  • Critical thinking channel for those who believe that more critical thinking would make the world a much better place. Easy to understand practical critical thinking tips, conversations with the best critical thinking experts and amazing stories of how critical thinking was applied or failed to be applied and what results that had.
    More about Practical Critical Thinkers:
Hi, my name is Rokas Leonavicius. For years I used to have a lack of critical thinking myself. I used to believe many things which had little evidence or truth behind them. These beliefs led me to decisions which did not turn out to my favor. Eventually I discovered critical thinking and changed my life for the better. Now I choose what I believe in with much more care. Make better, more informed decisions and enjoy the results. Yet it doesn’t take much time to see that many people still fail to separate true information from false. That’s why I created the Critical Thinkers channel.
If you are looking for a critical thinking channel - look no more and let's create a culture of practical thinking together!

Hi! If you are watching this trailer it means you are one of the first in the world to see it! It's been a whole journey getting to this point, decision and trailer. As you can see now I decided to land on a subject that I sincerely believe may have positive impact on the world. That is: the spread of Critical Thinking. I will soon share more details about the story of how I got to this decision and what exactly I am planning to do, but this is the start :) Looking forward to spread critical thinking together with you!
    Sincerely,
    Rokas

Rokas, I am definitely all in on this. I think it's the right decision for you. Over time I would like to see more original footage and less stock footage because you are an original yourself. Looking forward to this journey.

Thanks Daryl! I really appreciate the support and feedback. It's really encouraging for me that you are saying I should create some original footage too. I actually received a similar suggestion recently and thought a lot about it. Your comment is bringing me to an even more firm decision now. You can be sure more original content/footage on this channel will come soon :)

I think Thomas Frank can teach you a couple things about footage. It's been a sometime theme of his channel.

Hi Rokas, I strongly recommend the following book:
Mortimer Adler: How to read a book
It helps reading any kind of book (literature, philosophy, even science and mathematics) in a critical way and teaches a methodology for doing so

Hi Rokas! I use to follow your Martial Arts Journey channel. Congratulations on this new initiative. Coincidentally, I just added a comment on one of your Martial Arts Journey's video ("Why I Closed my Aikido Dojo") that has a lot to do with the theme of this new channel. Anyway, I would like to recommend a topic very related to "critical thinking" which is "Theory of Actions" and "Double-loop learning". Take a look at it on this brief overview on author Chris Argyris and his research work at: infed.org/mobi/chris-argyris-theories-of-action-double-loop-learning-and-organizational-learning/. Best regards!

Oj you rebranded! I noticed this new channel but didn't realize it was you and i passed by the last few videos!

No worries, it's my bad! I've made a clear decision to rebrand but up until now didn't include everyone else into it. My plan was to first make some examples on where I'm heading to next and today I am finally ready to announce my what and why :)

How are you gonna market critical thinking? If you're going for the Stefan Molyneux route, you should be well versed in logic, philosophy etc.

Well, I have to start somewhere :) For me this is still a journey. One where I will be doing my best to be useful and to grow together with my audience. I will currently continue to use my UA-cam skills to create the best possible content that people would benefit from and enjoy watching it at the same time. I will start with videos which I find accessible yet valuable. And with time I will grow and will continue offering better and better videos and information. Right now I'm not trying to invent anything one way or another. I am simply trying to be a messenger for minds which are great already and for stories which were already told :)

So, how would you apply critical thinking to some martial arts’ postulate about existence of Ki energy? Following your checklist you would probably come to a conclusion that Ki doesn’t exist, but then at the same time you would be able to successfully counter this assertion by the fact that we may simply don’t know the absolute truth because our science is not advanced enough to discover it. So maybe 100 years from now scientists will successfully prove the existence of Ki and will be making jokes about people who denied something so “obvious” 100 years earlier. What would you tell people who are trying to find their Ki today? Stop looking because it doesn’t exist according to critical thinking? Or keep doing what you are doing because, who knows, you might be into something? Interesting dilemma, isn’t it?

It definitely is an interesting dilemma and one which I was thinking about lately too. I'm actually planning to make a video on the subject soon on Martial Arts Journey about it :)
