"I will tell a lie" is also suitable for the 6th one, because he's neither telling the truth nor the lie, first thing that came to my head was the pinocchio paradox
What’s the Pinocchio paradox?
If Pinocchio tells people that his nose grows when he tells the truth, no one will know when he’s lying
@@connercoughran4677 ooooh
Would "I am dying" count? Technically, we are all drawing closer to death, yet we do not consider this dying. Only when our health fades do we feel that "I am dying.". It is a literal truth, but not an accepted truth (thus a lie?).
And what about "soldiers save lives.". They save the lives of their countrymen, but take the lives of their enemies."
And my favorite. "God created everything." So, did he create himself? It is impossible to know if that is a lie or a truth.
"I will tell a lie" is a true statement
The paradox would be "I am lying"
Btw, the more suitable answer for the 2nd question is the door. Cuz without it how do you get it. While window in pretty important. I have seen houses without window, but never once without door.
Bean Oak Same.
My answer was the Foundation, a house has to have one and it's not inside or out, it's under.
@@allnate77 some houses don't have foundations
Most houses have doors inside.
Don’t worry guys I’m the stupid one here, I said the house itself lol.
I think A Secret is also an answer to number 5, because it is delicate and when mentioned, the secret is no longer a secret which causes it to "break"
"I have a secret"
The secret is mentioned but not revealed
But if it's silence, you dont really have to mention it to break it, you can make any noise to break it.
What if you tell the secret to someone that is supposed to be in on it? It’s still a secret, and isn’t broken!
bro I said the McDonald’s ice cream machine 💀
And also a promise
"Every single person died. Who survived?"
Me: "The cat."
The couple😂
Wtf is married 😂😂😂
The person revived from brain death.
Father's only sister may have another brother, whose wife is also her sister-in-law but not your mother. She would be your aunt-in-law. Her husband's sister is also her sister-in-law. 😃

Also, my father has an only sister. She's married. Her husband's sister would also be her sister-in-law. That woman would be nothing to me.
Yes true
@@purselmer5931 you could say she is your uncle's sister

Nope he had to answer and he say "you will hang me"if they hanged hin that means he said true so they have to shoot him ,if they shoot him that means he lied so they have to hang him that will put them in dielamma so they will leave him....
@@swethakommulasiri9691 I don't understand
There are quite a lot of answers to all of these questions. But for the last one, I think that it doesn't necessarily have to do with a "noncontradicting" statement . It could simply be phrases like "Hi. How are you doing? Who are you?" because they hold no truth/lie. It is simply a statement/question with no base.
I thought the answer was: a joke. Because that’s also neither a lie or the truth.
@@Nadia-ox1kf That also works, because jokes don’t exactly have a truth or lie value. It can be *based* on correct/incorrect things, but that does not matter because it’s apart of the joke.
@@ay3btch468 I thought silence 😅
@@subarunatsuki1902 Silence could just prolong their time until said “death.” That really depends, so I personally don’t think it’ll work.
@@ay3btch468 Yes, it depends. The question and the situation were very vaguely explained anyway. Probably to let the readers roam freely.
For number 2, my answer was "A house"
Now you might say that's stupid but hear me out, the reason why I thought that was because I'm VERY familiar with word play and the last part states that "a necessity for any home?", keyword: Home, not house, HOME, it got me wondering why the change of words
In technical terms, a home means a place where a person/people lives in, and on the other side, a house is a BUILDING where a person/people lives, yes they're synonymous but they're not technically the same
And what made me convinced that my answer was "House" is because a house is definitely a necessity for every home (but not everyone could afford it, hence why there are homeless people)
... Sorry if that doesn't make sense... I'm not really good at explaining my logic and thought process... I know that by experience
You have a logic
That's correct, actually.
"You will not shoot me" is legit answer, also.
Also, walls are not inside nor outside the house. Actually anything that is considered perimeter of the house.
doors and windows was my answer. walls have inner side and outer side.
For the last part, he could have asked a question instead or remained silent, right?
@@iranianintelligenceagency9337 but you know, if you don't answer it means you are hiding something from them. So they might just punish you anyways
@@enigmatic3194 Well, then they break the condition they made. If you say, you will not shoot me, they'll probably just say "Smart guy... let's shoot him anyways"🤷♂️
No it creates a paradox. If he get hanged, he said the truth. If he gets shot, he said a lie

6.a.any mathematical ambiguous
b. any sentence whose truth cannot be discovered (I ate chicken on 23March last year)
c.self paradoxical sentence (from Godel's incompleteness theorem)
d. Staying silent and not making any statements
Any of the following is a valid response
The answer to 6th question seems pretty absurd. REASON- It's not given whether it's a confession or a death wish. So if the prisoner were to say "YOU WILL HANG ME", it pretty much looks like a death wish, meanwhile he has been asked to confess there. Plus, according to the question, we can clearly equate that the judgement will be taken after he says something, so obviously using common sense we can see that he has been clearly asked to confess the crime he committed, not a death wish.
Question is taken like his fate will depend on his answer.
You have only 10 sec to answer this question...

If you're 1% leverage, the level of economic collapse for you to lose everything would be a literal apocalypse. If you're 300% leverage, it's really easy to lose everything. Therefore, there is a amount of debts between 1% and 300% leverage where you'll never get screwed.

Question 3: Could be your uncle's wife, because it clearly said 'your father's only sister' not 'your father's only sibling'.

Another possibility is that your father's only sister could be married to a man who himself has a sister.

Yeah, they really skewed the porch on that one.
Other people gave even more possibilities, like step mother.
2:08 "If you tell a lie we will hang you" does not imply that if you don't tell a lie they won't hang you. So if you say "You will hang me" that could be true and they could both hang you and shoot you (that they will hang you does not imply that they won't also shoot you). There's a lot that's left implicit in these questions that should be stated explicitly in order for the logic to work.

I was first introduced to a self contradictory statement for the first time in CSc, specifically, "This statement is false". Such a statement is clearly illogical, but the logical always includes the illogical. If truth were not, could there possibly be truth to the notion of

@@ryankelly9032 Some self-contradictory statements are not so self-evident and the statement you have made is one such. Thank you.
In the prisoner riddle, anything the prisoner says will be either a lie or the truth with an exception being the statement, “you will hang me”. This statement is either true or false. But it can’t be true because he’s been told he’ll be shot for telling the truth, not hanged. So, baked into his statement is a lie; if they hang him, they will make his statement true but their own statement false because they claimed he’d be shot for telling the truth. The same idea would apply inversely if the prisoner declared, “I will be shot”.

Number 2 is a doorbell bc A doorbell is neither inside the house nor outside the house, but it's a necessity for any home. It's typically mounted on the exterior wall but serves the purpose of alerting residents to visitors who may be outside the house.
For the sixth question, the prisoner didn't save himself, because a prediction that turns out to be wrong is not a lie. A statement is only a lie if the person making it knows that it is false at the time they made the statement.
the prisoner could say "I am lying" , if he said that then he's lying about lying, so he's telling the truth, but then he's lying about lying etc etc (classical problem for classical logic, the law of noncontradiction); which should've saved his life
"Everything I say is a lie"
That's been used as a logic bomb and/or a puzzle answer many times in fiction from Dr. Who to Star Trek.
He could also stall for time.
"I will be hit by a meteorite when I am 95 years old."
But if he contradicts himself twice by lying, then he is telling the truth. Two negatives make it affirmative.
1:27 that actually caught me off guard. Didn't expect that
i mean everyone who wasnt in the plane survived
Was pretty terrible, just a cheap play on words
The original question was “There was a plane crash and every single person died, yet there were two people alive. Why?” They just wrote it wrong and gave too little info
my answer was "it's either nobody or couples"
@@dudono1744 my was couples
1. A "moment" actually is a span of time. So someone can be born in the same moment but 90 seconds apart and be the difference between midnight and 11:59pm.
2. Wouldn't the windows be both inside and outside not neither? Psr is in and part is out. You could also say the same thing against walls or doors, no?
4. you don't have to be married to not be single. Also when you go on rides, you might here people ask for any single riders. Many people have partner they go in a plane with. Asong as you fit any definition of "single" it makes the statement false single they didn't specify and the vagueness if the original statement is what is supposed to make the riddle interesting
6. Can't the prisoner just not say anything? There are also other possibilities if he does have to make one statement such as, when I am released I will x. He has to be released before they can tell if that is true or not. If he is released then they don't have the power to kill him. If a prisoner for life he can say something about when he turns x amount of years. They have to wait until he turns that age. If it is an old age that he won't reach or by that time it would t matter to him it would also work out
If Q3 was basically a ‘quirk of grammar’, and depends upon how the sentence is read out, I’d argue that Q6 is a statement and not a question.
3rd question should've been, "father's sister's only sister in law" not father's only sister's sister in law.
Yeah
@Panda if it was polygamy it could be wrong but you are also right cause in most countries that won't work. Kinda like the time zone thing lol
@Panda I would accept this but only if you could provide a proper explaination for the same. Thank you.
Explaination: Let's consider my father have 1 brother then my paternal aunt (wife of my father's brother) would also be my father's only sister's sister in law. In that case "mother" is not the only answer. But for the answer to be "mother" my father's sister should've only 1 sister in law. I exist in this world because of my mother so automatically, my father's sister's only sister sister in law is my mother.

The answer of the second question should be Door.
Because the Door is more important than a Window!
Wall
@@sarahkubagenda9864 bric
There could be doors inside the house as well.
1:57 only got this right without pausing and thinking so much lol
The first question didn't define "moment"; TWINS may have different birthdays.
A "moment" is an old time unit, equal to about 15 minutes, so you're right.
Yea, technically it's possible to be in different time zones and still have the same birthday. I thought the international date line would come into play. Brain tired
After time zones were invented, 2 children are born in the same second, in the middle of the day. They do not have the same birthday. Take as much *time* as you need for this one!
For question two,I had two thoughts:
1) the answer is “the foundation” and
2) despite the picture shown, windows aren’t a “necessity”
windows are also inside and outside
I'm a word person and watch out for tricky questions. The only one I struggled with was about the house. I answered roof, but thought maybe it's windows. I had to ponder the prisoner question even after seeing the answer. My best answer for the prisoner is "nothing."
Rite me too.
I'm thrilled by the in-depth discussion in this piece. A book with congruent topics broadened my understanding. "Game Theory and the Pursuit of Algorithmic Fairness" by Jack Frostwell
1:26 That every single person died does not imply or entail that the married people survived.
The prisoner says, "I'm a liar". So if he's lying, he said the truth and if what he said is true then he is admitting to the fact that he's a liar. Hence, leaving the person asking this question in a state of confusion!
So they will shoot and even hang the prisoner at the same time.
Both conditions will be fulfilled.
Your thinking makes me remember my father in law. That’s exactly how he thought. Just kinda funny reading this. He passed away 20 years ago but I still remember that he even talked like that.
If he says 'I am liar' and if he really is a liar won't he just be shot cause even if he is a liar his every statement doesn't have to be a lie. So since he spoke a true statement he would be shot.
@@akshit8201 Assume that his statement is true, about him being a liar. Then he'll be shot to death as he spoke the truth. But being a liar, it is obvious that, not half but most of his statements would be false indicating that he could've lied as well. So if the statement was a lie, he'll be hanged. But the prisoner must be punished with only one method. And now, the one who has to drop down the axe needs to sit down and think for eternity as this statement will execute two scenarios simultaneously. Also, if he's hanged and shot at the same time based on this statement, then the conditions contradicts itself and collide with each other.
Read between the lines, they said if lie ,they will hang him,he said "you will hang me",in this if they hanged him ,what he said is truth, but for truth they have to shoot,if they considered it as lie then they have to hang him, again hanging him becomes truth ,bcoz what he is said is going to happen that's truth.
Simply lie =hang
Truth = shoot
You will hang me
If they hang him statment become truth for wich they have to shoot.
If it is lie they have to hang him ,
Hanging him makes Statement true .so they can't
Then he can also say you will shoot me

The prisoner can either keep quiet or ask a question
The prisoner said nothing to save himself😉
Nice teaching :) I believe Vidya Guru videos are also good to watch, their Vocab videos are just wow!
The sister in law one is wrong for two reasons.
1. Because the in law can be the spouse of your relative or the relative of your spouse.
2. It says your father's only sister, but it's not said if the sister has any brothers, in which case her sister in law could be any of the other brothers wives.
3. It could be the sibling of her own spouse.
Not enough information to say it is the mother. Could be various aunties.
2. Door. Need door to enter and exit the house. Windows are nice to have but no necessity. Or other answer and be walls.
Father's sister can have several sisters in law, from her husband's side.
2:24
Officer : so you choose to be hanged & shooted at the same time
Only if he tell a lie he should be hanged, if he tells truth he will be shot.

THE LAST ONE GOT ME THINKING FOR 2 HOURS STRAIGHT

The 6th one has a flaw in it that can still result in the prisoner dying which is the fact that the guard never said "we'll hang you dead....we'll shoot you dead," because then the prisoner can say what he said since you can't kill a person twice after dying the first time; however, since it's a less restrive question, the guard can just hang the guy and shoot him in the leg afterwards if that makes sense to anyone.
Windows are inside the house on one side of the windows and outside the house on the other side.
The plane-crash question was based on a pun, not logical reasoning.

A liar doesn't have to always lie
What is so delicate that even mentioning it breaks it?

For the last one,I would suggest asking a general question, cause normally questions are not considered either true or false.
The third is not necessarily true. The sister (your aunt) could be married and her husband's sister would also be her sister in law...and essentially nothing to you. It all depends on whether the questions is claiming that the sister has only one sister in law. It all depends on whether "only" is describing the only sister, or the only sister in law.
Last one: “You will not shoot me,” is another valid response.
Guard: "That's a lie. Hang 'im, boys heheh"
The guards can say that it's a lie, hang him for the lie and shoot him to justify that's a lie. The same idea can be applied to "You will hang me", the guards can say that's true, hang him, and shoot him for having told the truth. To be fair it should be "we will hang you and not shoot you" and "we will shoot you and not hang you".
@@radrno7if the statement "you will not shoot me" is a lie then you'd actually have to shoot him. Which is the consequence for telling the truth. If "you will not shoot me" is the truth then you can't actually shoot him.
The last question : answer :- he has to say 2 lies
In the question it is stated that "if u tell a lie we will hang u" ..in this statement there is "a lie"
By saying 2 lies , he will not be hanged because if he is saying only one lie then only he will be hanged ,, and he didnt said a truth so he will not be shot
So he will be free
Whats ur oppinion about this

#6 - another appropriate answer would be "nothing" as death is triggered by the speech of the prisoner but the statement does not require that he speak
Hello everyone. My friend Howard helped me move, but after the expense of the U-haul truck, U-storage, etc., I could only pay him later. Right now I still owe him $100. He's a plant enthusiast and I've been paying him back mostly with barter (plants, pots and plant stands) that I find at flea markets, etc. Yesterday I got several (pretty neglected) bonsai trees at a house clean out. There's a Japanese restaurant that just opened up here and I know the owner, who I think would pay full price. I told Howard about the plants, because I don't know their value. I told him if he told me the value, I would give him half of the proceeds up to $100. And that if the restaurant owner doesn't buy them, he can have them for half that price as barter, up to $100. So if he tells me too low a price so he himself can have them at half of that still, he risks that the restaurant owner will buy them. Is there a flaw in my logic?
"The truth is I am lying right now."
what about ""you will hang me""??
Prisoner: you will hang me
Jailer: That's a lie because I'm gonna order another jailer to hang you.
Note: the question said 'we' and not 'I'. So, there must be other jailers too.
Exact.. U notices it
What about "I will be hung" or even "y'all gonna hang me" then?
You can be used as plural too
You can be both singular and plural. So he can just he meant it as in you(all)
I’m not sure if windows make sense to the second question as then a lot of other things can be apt he answer as well, for exam the roof or the brick. I think a better answer can be owner. The house is kinda always owned by someone, individual or state. Some one must have built the house. Plus, the owner of the house might not be inside the house and we cannot see him/her outside the image so ;-; I think that makes sense. Let me know what you think!
1:07 either aunt or mom, u said father's only sister, hypothetically my father can have brother
The prisoner could have also said "ok" it's neither a lie nor the truth... 😅😅
If he says ok, that means he has accepted whatever they said. And if he just accepts it and doesn't retaliate back, it means he said the truth. So he'll be shot down .
Is everyone dumb? His response literally means. They can shoot him and then hang him
@@dank7044Okay isn't a statement that could be a truth or lie.
Me while thinking!
“Hurry up guy's the time is running that fckng disturb me from thinking”
for the last question: the paradox can be easily broken if we take foresight out of the equation.
in that given moment in time, when the criminal *said* he would be hanged, it was rather a supposition because the cops aren't NECESSARILY decided to hang him without a second thought, they either would or wouldn't based on what he says now, and since he said something that can be potentially true but can't be a lie(due to the lack of real knowledge), the logical solution is to use the guns
you can argue they can't shoot him because then he would be wrong and the right penalty is to hang him(hence the paradox), but that will only be entirely true *after* he is sentenced to get shot, in which time the execution has been prepared and there's no turning back anymore.
there's a simpler solution, in fact, the police is who really decides what will happen at the end of the day, they can change their mind and hang him and shot him before he suffocates, so he'll suffer both penalties for acting a smartass.
Lmao
if i was prisoner i would say nothing since eveything can be false and true.

3. Windows are inside the house. They are mounted to the frame, which sits inside the sheetrock. That the glass faces the outside does not mean that it is neither inside nor out. It is definitely in.
Except in the cases of framelass glass, or plexiglass partitions, a window does not extend past the exterior finish of the home. It is not flush with the stucco/siding/etc. It is a CH back because of how it's mounted.
Good try, but a riddle only works if factually true.
that fact that he keeps saying timer is running..pissess the shit out of me
Actually man
This is really good. I thoroughly enjoyed it.
Hey Your Profile Picture is the photo that I have in Gallery in my mother's phone
The plot thickens.
Well In the last question prisoner can also ask a question as asking a question will not be considered as a lie or truth and also the answer to the second question can be footing as it is neither outside nor inside it is below the house..
I think for the prison one, maybe something like "My favorite color is green" would work, because there is no way for them to tell if your lying or not?
Couldn’t focus and wasted like 4 seconds because of “Hurry up guys, the timer is running”
The first question's answer can also be like - the twins who have a few seconds of age difference
One of em was born on 31st Dec, 11:59
And the other one on 1 Jan, 12:00
Lol
Me after watching 1:30 : I'm not gonna travel on plane now
Did'nt know #6.
Thankfully though, I did'nt have to pause at all.
I LOVE tests like these.
However, I wish there had been more.
This was fun.
Thankyou!
🙄
🤔
:/ there's a way around the 6th though.. Shoot him. Then hang him. There was zero logic to any of these questions. Just some dumbass trying to be clever.
Cutting your own tongue out would have been the only logical reasoning to bypass this entire situation. As they can't have a lie or truth from you.? Or just a simple answer of "say nothing" not a pathetic way of being a somewhat paradox style situation. Because it has zero reason. Then people can shoot and hang. There's no order in which it has to be.
The questions are stupid, the video is only on here for views
if you use logical statemennts(Maths) , all the prisoner has to say its a sentence which is not a statement , anything that can not be defined by either true or false , eg "Release me " - this is not a statement and therefore can't be defined by true or false
A moment is a medieval unit for a minute when an hour was 40 minutes, so they could be born in the same moment (90 seconds), but on different dates for example they were both born between 23:59pm and 00:00:30am.
Police didn't even ask a question.
After the prisoner's statement, the police took him, hang him and shoot him while hanging😂😂
Yeah lol😂😂😂🤣🤣
Wtf 🤣🤣🤣🤣
The last one .
1)The prisoner gives his personal opinion. Opinions are not factual and therefore cannot be lies or truths.
2) The prisoner remains silent.
3) The prisoner sings supercalifragilisticexpialidocious
Keeping quiet IS NOT a viable option. “What did the prisoner SAY to save himself?” It has to be something; silence doesn’t adhere to the facts presented.
Please think about it (it may hurt your brain a little lol no joke it hurt mine). It’s an exercise in temporal logic. Pretty mind blowing really.
Nothing logical and intellectual about these questions. Dumb questions with even dumb answers.
Jawab ni de paye to bura laga?🤣🤣🤣
These questions tested sharpness and presence of mind. All were good except the last one. That was stupid.
@@ashishkumar4838 apko smj nhi aaya to stupid question bahut deep answer he iska har kisi ke bas ka nhi he
@@asifmohammad6086 itna complicated b ni h jo har kise k bas k bat na ho. It just doesn't make sense. Truth and lie can only be applied to past or present events. Not future. You will hang me applies to something that hasn't happened. That's the flaw. Statement is irrelevant.
More about word play than anything.
Sounds like someone was sore about not guessing the answers. 😁
Question 3: My father's only sister's sister-in-law could be my mother or simply nothing to me. How, or why? Because her husband's sister or sisters would be her sisters in law but nothing to me.
If your father has a sister-in-law, it’s your mother’s sister, therefore your aunt, and not ur mom. Unless ur father broke up with ur biological mom and married her sister/brother, then ur mom would be ur father’s sister-in-law.
@@s-king3635 Read and try to understand. I wrote about my father's only sister sister in law and not my father's sister in law. In any case, according to your account, what about his brother's wife, won't she be his sister-in-law also?
My fathers only sister has two more married brothers , those two sister in laws are aunts to me .
@@lethargicmotorsport2025 Yes, that's a possibility since the dictionary also defines aunt as the wife of one's uncle or aunt.
for the last one the prisoner could also say something that is neither true nor false, for example simply the word "banana". Or, alternatively, they could ask a question like what day it is
In answer six the executioner can both hang and shoot the condemned prisoner without breaking their word.
They never said they wouldn’t shoot him if he lied; they never said they wouldn’t hang him if he told the truth.
I answered all correctly except the window question. I'm in the construction industry and consider them inside the house.
