I like this a lot! I am hoping to make a nice big cross-body bag with lots of fringes and embellishments to take to church so I can stuff in my cushion to sit on (which takes up a lot of room!) and my Bible and my little handbag. I need my hands free to walk with my crutches. A big Boho bag would be just the thing! I have a smaller bag (a purchased one, a gift from someone) and it's not quite big enough. Far more fun to have a unique one I've made myself! I have now made 3 bags since following your channel and I love them! Soooo fun!

I sew the bottom and two sides of the lining, then press it, put it in the bag, turn the top edges to the inside, press them in place and sew them. Done. :)
I look for flannel backed tablecloths when they go on sale for $ 1.00 or $ 1.50 and use them for a lot of things. I put one over the mattress pad so if a pet gets sick or pees, it won't go through to the mattress. Usually they are seasonal but to cover a mattress, I don't care if it has ghosts or turkeys or Christmas Bells. And I thought you might have an idea for a pancho or beach bag or something with a non-seasonal tablecloth. Just a thought. ♥

I've never seen anyone do lining that way. I sew the lining and leave an opening at the bottom, put the lining inside the purse right sides together, sew the sides, top, and then pull the bag through the opening at the bottom of the lining and then sew the opening last.

The bag made from sweaters you thrifted, how did you keep the sweater material from unraveling? I think it is amazing and was going to try to make it. Doesnt sweaters unravel when you cut them?
Handle them gently and get them sewn fairly soon after cutting. 🥰
Traci, do you use a denim needle for the purses, the snippet rolls and the blanket coats? Are you constantly switching needles?
I left my denim needle in ALL the time. I'm sure that's probably not technically correct. I finally just changed it back to a standard needle because I have been doing a lot of alterations on lighter weight clothing.💗💗💗💗
