One of the best instructional video on Sor, or any other composer, I’ve seen to date.
🙏
Loved your performance of Sor's Andante Largo! Your tips were super helpful. It reminded me of a masterclass I attended with Jorge Caballero here in Brazil on this very piece - your comments and observations were quite similar. Videos like this are so important and have inspired me to think about restarting my own UA-cam channel. Keep up the great work!
Thanks 👍🙏
sor at his best
A fine composer!
Elegant and graceful totally describes this lovely piece. Beautifully played as always. 🙏👏😘
Thanks 👍
A lot of great stuff here. Attention to detail, interpretation, fingering choices, everything well explained and played. Very inspiring. Thanks again for these kinds of videos.
Thanks for watching 👍😊
I love these in depth lessons you are offering! Great selections, and incredibly practical help. I’d love to hear one on some Barrios (Pais de Abanico?).
Thanks. I may do Julia Florida soon. 😊
Great! That would definitely be a more popular choice.
Very enjoyable and informative David , excellent video ,I do love this piece a lot and think I could be able to manage it , especially when it’s not a very fast one ,
As for suggestions for other such videos , capricho Catalan by Albeniz is one my favourites too
It's playable! I'll try to get through lots of repertoire. I'm planning to do 10 and then see if people like them!
Thank you David, beautiful music and beautifully played 🥰😊🍷😎
Thanks for watching the channel regularly!
Excellent. Thanks
🙏
Interesting choices regarding when and when not to slur during the legato passages. I wonder how you make those decisions. Nice interpretation, thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching 👍😊🙏
Very elegantly and movingly played. Beautiful. Thank you for sharing this with us.
Thanks Edna!👍
Hello David. I’m currently working on this “sleeper” piece by Sor. I discovered this video just now and am delighted that I can hear and watch your take on this sublime piece of music.
That's great! I hope one or two of my ideas are useful to you. 👍
@@davidjaggs😊 many ideas have been quite helpful, thank you
Elegant and graceful are good ways to describe the piece and your interpretation. Very nice!
Thanks for watching 👍
Wonderful !
🙏
That's great!!
Thanks 👍😊
Beautifully played - these videos are of superb value and quality.
Thanks for watching... Still!!
Marvelous.
🙏
good work
🙏😊
Excellent 👌
👍🙏😊
Wonderfully played and interpreted and explained. Sor is smiling to see someone pay tribute to his wife. Thanks for the FREE PDF!
As for strings, are those really EJ45's on a Hauser? (the trebles seem bright, but that it might be that the bass are subdued or my hearing is not so good🤔) Not mixed tension Knoboch EDC 34?
They are, apart from the g which is carbon.😊
Thanks very much, David! I also like your video set up. Is it just a type of black background?
I shouldn't really give away my secrets, but it's a black king sized bed sheet!🤣my friend is a photographer and he told me how to light it to get that effect.
Hahaha. Thanks again, David. It all makes for a beautiful video!
👍👍👍👍
🙏
luckily I have GV Rubio torres guitar, so stretching may be less of a problem...
Nice!
So appreciate this; thank you! Btw: who is the luthier of your guitar?
Thanks for watching. It's Hauser II. Here's a film about it, ua-cam.com/video/FbqijG-ydAY/v-deo.html
@@davidjaggs thank you! Yes! Thought so. I've seen the link and watched it again! One can dream 😴
Hello David, in Marche du Ballet de Cendrillon by Fernando Sor there's an A major arpeggio run toward the end of the piece. It's played 3 times. Can you suggest a fingering for it? Thanks.
Send me a link to the score and I'll take a look 🙂
is 6 th string tuned to D?
Yes, it is!
