I invited my friends came over for lunch today, I had a duck in my freezer, so I looked for a recipe and I found you, step by step I followed, it tasted so good and my friends thought I bought it until I told them I learned from your channel, thank you so much😄
Bold claims there at the beginning. 🤭 I had a buddy at work in Minneapolis who was born and raised in Shandong. We found a local restaurant that did a duck braised with mushrooms and ginger. We both loved that dish. I love duck just about any way you can make it, but diving into that particular dish when it was about 400 degrees below zero outside in the middle of a Minnesota winter was an indescribable experience. Thanks for sharing this recipe. 👍🏻
Off the top of our heads, there's not many truly "Longdu" recipes since they share too many similarities with other dialects/styles cuisine. We are however still tinkering some kinks with a Longdu-ish-Zhongshan recipe before it gets filmed (has to be perfect and replicable!). Maybe that could scratch your itch.
@9:08 - "Set it aside for later" is referring to the braising liquid, you can throw away that duck fat XD

Thank you for sharing. It turned out great. We credit your mother for the recipe....

Would love to see more Longdu recipe videos! My mom’s side is Longdu, but I’ve never learned any specific recipes from this region. Great stuff!

What recipe has been in your family for generations?
Wow yummy food Connected......

I wonder if we are related. I can speak the Long Du dialect and was born in Australia. Surname is Ko, as in 高
It would be a small world! But I do not have any family ties to anyone with the surname Ko.
