t mind if they just redid the piedmont event it had decent rewards for ftp and ptp

Piedmont was the best event they ever put out and nothing came close to it. He may not have been a great hero but the event itself was amazing.
For now I'll be taking a break from content but I'm not sure what I'll be doing next. I'm leaning towards staying away from video games because when I try to improve my life I play video games less because of the time they take. I might do videos on HVAC which is my new career I'll be starting the job soon or maybe homesteading. Me and my wife plan on buying a piece of land in the future. I want to do content on something that if I studied it as much as I did top war it would make my life better not just my content better

I just play to be around friends. Stopped spending a few months ago aside from the monthly pass. TW power is 25% getting to lvl 80, 25% grindable free upgrades (that take years), and 50% pay to win. Funny thing is, the 25% grindable free is where a lot of money is made because people are impatient.
I think they make this game intentionally boring so people spend money. It's a good business strategy I suppose but I still don't like it

friend all games are like this sooner or later, always put money. I must admit that top war is relatively new and they exaggerate the number of commanders that come out instead of improving the ones that are already there. your channel is great and as you explain better I hope you come back not only for this game but for another I assure you that it will go well for you because they do everything well.
I think top one knows that they're losing old players instead just focuses on marketing for new ones. Rinse and repeat until no one joins the game or it completely dies then they'll just slap a new skin on it and call it a new game and do it all over again.

@@WGtopwar all games are like this when they are successful. first they think about the money and when they dilute it they start thinking about the players. example like resident evil, age of empire, clash royal, etc, etc. This game has a lot of potential to be able to enjoy it since it has many ways to have a greater strategy. successes friend I hope you meet your goals and if you like making videos I hope that in the future you will come back explaining new or old games and I understand you it gives courage as a good game bores if it were fun it would be worth spending it but that is boring.
