Grats on 1/4 million subs! I remember when you had a few thousand. Mine isn't even there yet...you deserve all the success sir. I look forward to seeing you again just now.
Excellent simple build. The cut sheet storage is a great idea. I would add a vertical block on the end of the cantilevers to prevent things from falling off. A simple block with one screw that can be twisted out of the way for access might save you a head ache.
I love your builds you always come up with great ideas. Hope your health is improving. Great to see you back but take it easy we will always be here supporting you
It's good system you have created for your small shop. It certainly seems to be functional for you and will allow a more efficient workflow. Well done!!
very clean and well done with your storage solutions, especially your ply wood off cuts. leaving the space underneath the plywood rack free was a good idea cause it lets you sift through all the pieces by picking up and placing down the ones on top without walking to a different area of the shop. some advice I can give for your roof rack, I've made bulk cantilever racks like the ones you made and something that's always made them difficult to work with is getting to the pieces at the bottom without everything falling down on me. in your case since you put it in the ceiling this makes it harder because you'll need to use a ladder/step stool to access requiring you to go up and down repeatedly to move the lumber at the top to get to the bottom/middle. for this I recommend adding more racking then necessary and leaving the new spots mostly empty so that when you're on the ladder, you can shimmy your boards from rack to rack and not have to walk down every time. of course this way still lacks in the way of safety but I'm not sure how you would fix that (maybe a project to make a safer step ladder) what I can say is putting some bungie cords in the rafters as well like with the plywood, is probably gonna save your head from injury in the near future
Having less storage space just means as you fill up, you know you need to start using what you have instead of buying more ;) Great project, and LOVE the gutter idea
What a great job of storing the lumber in a smapl space. I guess i will sooner or later need to use a variaty of this on my own garage Workshop. thank you for sharing!
I’m working out of a hundred year old chicken coupe so with the odd shaped roof and limited space, this video gave me some great ideas. I don’t know why I never thought of using rain gutters, that’s a huge help. Thanks for the great videos!
Really a great storage system. Especially the wall unit will find it's way into my small Workshops. Thanks for the inspiration in all of your videos!👍🏻🔝 Cheers from austria😊
I really like the panel/offcut storage idea. I might make something similar to that in my shop. I also really like the full panel storage under/behind it. I'm not 100% sure I will be able to adapt it into my shop but I really like the idea.
It’s so awesome to see all the storage and organization tips you put to use in your shop! I may have to implement some of this in my shop. I liked that miter saw steep angle jig too! Thank you for sharing! I hope you continue to feel better!
I've really been enjoying your recent videos, they have a very professional feel to them and are packed with good ideas. I appreciate that you aren't constantly shouting and don't add terrible stock music to the background. I'm in the process of setting up a small workshop in my carport and it is nice to follow along with someone doing the same thing. Incidentally, I just purchased the plans to your wall tool storage cabinet from a few videos back. Really looking forward to getting it on my wall and getting my tools out of boxes!
Love seeing your ingenuity in each and every video. You're really talented and a great inspiration to me trying to get my own little shop as efficient as possible. Keep up the great work!
I like how you think outside the box. I’m sorry to hear you had a stroke, and all the health problems that come with it. The only thing to be is grateful.
I think you have a great storage system. What I really thought was a very good idea was the gutter for storing small items! I never thought of that before but I wish I had. Thanks for sharing this as I found it very helpful.
I truly hope you and yours are doing better. I know you mentioned your health a previous video. I love the gutter for storage!!! I really appreciate these organization videos, because I too have limited space, but a LOT of hobbies. 😅
very nice. love the use of space. and the difference between storage and organization sacrifice those of us in small spaces sometimes have to make is important to mention. thanks
Great idea, Im facing the same issue with my Lumber storage, I have the same size Garage, I will try your design with some changes, because my ceiling is more complicated than yours, thanks for sharing, great work again.
Very nice solution to wood storage. Fun to watch you come up different ways to get the most out of your shop. Being a small shop owner myself, I sometimes think the only purpose to a hobby shop is to work on organizing it. someday I may actually make something not shop related.🤣🙃🙃
Great idea.Im busy reaaranging my 1 garage workshop and have for years now using the same principal of storing in the roof, but without storage of small offcuts etc.Surely going to incorporate that.
Fantastic approach to organizing. I seriously recommend investing in a shinto saw rasp. If you've never used one, you will be so happy because it's quick, easy, and removes a large margin of error that you get with a chisel.
This is a very good storage solution I absolutely love it and will be doing something very similar... I guess you don't have earthquakes in your area, but seeing how that stuff could come down on top of your head makes me nervous. I thought you were going to go all the way across with your overhead storage which would allow you more storage, and prevent things from hitting you on your head, only thing is that you have to have a way to access them, so I don't know how that would work on second thought... but this is a great place to start thinking of it. I appreciate your videos and the idea you bring to us. Cheers! P.S. I would have never thought of the roof gutter as a storage, that is Brilliant!!!
Excellent work as always. My shop space is even smaller and has to cope with a variety of materials and parts, not in huge quantities but quite eclectic. I could really use overhead storage, just hesitant about committing to a system, and this looks rather like what I have in mind. I also have that problem with tubing and strip goods, love the gutter storage. Congratulations on 250k well-deserved subs!
Lekker man lekker, I build something similar but instead of doing half laps I gave the stud 2 ears that fit over the wall studs. The wall studs have holes drilled in them and the ears too. A dowel holds them together, and they are adjustable and I can add more studs if I need more. But currently I use the wole wall except for the thickness of that 114x38 that is my wall studs. You gave me an idea to use that as well
No it’s not fancy but it addresses a common woodworker problem and is very appreciated, your solution combines many things in a compact way that I would not have likely arrived at. Thanks for the video, I enjoyed it all the same❤
I was just thinking about you a couple of days ago, was wondering how your health is? Anyways was so glad to see a video up this evening (here) you are looking well and appear to have been very productive, I love watching your single garage workshop show 😉 Greetings from Germany 🇩🇪
A clever idea for wood storege looking forward to the finish workshop and your take on mobile benches I build one for hand tools and battery and air line tools and one for machine tools and extractor 5ft by 2foot each works well. Interest to see what you come up with tho sorry I can't send you any picture it won't let me know here
I used your original idea for lumber storage, luckily I have a few sheds on our property I built those in my tractor shed they hold a massive amount of lumber but I don,t have any thing for small sheets so this idea I will try I do have a large workshop 7m X 6.5m and a lot of space above me
A sore head makes me echo the calls for some form of securing mechanism for the overhead lumber. The day something falls (and it will), even if it doesn't land on you, it may be the distraction that costs you some fingers. Have you seen the quick release rope clamps on sailing boats? They may be useful. Aside from that, an elegant, top notch build as usual.
I like the upgrades to your workshop. Unfortunately you lost a light in the center of the shop but I am sure you will address that. Hope you are well and doing good. RCD
If you only intend to keep dust from gathering in the gutter you can drill some holes or can just cheap and cheese it with some foil, paper towels or even plastic sheet to serve as cover. You can even use some of your off cuts and make a thin frame. I suggest that you make it easier on yourself and consider using slide mechanisms for some of the plexiglass cover, it's less work in case of modifications, upgrades, maintenance or in case something falls in... Depending on the design 😅
I was thinking a drop-down option like the ceiling-mounted shelves you did early on would have been a good choice for the long lumber. Pull down to access easily, lock up out of the way
Love your ideas, inspiration channel for sure. For projects I don't often have time for, getting a jump start with good ideas is super welcomed and helps me gather up the gumption to do them. My scrap pile looks a whole lot less useful than yours though, maybe I'll address that too 😂
Although it'll probably be a bit of a chore having to sift through the smaller pieces against the wall, I think you've done a great job. I would be worried about lumber dropping on my head though. Would it be possible to put some form of stop on the arms ? Just a thought. Thanks for posting and sharing your ideas! Frank 👏👏🏴🏴
I like it, but wouldn't do the cantilevers without some sort of bounding fitting to keep the long timber from falling. We get a lot of earthquakes in NZ and I don't think it would be ideal for all that to fall on me or my tools.
Grats on 1/4 million subs! I remember when you had a few thousand. Mine isn't even there yet...you deserve all the success sir. I look forward to seeing you again just now.
Excellent simple build.
The cut sheet storage is a great idea.

Welcome back, glad to see you are going on!!
Good to see you looking healthier!
It functional and that’s what counts. It’s great to see you back, and looking good
Excellent ideas for lumber storage
Your little "not the greatest" as you say, did an EXCELLENT job, helping to find your floor again. 😂😂
Great job!!
Glad to see your bad to yourself as much as possible. Hope you keep on the mend and love your new video!!
Every journey starts with a single step. Great to see you working again. Stay healthy and have a great year.
I love your builds you always come up with great ideas. Hope your health is improving. Great to see you back but take it easy we will always be here supporting you
It's good system you have created for your small shop. It certainly seems to be functional for you and will allow a more efficient workflow. Well done!!
Love the options 🎉

Always enjoy seeing your well thought out and extremely well built shop projects. Nicely done. Congrats on your channel growth.
Great workshop storage, I have a double garage and I will be using this idea thank you.
So many good ideas. Thanks for sharing. You're an inspiration my dude.
I had the exact same guttering idea yesterday. Uncanny 😂😂. Great build again! Glad you're doing well!
As always great design and solution.
Brilliant design for the storage love watching your videos

Great system! 🏴
Really a great storage system. Especially the wall unit will find it's way into my small Workshops. Thanks for the inspiration in all of your videos!👍🏻🔝

Having a small shop myself, I find your stuff inspiring.
Love your system!!!! Looking great!!
Your concepts have me thinking. Thank you.

GREAT , nice job
Great job, Terrific Ideas!
Fantastic work, Jean! I really liked your solutions! 😃
Stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
A great system for a small workshop. I liked the jig you made to cut angles on the mitre saw very clever.
I truly hope you and yours are doing better. I know you mentioned your health a previous video. I love the gutter for storage!!! I really appreciate these organization videos, because I too have limited space, but a LOT of hobbies. 😅

Well thought through as usual! 👌🏻
Great storage solution
you had a briliand idea, thank you.
Simple yet brilliant solution!
Amazing job, it was really inspirational

Good job Jean, as usual 😉. Greetings ftom Switzerland!
Great job. So jealous of your workshop.
Nicely done!
i hope you are well man, I love your vids!!
I like all of it, but the pvc gutter is really genius.
No it’s not fancy but it addresses a common woodworker problem and is very appreciated, your solution combines many things in a compact way that I would not have likely arrived at. Thanks for the video, I enjoyed it all the same❤
great video and help for me in my own space.
Fantastic job!!
Brilliant idea. 👏
Excellent.
Congratlations on your 250k subscriber's! Awesome video! 👏
Nicely done.
Great ideas friend!!
Brilliant!
Awesome
Just what I’m looking forward to making
The sheet off cut storage is a bugbear of mine, I’m sick of them all over the ground.
GREAT project, as always, your projects are very well thought out and executed. Glad you are back and congrats on the 250K subs. Carpe Diem! !! !!!
I was just thinking about you a couple of days ago, was wondering how your health is? Anyways was so glad to see a video up this evening (here) you are looking well and appear to have been very productive, I love watching your single garage workshop show 😉

Nice job, very useful.
clever, as always
You could also make dividers to fit in the gutter for small hardware.
Great episode.
That was very good 👍🏻 I’m thinking to do something similar 😊
love your videos!

Good Job!!!
I'd put some corner pieces on those middle pieces on the ceiling, taken from experience they will come down on your head, beautiful job mate. :)

Good video well done.
Baie mooi en uitstekende idees. Ek het 'n boks vol planke in die hoek en het anderdag 'n slang onder die boks gevind
Love this

Wow you are doing so well. I can't detect any issues at all. If you hadn't said something last time, I wouldn't have noticed.
I was thinking a drop-down option like the ceiling-mounted shelves you did early on would have been a good choice for the long lumber. Pull down to access easily, lock up out of the way

Genius! 👌
For your gutter storage maybe drill small holes in the bottom so you can blow or sweep the dust out via the holes and on to the ground before sweeping
Love your ideas, inspiration channel for sure. For projects I don't often have time for, getting a jump start with good ideas is super welcomed and helps me gather up the gumption to do them. My scrap pile looks a whole lot less useful than yours though, maybe I'll address that too 😂

Frank 👏👏🏴🏴
I suggest that you drill drain holes into the gutter for dirt and dust removal.
We'll wait until it's finished; before we comment how it is, about safety. Thank you kind Sir.
I like it, but wouldn't do the cantilevers without some sort of bounding fitting to keep the long timber from falling. We get a lot of earthquakes in NZ and I don't think it would be ideal for all that to fall on me or my tools.
