@Tnc874 - in your next step, FOIL out the (x+7) since (x+7)^2 really means (x+7)(x+7). Once your foil that, add 10 to the other constant of 49. Your quadratic function should then be: y = x^2 +14x +59. then, use the steps in the video. Hope that helps.

Yes, use the x intercepts as well as the vertex to create a rough sketch.
My aunt said “If you can’t say something nice don’t say anything at all.” Well I’ve got something to say. Very nice presentation sir! Very clear. If you have the time and inclination I would love to see you derive -b/2a from f(x)=ax^2+bx+c algebraically. No calculus please (I’m not there yet but I’m working on it). It’s just a wish, please feel free to ignore this wish. Again, VERY nice presentation!
